66F and sunny @ 12:00, heading up to a high of around 72F for the day. No Dense Fog Advisory overnight, southwest winds kept the fog at bay.

Ten Day shows the big cool down is due in around the 12th. Calling for a high of only 54F with a low of 34F, next day only 44F for the high with a low of 32F.

Yesterday was a mostly clean up day, but I did get nine pieces of the 1 1/2 foam board trimmed to length as well. Need to order another four sheets of that (at least) along with drywall screws and a few other miscellaneous items (square electrical boxes, covers, etc.)

Also rehung light fixture on north wall.

Juggled pallets around, pallet of OSB now accessible.

Did some more work adding dirt under south overhead door to seal it up.

Refill two suet feeders still on agenda for today, hopper feeder probably due for refill as well while I'm at it.

Move cleaned light fixtures back over to barn.

Put up three sheets of OSB.

Get garage door opener moved into shop along with another pallet.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Friday ... (y)

Another pretty day here. Accuweather says it is 65F. Wednesday I mowed here at the house. I was sweating in a tee shirt. I was bagging them with the ego. I moved a lot of leaves. Yesterday I was chopping leaves at the farm with the zero turn. The oak leaves are harder to chop up than the maple and poplar leaves.

I got my flu shot Tuesday. My arm was sore and I felt a little achy after dinner. I probably should get another covid shot. Numbers are pretty low here and I don't think anyone is sure what happens next.

Our daughter is visiting. She loves Halloween so she went out and got some pumpkins and a big bag of candy. No kids came.:(

The fields at the farm are green again. I think it might be wheat.

Yep its Friday again. (y)

Good Morning,

While I am at the dump I am going to see if I can 'score' a refrigerator door or two. The older fridge doors make good body work panels and they are cheaper than buying body metal.
some time ago I acquired a yard cart / tilt dump for the ride on mower - it was fabricated from the metal sheets of a retired chest freezer. very well built, and handy.

I am not getting ahead of myself, but if things continue the way my wife is moving (separation), there will be some changes even in my personal space. Aquarium and perhaps a cat ... neither of them worked for her, and I've always enjoyed both. Just looking for silver linings. This whole mess sucks, and I'm numb about it. Trying to figure out finances first off.

I have a lot to catch up on, but wishing everyone a great day.

I'm hoping everyone will love my refrigerator door story.
About 40 years ago a good friend's Dad was an appliance repairman so had plenty of old appliances sitting around. One winter he and his two brothers decided two doors would make a good sled. So the four of us took two doors, handles removed...just outer shell, over to a nearby golf course after a snow. Snow wasn't all that deep but it rained then froze so we could walk on top. We set them on this very long fairly steep hill looking way off there were woods. We were all thinking no way would it go that far .
Then we figured out our weight for balance, right at 1000#.
We placed them together with moving quilts on top...then we all sat down at the same time.
Oh how I wish it was on video!
All I know is when we took off there was a fine sheet of ice blowing up at the front so we couldn't see anything and it was loud.
Lord knows how fast we were going but it seemed like within a minute we were in the woods! I got lucky hitting brush & small trees, others went into larger trees but luckily no broken bones.

Enjoy your evening all.

Can't catch up here. Reckon you guys have a conspiracy going where you post all night to create pages and pages of posts so us Ozzies get left behind.
M7040. I find the seat on my Kubota ZT to be quite comfy even on rough ground and I have had two back operations in the past. I see others fitting air-rides to their ZTs as well.
My Honda Accord has done about 205,000 klm now. I don't use it except to tow a trailer to the tip occasionally. My wife uses it as it is her favourite. Starting to look a bit rough now as it is 14 years old. I have only ever replaced brakes and batteries in it but the air-con clutch has now failed. Not sure I want to bother fixing it. It is the last black car I will ever own. (black was 'her' choice at the time)
I bought some dark green paint a couple of days ago to paint my trailer. It has been looking pretty shi**y for a few years now. Originally white and I painted it maroon about 18 years ago but that paint was awful and faded badly and the white showed through. I have it about half painted now and it is looking a lot better. It is a 8x4 Box trailer so pretty handy for carrying junk instead of damaging the truck.
I bought some new LED tail-lights as well as the lenses had clouded on the old ones. I won't be ashamed towing it next time. It needs a new floor in it too, from years of sitting out in the weather. Alu chequerplate is about $588 for a sheet... erk!
Still, it is the only trailer I have owned that doesn't have any rattles in it driving down the road.

Have you noticed all the pictures Buckeye posts of his cat...the cat is sleeping and on BEF's lap?
Damn happy cat!!

Momma was out here sitting on me a little bit ago. Neighbor came home so she might have went back over. She was having fun earlier running around trying to trip me as I was gathering wood for the fire.

BEF, good news on your doctor visit, and Sodamo, good to hear the report on Sophie's eyes.

Hiked to what I've now added to my favorite mountain list...Spy Rock, from Crabtree and The Priest. Ended up hiking to a shelter further down the trail, and setting a new distance record for me. Still running into thru-hikers, all headed south, of course. Talked with one younger man for a while that is prepping to start his thru-hike in February...plans to get arrive at this spot on April 21...I told him I'd be there hiking and look forward to seeing him again.

I think I'll take a conservation day and go get some Tex-Mex to recharge.

My WBC a little high, but it usually is a little high.
Triglycerides high.

Sounds like nice hike. My feet have been hurting more lately. DR just said go to neurologist. Last one I saw getting over my GBS didn’t seem interested and discharged me as soon as I was walking again.
Tex mex sounds delicious.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 7C and the predicted High is 22C, It's clear and calm. No rain. A beautiful day ahead.

The ground had dried/drained enough that I was able to chain-harrow paddocks 3/4/5! I then decided to Z-turn mow those paddocks IOT assist breaking up and spreading the horse droppings... which led to the decision to mow the front paddock, avoiding the vastly reduced but still present, 'moat' in front of the shed.

As I was mowing I realised that I was doing so at a Lawn Tractor speed, "Hey, I'm on a Z-turn! Let's open this baby up!!!" WOW, a great cut and heaps of fun but I did need to clench my teeth for fear of breaking teeth or jaw. :D

I'll finish off the horse exercise area/paddock later on today.

That's about it, take care all.

The first job after graduating as mechanical engineer was working for a small inventor company with a bunch of young employees. The first project I got involved with was to raise a sunken ship in Kuwait via a method never been used before except in a cartoon with Donald Duck. You may have fun reading about it:

I was thinking balloons. How many ping pong balls did it take, what did it cost and what happened to the ping pong balls afterwards?

It was polystyrene beads that was used. The deck had to be reinforced because of the uplift and time was of the essence because of 6000 sheep on the ship and the intake was close to the desalination plant that was used for drinking water for Kuwait

Evening all, been a couple of weeks, have to get caught up again.
Been busy playing with leaves and getting stuff ready for when the next season arrives lol. The weather has been great for outside stuff. The Mrs had an interesting bug bite on her back, thing turned into a big cyst and when it popped and drained it left a hole about 1/4” diameter and 3/4” deep. She went to doc’s and they dug around inside, cleaned it up and packed it with gauze, I had to pull that out, clean and repack every day until it healed enough you couldn’t stuff gauze in it anymore, took about 2 wks. It’s mostly healed up now.

Saw this on the news a couple days ago, I know mistakes can happen, but time to man up!
