Good Morning. The Storm has passed. Lots of clean up needed now. Mostly hand work.
Here is something I find funny...

As I've grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake!

Morning all, 72 going to 90 and sunny.
Son's band went ok, not a big crowd for this one, they played some of their original songs.
Most of the day in car and at concert, not much else accomplished.

Thomas, there are better ways to clean the kitchen.

Day job is calling, hopefully no more organizational changes this morning, we should wait until at least Tuesday for those :-(

good trip to supermarket.
forgot to take in my paper bags in trunk so got nicked for two bags at ten cents each.
I try to get three uses out of the paper bags; if I double them up the second and third time, most hold up.
everyone is trying to get away from plastic. Other supermarket doesn't charge for bags. Of course their prices are 20-30 percent higher.

I really try to hoard the plastic bags now
since I think they are going away.

When I lived in suburbia, I used them for picking up after my dog. Now, in the country, not much use for 'em. Too bad that 10 cents isn't redeamable (like a deposit), if you take them back to the store. My county takes them back (and used oil, flouresent bulbs and other recylcles), at their landfill, for free.

yes, something for farmers to grow, has natural strength, think hemp ropes

growing hemp, growing renewable pine trees.
I wonder what the final "carbon footprint" of those two options are
both are known for strength

We always reuse bags. When they first switched from paper to plastic, the excuse was it was better for the environment. Course we all knew it was a lie, it was just cheaper.
Just today I’m reusing old cat litter buckets to dig potatoes. Wish I could get more of those. Reusing cardboard baskets from the orchard to pick tomatoes. We use large brown grocery bars to pick green beans, they get too much moisture if in plastic.
So I dug a bucket of potatoes. Pulling a lot of weeds as I go. Need to pick more beans and tomatoes.

Wood is a great renewable.
Back in the day of iron furnaces, all the mountains near me were cut bare to make charcoal. Now they are forests again. Amazing how fast nature comes back.

Good morning! Low of 57°, heading towards 88°. Sunny, no rain. The extreme dryness continues...... another week and it will be 3 months without any precip.....

Drew, neat pics with the drone. Soon you'll be zipping around the neighborhood!
Unfortunately, all we got from Hilary was wind. We have had worse winds before.

Kyle, I bet it's a real show when all those students return! Congrats on your son's achievement!

Scootr, that is so true! My problem seems to be that it has become way to easy for me to piss people off! ....especially people working in stores .....

Got a good chunk of the driveway project done yesterday. Successful batch of dog food too! Here's a couple pics of the area when I just started digging out the accumulated dirt.

Need to make a run into the city today, may get more done when I get back.

my morning turned out to be biting off more than I could chew.
That half mile trail to the overlook on top of the NJ bluffs was longer than that.
One pair of guys passed me, said you didn't take the short cut. I guess I didn't.
But I trudged along and was very happy to get to the top.
the last two were taken down by the river side

that was sure my exercise for the day

Will be an indoor day for sure

Did get my water pump and filter project planned out so a trip to Home Depot for some fittings.
