Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 5:45AM. Sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. High 56F. Winds light and variable.

Feeling guilty because I haven't lubed my garage door tracks since I moved in here, now almost nine years ago. In my defense, the doors don't get nearly as much use as those belonging to someone that has to open them to go to work every day. I've got some spray on dry moly lube I think I'll try. Hope you find a simple cure for whatever ails that opener, Randy. You sure don't need any more fireworks!

I don't mind country music Rick, but having to listen to anything 24/7 would be over the top. Don't horses and donkeys ever sleep?:laughing:

Do you worry about the worms crawling out of that clothes hamper looking thing, WW, er, Drew? Like Steve McQueen riding that motorcycle in the Great Escape, once out of their cage they'd need your help to get back in! And are you gonna have to have your neighbor come in and feed the worms when you go on vacation? Having pets is a big responsibility you know!:D:laughing:

That downed manzanita turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought yesterday, and when I grabbed it with the 4in1, it was wider than the street in some spots so the banks got a nice sweeping. When I got to the gate it wouldn't fit, so I had to drop it and then hook the root ball with the bucket and drag it backwards the last quarter mile. Had to make a second trip for a big branch that broke off. Should'a dropped the auger, as the back wheels kept slipping on the way back, too. So I put the box blade back on before I tackled the ashes in the campfire pit, and it's a good thing I did. They were soaking wet and it was like shoveling concrete. Filled the bucket completely up, and I could see the front tires bulging under the weight. The old back wasn't happy with all that bending over and shoveling, either. But I got it done, and dumped down in the gully without getting stuck, and even hosed out the bucket and my boots when I was finished.

Didn't manage a nap, unless you count nodding off at the computer screen, as I didn't want to miss the UPS man when he came to drop off the new laser level. I got a notice the day before that he couldn't leave it because it wouldn't fit in the Knack box at the end of the drive. And the end of the box was all bashed in, but fortunately the heavy duty carrying case it came in did its job and everything inside seemed OK. I'll fire it up today and make sure.

The fellow from the Butler builder is due out this morning as well so see where he thinks they can fit the shop in. Should be interesting...

Happy Hump Day everyone!

It's 17° this morning, yesterday was nice and sunny in the low 30's. Today is going to be mostly cloudy with snow flurries and a high in 30's. With the wind picking up to 25-35 mph.

Eric and RNG ... I like the pictures.

Ted ... Sorry. I need RNG to tell me when it's coming over the hill so I can make sure I have it closed.

Spent most of yesterday cleaning the driveway. We end up getting a good 12 inches and some pretty good winds.

Hope everyone has a good hump day.
CWB.

Not every old Beemer is worth the big bux, Kyle, but if you chase down some /2 pricing, especially the R69S, get ready for a nose bleed.

PG&E was convicted a few years ago of diverting funds from line maintenance and brush clearing to prop up shareholder profits. The judge in that case is now making them prove they haven't broken the terms of their probation, and I think they're going to fail miserably. So in addition to the new lawsuits, they'll have to pay the full penalties that were suspended in the original suites. To add to the circus, Erin Brockovich, yeah, that Erin Brockovich, has teamed up with a local scum sucking ambulance chasing lawyer to sue PG&E on behalf of the Camp Fire victims willing to sign with them. His fees will likely be 33%-50% of any winnings, something I bet the fire victims haven't been made aware of. I get two or three letters a week from other lowlife lawyers, and am now even seeing ads for them on Facebook. The amount of damages from such suits is now far more than the company's cash holdings, so they really didn't have any choice but to file for bankruptcy if they were going to try to keep the lights on. But since the filing rumors started, many companies that were removing trees and brush from beneath power lines have packed up and gone home for fear that PG&E would default on their bills. So just the opposite of what needed to happen to make the power lines safe has come to pass due to the lawsuits. If that doesn't make you mad, I don't know what will!:censored:

As a far away observer, I was already steamed, now I'm burning up...what a crock. Especially the lawyers scraping off the top for the billions involved.

Rick, I saw a bit of sleet, and just a few scant flurries about 10 miles north of where I live.

Don is right. Chilly here. 35F with brisk winds. Nothing like up north.

You folks keep warm. Whatever it takes.

47°F and rain this morning when I left the house, became 32° and snow by the time I crossed the Mississippi River into St. Louis. Cold front whipping through today will take us down to near 20° by tonight. Looks like single digits for tomorrow night, and more snow on Saturday. We certainly are getting a Winter here this year.

Nice pictures, fellas. I haven't had a "proper" camera since my first marriage back in the '80s. Bought a nice Canon SLR (film) and a bunch of lenses, and ex-wife kept it all. Everything since then has been those little digital jobbies or iPhones.

Still no heat at work. Maintenance had to call in the heating and cooling contractor. This morning they are replacing the blower motor and some other components. Our air compressor burned up yesterday afternoon as well. Bunch of people looking for other things to do while we await a replacement for that. Tough infrastructure week here.

Wife sent me a picture yesterday of our first duck egg. Said she found another one this morning.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Today’s low was -2ºF it is now 25ºF. I should see some mixed precipitation later today changing over to rain, rain tonight through tomorrow possibly ending with mixed precipitation/snow.. This weekend’s storm seemed moisture starved based on yesterdays weather news and it I remember correctly the following storm may be another inside runner. I’ll rant later. ;)

RNG and Randy- Thanks for sharing the eagle pictures. Despite their huge size eagle nests are usually hard to locate. We visit an established eagle nest on small island in an Adirondack lake yearly, and even as it grows in size each year. and has not changed location it still takes a while to locate from our kayaks. Usually it’s the. eaglets squawking that gives the location away. I hope that you find the nest.

The abuse of legal process by maggoty ambulance chasing high priced, highly illuminated, and low value exploitative lawyers should be criminalized.

Buppies- I am happy to read that your wife was + surprised. Nice looking watch and s analog too.

Kyle- J24’s are great sailboats. It seems that all those used sailboats for sail at the marinas are a product of a failed relationship. My buddy has/had 3 sailboats of increasing size and a dinghy for sail ;). Wifey’s engagement ring cost more than my Newport 17 which cost slightly more than the cigar ring that I gave her +40 years ago.

Drew- Your greenhouse reads like an excellent place to R&R aging joints and bones. A meeting o the minds of this membership would be epic and probably result in lots of stupid.;)

Eric and Claye- Thanks for sharing your snow pictures.

Billy- From your description of the halo I would call it a sundog. Usually seen in pairs equidistant to either side of the sun, but there can be secondaries and tertiaries. When Isee them I assume precipitation w/i 24 hours as I do when I see contrails become clouds.

PGS- Mt\y ongratulations to the duck.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day today and a better day tomorrow.

M + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning to all! Low of 22F, going up to 45F and sunny. Supposed to get windy again, gust to 35 mph. The weather report said our area got 6" of snow. The most I saw on the ground was about an inch. Maybe it was just because it was melting as it fell. That's ok with me!

RNG, nice pic of the eagle! Nice to see the wildlife coming back for sure.

Drew (WW), sounds like your putting out quite the buffet for the worms when they arrive!

TD, YOU MISSED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR SEAT TIME ???

Today's agenda isto do the errands that didn't happen yesterday.

Everyone have a great 'hump day' ! Prayers out for everyone.

34 going to 54, already feels like spring out there.

Buppies, I bought Lynn a Z28 convertible for her birthday in 2002, it cost less than that watch! LOL

Prayers for everybody to be comfortable.
Wow, i didn't look it up. I was thinking my wife could use a new watch, but she'd rather have a z28. Lol
