23F and "Fair" @ 07:00, headed up to a high of 42F with sun for the day.
Hopper, two sunflower tube, and one suet feeder refilled yesterday, plus some cracked and whole corn laid down for squirrels and deer.
Got old flue pipe removed, was in really bad shape ... probably from over-firing when burning paper. Will need to watch that in the future.
Also managed to extract the old damper which appeared to be in decent shape.
A good bit of vacuuming to clean up all the mess from that, but still more to do directly behind gas furnace. Other vacuuming done as well.
Plugged the entrance to the chimney with old plastic bags.
Got stainless steel sheet metal screws (and string for tin cans for fence) from out in the garage and brought them downstairs to screw the pipes together. Still having trouble getting the seam on one pipe to seat.
Local hardware only had one elbow, need two ... so a trip later over to their other location which is a little further away. Supposedly they have six of them in stock, but will call to verify before I head over. Looks like I may need another two foot section of flue pipe as well.
Scrubbed and hosed down old squirrel feeder. Had intended to spray it with bleach, but the spray bottle I put the bleach in wouldn't spray ... will have to find another one today.
Got angles cut on boards for new hopper feeder, also slots cut for the plexiglass.
Mounting board attached to roost box and roughed up the dowels for the perches with some sandpaper.
Some kitchen clean up and dishes done.
Did some labelling on the plant labels, pen tip is plenty small/fine enough ... now just need to see how the paint holds up out in the elements.
Tried the Moo Shu Shrimp for dinner from the local Chinese place, was actually very good. Woman even commented on it after having some (and she said she wasn't hungry ...

)
Broached the subject of the possibility of staying home for the Holiday and not going over to relatives. We'll see ... but it's not looking good.
COVID-19 cases in Ohio are way up ... approaching the peak in 2020, with the worst of it concentrated here in Northeast Ohio. Governor has deployed 1,000 National Guard to help with hospital overload.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Monday ...
