Roy,
Before my FIL passed, one hospital said stroke, Hopkins wasn’t sure. In the end not sure what it was, but he was just starting to recover then passed. Almost 2 yrs ago now.

Beautiful morning. I watered garden before leaving for work since rain missed us.
Only worked half day, came home and got 4 rows potatoes planted, another 1/3 row of pole beans and the rest of that row with bush beans
Garden is all planted.
Then mowed front and side yards. Rain is now approaching. A few drops here and there. Getting much cooler, now 65°. On porch with neighbors cats

snagglepuss on my lap, and tripod at my feet.
Neighbor came over to chat awhile.

Need to work some tonight.

David, if Sophie is going to carry her chainsaw around in the bucket, tell her that I did once. I accidentally tipped the bucket down without realizing and chainsaw fell out. Next thing I felt a bump as I ran over it. Bar was in the shape of a figure S.

I had a drill and a bunch of hand tools in the bucket, went to my top soil pile and scooped it full, drove around and dumped in a new flower bed. Took several minutes of digging to find it all.

I'm another that has dumped tools that I carried in the bucket, including a chainsaw. But I did not run over the chainsaw with the tractor because I was backing up. I later ran over it with the truck.

you put stuff in that bucket and you can't see it and out of sight out of mind...gosh that sounds familiar

Buckeye that big storm is now plowing through Washington NC, got soaked going out to dinner downtown, several inches of rain expected here but not much at home. That means I'll be driving out of the rain early tomorrow morning and hope to get in the clear.
Going to leave at 6am no matter what, when it's light out. Not going to drive in the rain in the dark, this is the area I hit that bear at 50mph at night.

not a bad drive today, dry, about 6 1/2 hours. Hands and wrists are sore.
And almost nine hours tomorrow to get home. I hate this drive.
Why can't Amtrak run a decent railroad?

I took a lot of pics on this trip, all family stuff, and my favorite was my next older brother reading to his grandson.

The only time I put tools in the bucket is either right when we're starting a project and they'll be taken out at the work site, or when we're done and the tools / tractor are going back to the garage.

I think I have just been fortunate that I remember they are in the bucket....

Drew, Have a safe and uneventful trip back home.

Finished up with the vent in the greenhouse relocation project. Wasn't too bad. Wifey thinks it's in a better location for cross ventilation, I agree.

One project crossed off.... I'm thinking that I'll tackle building the large 2'x8' raised bed for the strawberry plants. Not sure if it's too late in the season to transplant them, but they are crowded and struggling in the 22" round containers they are in now.

Even if the wind materializes tomorrow, I'll buid it in the shop, then move and place it with the tractor. I might have to find some additional plants to put in there too.

Time to go put the feet up. I think a bowl of IC is in order.

Horrible thunderstorm up here in Ontario Saturday night. 10 people dead thousands of people in the city without power, probably none of which have generators, and even today they are still without power. Wife drove down to the city today, and passed through some of the areas where there were trees strewn everywhere down powerlines, and even a dead cow on the side of the road. Not much fun!

Fortunately, up here we saw none of it. I think we heard a couple of rolls of thunder and that was it.

Ironically, it is the people out in the country that suffer the least when there’s a huge power outage.. People in the city just don’t generally have generators.
