Talking about trucks. My Ranger is the first truck I have owned. For once I didn't have to get the Honda out and hook up the trailer to pick up my turf. The guy just lifted it in to the back of the Ranger on a pallet with his fork lift. So easy compared to hooking up a trailer especially with my bad hands. Makes life a lot easier.
Get a pic, we are looking for Ford Rangers in work action here.

With temps getting into the twenties tomorrow morning I picked the rest of the Meyer lemons and about 1/3 of the kumquats today to make marmalade tomorrow. It will be tart because I’m using little sugar.

44˚F now and temps are dropping. Only one day of freezing temps (tomorrow) for the next 9 days.

A bit of greenhouse progress.
The EMT tubes sized, bent, and installed. Poly panels cut to size but not installed.

Agree about the through bolts, decided the eye bolts could double as useful attachment points. Did consider drilling thru at the nut if I could do so without damaging the threads.

Microwave for caretaker unit got delivered.

Removed the plastic container from tote. Canada Dave has suggested we split in half for 2 planters. Sounds like a great idea.

Prayers for the people in the path of the horrible tornado.

Last night, I heard the weather talk of the possibility of tornadoes. I had a bad dream about a tornado last night....woke me up early.

I took a short nap today. I only got the cover off of the welding end of the roughneck. It is caked with dust so bad, I can't see what color any of the wires are. Need to blow it out good. Only 1 mud daubers nest so far I pulled off. Trying to figure out the least complicated way to get the engine off. Hopefully, won't have to disconnect much of the wiring.

Son built a fire for the fireplace. The test was on, to see if he could build it so that it would go from a cold fireplace to a good fire, with only 1 match and no added kindling/paper. He succeeded. (y)

Like Don said, very close to freezing tomorrow morning. Our first. I mowed yesterday with the Steiner Beast, and only went in 1 direction to blow the leaves away. Yard looks nice a green today. Expecting it to go dormant tomorrow.

I cooked some locally picked frozen black eyed peas along with some ham. Cooked them a tad long, they are very soft.

Is it just me, or does it seem that crime is on the rise? We had 2 smash and grab (from cars) here last week. In another case, the paper said that a family went to the mall in College Station, and the husband stayed in the truck....Unknown to a group of men who attempted to break into said truck....It said they ran off when they figured out someone was inside....I'm wondering if he was packing heat? Years ago, maybe 15, there was a high profile case of a guy who caught a thief in the act of auto burglary/theft, near the party street of 6th street in Austin. The guy ended up shooting the thief in the back, even though he was running away. There was a trial to prosecute the truck owner. I don't remember hearing how it turned out, but I do remember that the case of the shooter was going to be guilty, unless the thief had anything from the truck's interior on his person. Didn't matter if he had stuff and then threw it down in the dark of night. I believe the jury was hung, and the guy got off, but not certain.

Anyhow, I'm glad I live in the country, with no porch pirates. I have heard of a car driving around stealing stuff from mail boxes. Need more jails and stiffer sentences.

Prayers for our team and our country.

Coffee taste very good this morning. 27° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 44° with plenty of sun. Lots of wind and power outages yesterday. Lucky I was only out for a few hours. Whole house generator ran very good. Going to have lots of branches to pickup today.

Mostly, Ha, I thought my answer was being a Smart A. 😃 No savings on Utilities bill. Whole house generator runs on NG.

Kyle, no porch pirates here either. My porch is at back of house. I send bad reviews for anyone that leaves a package at front door.

Randy, Don and Buppies, special prayers for recovery and future procedures.

Prayers and best wishes to everyone.

Good Morning All.

Drew, it has been almost a month since my neighbor came down with Covid. Dr. has released him to go back to work tomorrow. But still has vacation time to use up. Will return to work 1/3/22. At 38 years old he has never been as sick as he was before Thanksgiving. Thought he was going to die. Good to have him back to healthy. We work very well together. He is a little to Fussy at times. Probably like I was at his age.

Yep, Christmas is coming, and Winter, too. This morning, our temperature is 30 degrees, but just 10 miles north of us at the Denton Airport it's showing to be 22. Now population continues to grow at a tremendous rate around here, new home and new apartment construction everywhere, as well as new businesses. And being a naturally early riser, I usually do what grocery shopping we need as soon as the stores open. So maybe I'm just out of touch, but I sure got a surprise yesterday,

Margaret has an advanced case of COPD, is on oxygen 24/7 most of the time, and doesn't even get out of the house more than a couple of times a month, and even then just rides with me and doesn't get out of the car most of the time. But she decided yesterday that she'd like to go to the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall to do a little Christmas shopping. The stores there open at 10 a.m. and we got there at 10:01, got the closest parking spot to the entrance. Margaret always uses her Rollator, and I took mine, too, so I would always have a handy place to sit if I were waiting on her.

So Margaret was looking for just small Christmas gifts for 5 adults and 2 little ones (our great grandkids). Of course she's always liked to look and shop slowly. To say I was shocked at the crowds that promptly arrived would be an understatement. And there's a huge food court; lots of well known companies have spots and seating for thousands. Well, for the first time ever, we had to look for a seat to eat lunch.

We were there just over 4 hours; longest Margaret has been out in quite a while, and she found everything she wanted to find. So it was a very nice day. And when we left just after 2 p.m., the parking lot was about full and cars waiting in the aisles for a parking spot to open.
