Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #161,661
Good morning all. It’s about 10° or so here it will go up a little bit today. Four more inches of snow coming tomorrow, and then bam! Several days above zero, and rain. That will make the driveway extremely slippery, and so I had better park at the top Wednesday night.

Meanwhile the wife and I are not feeling so hot, so we put off turkey time until today. (I am always amazed at how many people do not eat turkey on Christmas. I could not live without it!)

Did anyone at all have turkey yesterday?

The kid shoveled more snow yesterday, all the way down to the dock, which is quite a ways. Got her boyfriend to help of course.

Meanwhile, I went over to the rental property and there was over 2 feet of snow so I just did a single pass so I could pick up a snow shovel. Will go over and do the rest today.

Cranberry pancakes for breakfast – Yum!

Happy Boxing Day everyone!

6 PM: Breaking news - just tested positive for Covid!:(

I love turkey, but I had one in October and didn't want another one at Christmas. Ham was a good choice. Cranberry sauce with ham is good. Better than apple sauce as far as I am concerned. We got a really nice rump roast of beef for New Years day.

Take it easy check, that schitt will kill you IF you let it.

Maybe you or one of the kids could stop by the Township yard and pick up some sand, usually they will let you have it for free as long as you don't show up with a dump truck. A couple of 5 gallon pails full or if you have a wood stove, ashes work better and you don't have to beg it off the township.

Good morning, way too early.
26°

   / Good morning!!!! #161,666
Drinking first cup of coffee. 11° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 23° with cloudy skies. Got some sun yesterday. But it did not last long. Did get 2 of the 3 switches installed on Bandsaw and Belt Sander. Waiting for parts to do Lathe. Should be a little safer to use the machines in my shop. I think today will be a conserve energy day.
The Lookout.

good morning all
gosh I think the temps will get above freezing today, what a nice change...
25 going up to 37 today

Ron, what kind of switches did you put on? The big red emergency ones?

had a nice lunch with old friends at Perkins. Waited a long time for a table.
My friend has neurological problems such that his leg gives out, must use a cane, very unsteady on feet.
And while eating, he started to choke on some food, and said he had problems with that.
He is seeing another specialist, sounds like something affecting his overall body and not just leg.

Made plans to see these folks end of Jan, will take Amtrak back down to Delray Beach. 3 thousand bucks for round trip sleeper. Wow.
Sure wish I didn't hate flying. Just too old to make that long drive any more.
Is it me or do prices seem to have an extra zero snuck in there?.....................

After my UPS started beeping and would not cut off last time the power went off I made a sign on it saying: "HOLD Silence Button for 3 Seconds". Nothing is more irritating than trying to read the manual when there is a loud beeping.
Sure there is - reading a manual by flashlight when there is a loud beeping. . .

Ron, great idea when something gets tangled, stuck, smoke appears....and with wide open eyes you lunge for that nice big red button.
Smart upgrade

my next older brother and I have identical sleeping habits. Early to bed, early to rise. Early morning is wakeup, coffee and TBN.

Our family traditions are:

-Thanksgiving is for Turkey
-Christmas and Easter are for ham
-New Years Day is Prime Rib

bit we will do Turkey a couple more times during the year. Smoked or roasted on the charcoal grill during the summer, oven in house on a chilly Spring of Autumn day. Possibly a midwinter one or two just because.

Feel Better!

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

nice to see a two-digit F temp starting with a “2” instead of a single-digit temperature of 2!

The biggest annoyance of this cold snap is how much water I am running though the whole house filter directly down the drain with three faucets trickling the last 80+ hours. I can only catch so much in buckets and glasses.

I would like very much to be able to get up to the woodlot and change some vertically-oriented unprocessed lumber and firewood into horizontally-oriented unprocessed lumber and firewood. I don’t know if that will happen, but it would be a good day for it. I have to see what my actual plans for the day are when Mrs wakes up in about 20 minutes. . .

We‘ve been watching some vintage TV shows on our RoKu. “Celebrity Bowling” from 1971 was yesterday’s binge-watch. It’s a hoot! And it is better than 90% of the crap currently produced.

I hope everyone has a healthy Productive happy and blessed day!

Good morning, low temp is 10 and going to a high of 19°F. Wind SSW 7 mph. Flurries, about an inch. Tonight they say it is going to snow, 4 inches, so tomorrow morning I will plow.

For overnighters in the wood stove/furnace I use Beech. In the morning I always have a bed of big coals.

I've been told that wood ashes are good for the garden if you can't find any ice to put them on. They work on hard packed snow, too.

I used to fish through the ice for Trout and Herring, but quit when it got to be too much to cut the hole in the ice for the boat. Trolling was a b!tch. If you do ice fish, a chainsaw is the best way to cut the hole, if you are going to put a shack on top of it.

That yellow eared tree rat looks good.

I went to bed at midnight after watching An Officer and a Murderer. A true story and the people that made it stuck fairly close to the public truth. Not much 'hollywood' in it. I wonder who gets the royalties from it.

Get better soon, check.

An energy conservation day today.

Stay safe all

Kilroy
I have been watching older TV programs during relaxing times. Dragnet, Jack Benny, Burns and Allen, laugh-in and others. Some of them would not be allowed because someone would be offended. I like Highway Patrol. Seeing cars from the 50s.
I get 60 Local channels from roof mounted antenna. Now that I have it tuned in. About to dump cable TV.

Good morning! the Tempest forecast was correct. 26˚F with a North wind shifting South later this morning, partly cloudy skies and mid 50s later.

After this morning we will be out of the freeze zone for the next 10 days. The plants in the garage go back outside. The Christmas decoration at the house are put away, Santa has left the "Farm", the reindeer leave tomorrow, ready to start the the new year.

   / Good morning!!!! #161,680
Christmas decorations put away so soon Don?
guess I'd better get to work...usually take them down New Years Day.
I think a lot more lights were up this year.
Maybe a good psychological sign
