Around $5k today for a replacement boiler. Shouldn’t have to mess with too much to change out, oil only will be smaller. Will have to adapt to the old in and out pipes, exhaust and the fuel line in.
I have an old one sitting in my basement. I replaced it with geothermal, still need to remove the boiler taking up space. On my list of rainy day projects, and fortunately the sun came out today.

77°, we got .26” rain around 4-5 am. Woke me up. Once I got back to sleep I slept pretty good till 9:30. 😂

Good Morning!!!! 79F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High 99F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday's Fire Weather Watch has escalated into a Red Flag Warning, but still for areas west of here. Northerly winds and low humidity, the usual recipe. Those same winds have funneled in the smoke from the lightning fires north of here, giving the sunrise an orangeish pink glow this morning.
...Is there a term right below drizzle but above fog?
Mist?

Got the eight mounting holes for the tie down anchor plate in the van drilled yesterday, and rivnuts installed in four of them. The other four holes ended up over some kind of steel support piece, about 8.5mm behind the holes, too close to let the M8 rivnut seat in all the way. Looks to me like a barrier put in place to protect the fuel tank. Sure don't want to drill through that barrier and into a plastic gas tank, so I'm wondering if there's some kind of toggle bolt or expanding anchor I could use instead. The drilled holes are a little over 12mm in diameter, and they're through 1.5mm thick sheet metal.

Deliveries came in all day yesterday from US Mail, FedEx, and UPS, and even an OnTrack driver all the way from Sacramento with tires for the new trailer. The rest of the stuff is mostly for the new house. Need to get moving this morning before it gets too hot to work in the garage.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Ever heard of base jumping? Fell down a Facebook Reels rabbit hole just now and came up with this guy. If you're on FB, check out this link:
He catapults himself off a cliff and somehow gets video of the ride. Mind blowing!

Otherwise, here's a YouTube short of him skydiving in a pretty unconventional way:

RNG, a pic of your tie down would be helpful, curious how you design it, thinking about my little motorhome on travels across tornado alley.

Here's a photo of the two types of anchors that RAM uses in the van. both use nut plates welded to underneath the sheetmetal for anchors.

I'm trying to mount a pair of the larger ones where I don't have access to the back side of the hole, so I'm trying to distribute the load over more holes using a steel plate on the outside of the sheet metal bulkhead. I'll try go post some photos of what I've got later today, OK?
