I’m a whimp compared to you Don. Looks good though I’ve seen enough to know

Ken I was just feeling sorry for myself I’ll do better

Great news Drew thanks for all Gods blessings

66°F and 2.86 inches rain.

Definitely too wet to mow. Will be an inside day.

Finally solved a mower mystery, the toe in problem on the red Craftsman. I had replaced most of the wearable parts and finally quit in frustration. Yesterday, my friend Dave decided it was his turn. Rather than lifting with the floor jack he used a strap from rafter. Rather quickly he found the frame was cracked right at the front axle. Same frame I had mended earlier this year.

Guys won at head and foot.

Prayers for
Be safe
Have a great day

Good afternoon. Being outside looses some of it's appeal to me in winter when the days are dull and damp. This morning I was out setting mole traps in the hay meadow by the drive. It took longer than I expected because the wet soil was slightly reluctant to reveal the path of the underground tunnels. I find drier soils are easier, then there is more friction, which makes the difference between soil and airspace easier to detect when pushing down the probing rod. Or maybe it is because in conditions like today I wear gloves to keep out the cold and that decreases sensitivity of touch ?? Too much thinking ...

Ron, good to hear the bland food is helping Sassy.

Another nice thing about the electric chainsaw is the slow rate of cut.
I like the relative quiet too, can hear much better how the tree is reacting to the relief of tension.

Looks nice doesn’t it
Bups, it will look fine once the stiches are out and healed. How come you have so few wrinkles ? Is it the upside to all that Vaseline after past treatments ? :)

Drew, Christmas presents don't come much better. (y)

Don, I will be thinking of your knee each time I zip up my jacket. :giggle:
I wouldn't be surprised if your wife has a special Advent calendar this year - counting down the days until she can pull those staples !

Good news on your scan Drew!

That knee is ugly Don.... 😲

   / Good morning!!!! #142,768
Sheesh Don. I don't know what to say. I hope that works out for you, really.

I think a refund may be in order for that work though. I have had some serious experiences with stitchery and have not come across something that - invasive. For the lack of a better word.

I hope you heal well. Get well soon.

Rich, thank you so much for sharing your ordeal, and in such detail. A bit like a good book I guess and even knowing the outcome I found myself a bit misty eyed reading this last entry. Glad you survived.

Here is the frame break on 1 side
IMG_9095.JPG

Note about 1/2 difference in height.
The other side is still aligned, being held together minimally at top, but still cracked thru enough to see daylight.

A brief look thru Craigslist and I am reluctant to fix. My poor (lack of) welding skills considered. Assuming any fine print would negate any warranty replacement which is part only, not labor. I think I’d be lucky to get even close to $500 if fixed so I’ll sell it for less “as is” as I’m sure there is value in the parts.
Only another 3 months and Sophie’s BX should be here and it had been my intent to sell this one anyway to make room in the tractorshed.

That got me thinking of the design of the human body. Why does it not have zippers, or access panels? Was it not designed to be repaired? That's like making a car and welding the hood shut. Ah, too deep of thoughts, nap time.

Sophie is getting her own BX? (y) (y)

nice lunch with friends at some place named after a frog near Harleysville.
Drove right past Popgadgets farm and waved both ways.
Friends gave me a gift certificate to Tractor Supply for Christmas. I promised them I'd get something
fun, a toy..., and not motor oil. My friend's wife is still working very part time at age 71 doing IV work at Grandview Hospital.

She said the hospital was almost full of Covid patients
and they were about to go into emergency measures, including diverting patients.
yikes
this nastiness is back
And I'm thinking while I'm eating lunch in this local restaurant with not very well spaced tables and no one but us wearing a mask coming in and out, well these nice folks are the same community of people filling up the hospital...it's their local hospital. Now what does that tell me about the folks in that restaurant? I couldn't wait to put my mask back on and get out.
If I get sick, I'll know from where. Hopefully having had three Moderna shots I have some protection.
But truly who knows.
Washed my hands and face well when I got home.

Don, you are right. Access panels, lube fitting at L5, port and how about hair that doesn't fall out?

And so you should.
PT just left, now on elevation and ice. I'm up to 73˚ bend without machines, up from 67˚. By the end of next week I'm still expected to do 90˚ on my own. Lots of work to do. I am missing H&F cards but that is too much sitting right now when I should be doing PT exercises.
today along with the regular torture I learned the best way to get in and out of the car with bum knee using a strap around my foot.

Is the covid the new omicron variant?

I asked and she didn't know Don. I'm going to ask again; she can find out next time she goes in, only works once a week, mostly retired.
I'm reaching out to others locally to find out what they know about the two hospitals closest to us.

hmmm. Got one reply, wait last week at local hospital, St. Mary's, was 15 hours for emergency room treatment. yikes

The scouts had a sleepover on the battleship New Jersey- Kids really liked it, bunks weren't too bad either.

I didn’t go when our scouts did a sleepover on the New Jersey. My son said they took a wrong turn in Camden and wasn’t sure they would get out.

Home again. 2097 miles.

For three years while running a company in West Trenton NJ I was determined to meet every one of our 650 customers in NJ, mainly every title insurance agency in the State.
The company I wound up being GM of had a 95 percent market share of its product, a certified public records search done in every court house of NJ electronically. Our company maintained the master database created by an army of data collectors. And so over three years I went from the mountains in NW NJ to Cape May at the far other end.

There was only one county seat, one city, where absolutely no title agencies had an office within the corporate limits.
Only one. Camden. The downtown was so bad everyone had left. And where I went in the "suburbs" of Camden was a bit worrisome.
I think I hit my door locks six times.

Poor Camden. Lot of money has been spent there revitalizing that river front. Other than the battleship, not sure they have a great deal to show for it.
