Rich, your story brings back bad memories. Almost at the same time I was incontinent in a hospital bed in NC, no control over it, had some cognition issues, and catheter kept slipping off.
Night nurses aide obnoxious stupid woman, thought I was pulling out catheter to just make work for her, while here I was embarrassed like you were and
had no control over that part of my body. Thankfully it all came back in three weeks and I was normal ever after.
But on the third week of this as I'm lying in misery in a pee soaked bed, with the catheter fallen off, she came in and left in a big huff,
but not after giving a rather sensitive part of my body more than a love tap. It was a swat. I was dumbfounded. I'm sure I could have gotten her fired.
But I did tell the shift nurse and never had that miserable person as a night aide again. Actually shortly thereafter I got better and went to rehab.

brief trip downtown, still misting out, feels cold

57 going to 62 later, very cloudy with light rain in the area.
Buppies, Don, take care guys.

I decided this was clean up my guns day, I was going to go back to the creek and do some plinking with my air guns, but the rain changed my plans.
I got the Remington 12ga pump cleaned up first and it needed it. Then I got out my old model 70 30.06, it was a mess too, I should be ashamed of myself for letting them get that bad. Mom’s Remington bolt action.22 that she got the year I was born has a six round magazine that has come apart. I’ll have to see if it can be fixed or replaced. It’s the best shooting of the three .22’s I have although I rarely shoot any of them anymore. Only one left to clean up is mom’s old bolt action, not sure that’ll be today. I did buy a new plinker the other day, 495 fps Gamo CO2 with 16 shot magazine, it’s smooth bore so long range accuracy is not it’s long suit, but it’s fun and cheap to shoot.

Up way too early cannot sleep
Prayers Bupps, I hope you can get some sleep, and a fast return to normal.
Good morning all. It has been a very pleasant day so far, with neither wind nor rain as we slipped and slid in muddy sheep pens. The last of the tups are now out and on their way home over the hill.

It is not often that the region I live in (North Shropshire) makes the headlines, but it has today. The member or parliament representing this area was forced to resign in disgrace last month after been caught breaking rules for receiving money while promoting the interest of certain businesses. An election had to be held and normally it would be a forgone conclusion that the replacement would also come from the same political party, as Conservatives have done here ever since 1830. Not this time though, after almost two hundred years this "safe" seat has had enough and decided it is time for a different party, giving a local lady called Helen Morgan a chance to put an end to the sleaze. She could prove to be a doer, instead of just a talker and taker, it's good to at least have hope ...

BEF, thought of your dad last night while my wife was considering how best to string lights where there was only a short stunted branch on our Nordic fir. The Christmas tree now has a fresh extension zip tied into place :)
Eric, maybe because of all the new development in your area? Hope the newby is a doer.

Rip, lights look nice. I like how you keep the "sunny side up".

Don, I enjoy that you always seem determined to do "better than the norm". Hope the knee gets better with good movement.

Mostly, did y'all have a fish fry at club party?

W7Bob, welcome and serious snow rig there. Have you had it long?

Problems sleeping here too. I go to bed around 10-1030 and then often wake up around 3, having trouble going back to sleep. Go to couch and put on old WWII documentaries to put me back to sleep.

This morning I watched a host of Modern Marvels and Crime shows until it was nearly dawn, then I woke the son up and asked if he wanted to fish, he said yes and slid on out of bed. It was a chance to fish while it was still warm. We had to hurry, because storms/cool front were coming. By the time we got out there, it was past prime time according to solunar table. Fishing was slow. I caught 2 crappie, and son only 1 perch. Not seeing many bass. I'm figuring the blue herons and greater white egrets have taken their toll. Our pond's water turbidity is really clear. At least 3 feet of visibility.

Mostly is right, the electric end on the roughneck welder is old, and I don't want to sink any money in it. Might part it out. Unit is maybe 45 years old. I was talking to a friend about it, and he has an old Miller 150 mig welder. He's had trouble getting the drive rollers. I found one on Amazon for $57. If Miller had them in stock, only $39. Anyway, he's interested in an Everlast Power MTS251si, I told him about Mark online here offering them cheaper than Amazon.

We got driven inside as the storms neared, but I quickly got on the 4310 and ran the scarifers of the box blade through the garden. Then ran inside as it started pouring, just as I finished.

Last night, I worked on upcoming Sunday School lessons. I hope to make the class as interesting as possible.

Need a nap.

Prayers for our team, and our country.

64°F and.98 inches rain
Likely too wet to mow.
About 5 1/2 hours of mowing yesterday, but expensive. I managed to flail my iPhone. It didn’t survive. Not even the Sim.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Light snow falling...really pretty and I've pulled the deck door drapes back so I can watch the snow while watching TV (still "Babylon 5...last 2 episodes of season 1...4 more seasons to go).
Maybe a eighth inch now...snow to continue (if the forecast holds) until tomorrow morning...that's when I'll start the clean up. Forecast is for 5-8 inches...I hope we get the maximum

You could try putting your phone in a bag of rice for a while, Drew. The rice is supposed to draw the moisture out. If it's sunny out, you could try putting the bag out in your truck, parked in the sun to warm it up.

