Coffee is brewing. 28° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 33° cloudy skies. Visit to financial guy went well. One more visit next month and all should be good for a long time. Made it to Rural King for bird seed 200 lbs should make it until I stop feeding in May. Opened up box of parts for Nightstand. Over 50 different pieces to assemble it. That does not include all the screws and other fittings. First sentence in instruction says it will take 2 people to assemble. Hope Sassy will help. Going to get started on it today.
After all the squirrel shenanigans. Need to stop for a drink.

good morning all
37 going up to 43 in sun and clouds
all morning is devoted to a school board meeting, pretty sure the topic is long range planning. Not too bad, three hours, they serve us lunch and then we go home.

seems very strange to get to middle of January and have not used snowblower. Will likely jinx myself saying that.

David, nice job on the addition. You really have done amazing things with your home. And you did it "your way".

electric bill really shot up, between hot tub and portable electric heaters, understand why, tradeoff to using more 4.69 fuel oil.
I never check the rate, wonder if PECO has raised it.

hope you all have a great weekend.

They are, and I planned to ... assuming I can get them out ... ;)

Removed the one on the cold water end a bit ago, the ones for the diverter and hot water are being a little more stubborn ... so I'm letting them soak in some Blaster after having heated the portion of the valve body they are in several times with the MAPP torch.

That is what is good about that tool - if the seats won’t come out, you can reface them. Just cut them enough to where you have a continuous shiny ring without any interruptions and you can get several years out of it before grinding it again. The key is to do two turns and inspect, two turns and inspect, and take off just enough…

Took the dog up the mountain again yesterday, she got two days in a row, so we can leave her home today and not have her be overly upset that we aren’t taking her today. Rain coming in tomorrow so today is the only day to chainsaw. I will also keep Mrs busy while I set everything up by letting her shovel out some obstructions in one of the drainage ditches that are keeping part of the road in a little too damp - ain’t I a nice guy?😁🤣

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

made it through the work week - YAY! No butting heads with management over training issues for two days. YAY

25F allegedly going to low 50’s, but at least sunny all day. Chainsaw will get a workout! gotta wait until the temps get above freezing before Mrs. will go, though…

, Doen't Black locust have good BTU per pound of wood?

Actually most fossil fuels have the same BTU output per pound, but the density varies greatly. A cord of Willow or poplar will weigh a lot less than a cord of oak, and hence have a lower BTU output. Same for propane at just over 4 lbs per gallon vs heating oil at 7 lbs per gallon. The btu content is proportional to the weight.

Good Morning
It’s 36 and overcast, but not going to be a bad day with a high of 40.

Yesterday was taken up with preparing dinner. Brisket, homemade MAC and Cheese, baked beans, grilled veggies, Cole slaw and tres leches cake for dessert. Wife made the dessert and veggies, I did the Brisket and other stuff.
It was a zoo, with the kids three dogs, the grand son and Zoe, seemed like somebody was always stirring things up.
We all slept well afterwards.

This morning I’m off to Concord NH after a quick shower and bowl of special K. Hopefully leave there around 1. The ground is a serious swamp out there, making any outside work impossible when I get home.
Maybe just park in front of the new TV, which is in front of the treadmill and check them both out.

Good Morning. Cold, near freezing, and getting a little warmer later, maybe in the high 50s. We are trying to dry out from the incredible rains last weekend. I got my new trash pump online ( hose adapters arrived). Hopefully we can avoid more garage flooding.
Yesterday was a great day. I got the hotrod insured and registered. Bring on the spring weather!

36 outside this AM. Heading towards upper 40's. Cloudy, doubt it will clear up.

Need to do some shopping today for lights and an exhaust fan for the Milk House.

Hope to do some siding too. And looking out the front door this AM, looks like I need to get the chain saw out and pick up lots of sticks. Pretty windy yesterday.

David, your shelter is coming along nice.

Hope all have a great weekend. Be safe.

I acquired this replica from the widow of the builder through an online auction house call Bring A Trailer. It's a fun site but be careful or you will end up with a new toy like me. The AC Cobra is an iconic 1960s car made famous when Texas race driver/builder Carrol Shelby stuffed a Ford V8 into it and won Lemans beating the Ferraris. This replica is a way to experience driving the classic without actually paying the million dollars plus price tag that any running example would bring today.
This is a 1965 model. Smog and safety exempt. It is the rawest driving experience you will ever get. lol

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 53F. Winds light and variable.

That was painful to read, Ted. Another one of Life's cruel jokes.

In addition to snow, I'm allergic to ragweed, and that pretty much rules out anything east of the Mississippi River. But keep those ideas comin'!

Nice car, Scott. If some's good, more's better...

Insurance adjuster never reached out to the contractor yesterday, or any day of the previous week, so I left more voicemail for the claims administrator yesterday. Sheesh, doesn't anyone ever answer their phone these days? Then I got a letter via email from the adjuster stating they consider the claim closed after making that initial payment. This in spite of reassurances in every conversation I've had with her that it would remain open until we can determine the actual extent of the damage. Crap, hope I don't have to hire an attorney.

Got what I hope is a referral to a good real estate agent in the area I'm looking at, so sent him some background info and a listing I'm interested in to help get him pointed in the right direction. First conversation with him will be sometime next week.

Now comparing Sprinter and Transit specs, and also looking at used market. As expected, not much difference in price between used and new, and new ones are rather thin on the ground. Terrible time to be buying trucks or houses, but there ya go.

Parts for Ford came in yesterday, so after it warms up a bit I'll dive into that.

Not sure what else I'll get into today, but I hope it doesn't involve phone calls and the internet.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
