Good morning!!!!

Thanks Ted.
I really wished I hadn't drank that huge cup of super strong coffee with dinner. Restaurant coffee is usually way stronger than I brew at home, I jokingly tried to stand a spoon up in this stuff.
And with a very little half and half, it was really good. And I drank too much of it.

Don, I've been thinking about not only your vegan successes but your whole life in that community. It really sounds fulfilling. You seem to keep as busy as you want, and having access to a JD is pretty cool. Lot of that work looks like hard work out in the hot sun.
One of the promises or perhaps goals of a vegan life style is longer life. I genuinely hope you get it.
What you do with jackfruit is amazing and I like to cook.

Every once in a while I really want a well barbecued pork chop. Don't think I could give it up.
But I eat a lot less meat in general and try to eat more broccoli and blueberries. Have cooked with black beans a lot, adding them as a filler/protein source.

The thing is, I really think Don is going to last longer doing what he is doing.
Now if he can make a barbecued pork chop out of jackfruit, I might be a believer...

Check, glad you are ok.

I have a couple things in my backhoe bucket now. At least you see them before dumping.

And speaking of pork chops, my wife made something called smothered pork chops in the crock pot today, boy was it good. She put a homemade creole sauce on it, and onions. That and oven toasted potatoes. Yum yum.

Just finished with work work, since I took off mid day.
It has started to rain .02”

Pebbles climbed up on my lap and fell asleep. She was like a tornado when I was working. climb up and get on my keyboard and attack every move. I’d set her down on floor, and right back up.
So cute and fun.

When I mow the fields with my Massey, I drop off the quick change bucket, takes thirty seconds to remove and maybe a minute to reinstall, but my 86 year old father in law leaves it on.

I take the whole loader frame off. It doesn’t take any longer than taking the bucket off, thanks largely to the single lever hydraulic connector that connects all the hoses at once, including the third function. Kubota really got it right in that department.

To do that it would require buying a Jackfruit from the produce department instead of canned. The jackfruit is the size of a watermelon. I'm sure I could manage to cut a few "pork chops" out of that. Then pan fry the jackfruit with chopped onions and garlic then simmer in BBQ sauce, it could work. I really like the new BBQ sauce I found, it is a sweet BBQ sauce.

Lightning is really putting on a show tonight. No rain yet, maybe around 3a.m.. I'm sure whipper will have to be comforted when the thunder gets loud. Tempest weather station says lightning is now 0-2 miles away.

53F and clear @ 22:30, heading down to a low of 47F overnight.

Got hopper feeder filled first thing.

After that worked on the frame for the 55G drum for the Water Buffalo while The Woman weeded. Got the bottom cross pieces cut to the correct length. Cut a bunch of drops up for cribbing and got all the nails pulled out of the stuff that was truly scrap. This little guy kept an eye on me whilst I did that:

Took the scraps up to the burn pile and dropped off the cribbing at the shop.

Came back and used the battery string trimmer to mow down the weeds between the frog pond and planting bed on the east side.

Took a quick trip to the back to scope out those "flowers" The Woman asked about. Here's what I found:

IMG_1700 copy.jpg

Yup, we'll take them.

After that I mowed the front lawn which took around an hour or so. Barn swallows have returned ... in force. Probably better than a half dozen buzzing me while I mowed.

Once I was finished with that I went around to the back and helped The Woman who had been weeding since around noon. Got some weeding done around the day lilies and a number of plants (day lilies and peonies) labelled.

About the time we were knocking off for dinner neighbor friend from up the street called The Woman to see if She had an extra can of beans for something she was cooking up. So she came down to get those and while she was here I went around dug out the volunteer blue-green hosta and stuck it in a pot for her, as I had promised her some and it was the easiest one to get to.

After that we ate dinner - worked some more on the ribs and finished them up. Got my baked potato in the deal too ... (y)

All in all a reasonably productive day with some progress made.

Hope everyone had a good one ... (y)

David, if Sophie is going to carry her chainsaw around in the bucket, tell her that I did once. I accidentally tipped the bucket down without realizing and chainsaw fell out. Next thing I felt a bump as I ran over it. Bar was in the shape of a figure S.

Ouch. Can definitely see that happening. I’ve managed to jounce a thing or two from the bucket. I hope to make something to hold both the chainsaw and weedeater more secure.

The only time I put tools in the bucket is either right when we're starting a project and they'll be taken out at the work site, or when we're done and the tools / tractor are going back to the garage.

I think I have just been fortunate that I remember they are in the bucket....

Hmmm, braggart

Ironically, it is the people out in the country that suffer the least when there’s a huge power outage.. People in the city just don’t generally have generators.

Hmmm, why do I take a bit of pleasure in that

While my bucket is off probably 99% of time I mow, I have never taken off the whole FEL, but it looks extremely easy with this BX

Don't forget tomorrow, and every Tuesday is "Tummy Rub Tuesday". everyone with kittens or cats has to post a pic their feline's tummy so we can rub it.

i think Simba would feel neglected if he only got a tummy rubon Tuesday. Very spoiled - likely like most GM pets.

Good Evening All from the West, it's already tomorrow-today in some places. Morning in the East.

Did a burn today, cleared up a lot of stuff.

   / Good morning!!!! #150,337
Good evening. Beautiful day here with a morning low of 1.1C. Cloudless and calm and the high was 16C.

Today was the last of the signage down so it's back to 'normal. Into town tomorrow for coffee with a few of the local Veterans and then my weekly grocery shopping.

Looks like a couple of more horses are going to be agisted here (between me and my neighbour) around the end of June. My neighbour and I don't have a problem with that but the owners are going to have to come to some agreement on sharing of their hay. I can store it OK in my shed. I charge the exorbitant amount of a bottle of Pinot Noir every now and then. ;)

Good morning, low temp 35 and going to a high of 64°F. Wind E 2 mph.
A mix of sun and cloud.

We had a touch of rain yesterday morning and my get up and go got up and went, somewhere.
64° is a little cool for painting, but time is running out for this project and I want it almost done except for the spring before I go back to work.

check, Saturday nights' rain helped the water table and we didn't get much in the way of wind. Thankfully.

Roy, the reason doctors call their job a 'practice' is because if they practice enough they might get good.

I am starting to entertain thoughts of retiring this fall or next spring. Time will tell.

Have a safe day all