Don't think that'll help with David's iPhone, though.
Did you have insurance on it, David?
More importantly, was the data backed up?

Good evening! A decent nights sleep with only one wake up 2p, one wake up for pain meds and one wake up at 2AM for the loud lightning strike. One inch of rain this morning.

It was a good day on machines - Knee Motion and cold water. However I was not able to increase my knee flex to 80˚ today like I had planned, could only go up to 79˚, but was stretching it to the max tightness. Physical Therapist called right after I completed the first set this morning and said she would be there in 20 minutes. I did a decent "performance" even though the pain killers did not have sufficient time to work. She said she will give me more notice in the future.

Mom had her Christmas dinner today with the family there, except us. We were able to face-time with everyone there.

Continuing on, slow and steady healing.

Edit: the knee flex machine was set up with my old knee joint which had shrunk shorter with the declining meniscus. Now that the leg is a bit longer I pulled out the leg adjustment and that affected the real angle of the bend so I’m up to 82 degrees on my last hour session for today.

Good evening all. 47F for the start, windy, overcast, 1/3 inch in rain gauge. Thunderstorms loud last night, but not a lot of rain. Windy day, overcast most of day, then partly cloudy. High temp was 50F and low temp forecast to be 35F at midnight. Bike ride first thing this morning, only 40 miles with the less than optimal riding conditions. Dogs were not as aggressive as usual in the area we rode, had dog spray ready but not needed. Nap after getting lunch and wood stove going.

Just Apple Care+. A reading of the details makes me believe disintegration via flail not covered. Backed up to icloud.

Made the trip into AT&T for replacement sim. Pretty easy. I’ll put in my old 6s+ until I get replacement phone.

Great progress, Don. 🤙🤙

I only had partials on both knees. Surgeon did not set me up with PT, but gave me exercises to do on my own. I also got a recumbent bike, which I still ride almost every day. Dr would always check my progress and was happy, but I don’t remember the degrees. I did make the mistake of complaining how hard those initial days were. He laughed, but wasn’t sympathetic. Timing my pain meds was important.

Just so we know what not to buy, what kind of phone mount were you using?

I suspect maybe hasn’t aged well, coupled with a rough ride. I should have been paying more attention. Normally I would have been listening to music, but had forgotten to charge the earphones.

2021-12-19, 0400

29° and that's where it's going to stay all day. Looks like a good 8" of snow. I haven't been out but looking at the accumulation on the deck railing. Still a fine snow steadily coming down.
Too early to go out now...I'll plug the tractor in around 0500 and get outside around 0600. I actually like snow blowing early (0400) but it'll wake my wife and, especially Margeaux (who's a sweetie, but barks at almost everything, including falling leaves, birds and squirrels.
Margeaux, who is primarily Great Pyrenees, really enjoys the snow. If only I could focus all that energy into snow shoveling!!

Added:
After clearing the snow, which should take an hour plus a bit (driveway, walks and part of the back deck), nothing else planned...just help the wifey out. Looking outside again, the snow is really got some branches hanging low and has stuck to the chain link fence...wet snow. If this had been a dryer snow, reckon we'd have gotten closer to a foot. Definitely going to spray anti-stick on the snow blower chutes!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 27° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 32° with partly cloudy skies. Yesterday was a conserve energy day. It went so well. I think I will give it another try today. Sassy is doing better.
Woodpeckers have been very active lately.

David, not sure that phone holder is made to hold one on a tractor. Mine stays in my pocket while on tractor or mower.

Mostly, Picture is at bottom of this post. I need to wash tires.

Drew, one of my friends that I worked with told me that story about being on a ship during the Vietnam War. The NJ was firing her big guns from further out. When the projectiles came over the top of their ship you could hear the woosh woosh it made. A very iry sound.

Buppies and Don, hope you are both feeling better.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

good Sunday morning all.
well the white stuff may arrive this morning, light snow showers until clearing and a sunny day. 39 out now, so the snow
should melt when it hits ground. I know I brought it on by putting in those driveway markers yesterday...

hope everyone continues to heal this morning.
Roy, have fun in the snow but watch your step.
Ron, one of the nicest UTV's I've seen.

Good morning, low 5 high to 10°F. Wind N11 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

We've gotten about 2" overnight. I will go out and scrape it off at about 9. Block heater plugged in at 6.

I dumped the bag of watersoftener salt into the unit this morning while the woodstove was restarting from coals.

I find that Beech makes the best overnighters and leaves me with big coals to restart the fire in morning. The only wood I have is Maple, Oak Beech and some Yellow Birch. Very little white Birch.

The hardest part of plowing today will be moving the tree that came down.
After that, see what comes along.

Have a safe day all
