Soph’s ophthalmologist liked what he saw today. Scheduled her for eye exam for glasses in a month and back to him a month later. Guess I’ll have to seriously start considering my own cataracts, but likely try to put off until after DL renewal.

Roy glad fork unloading went well, enjoy Margeaux when she gets there.
Yeah, I really appreciate my neighbor doing the job...he and his tractor did all the work.
Saturday we pick up Margeaux and let her settle in. I'm getting my 2nd COVID shot tomorrow (Friday) afternoon and hope I don't have the bad reaction some folks (like my stepdaughter) had. I can hold off a day unshipping and assembling the pallet forks, but I can't put off picking up Margeaux. I don't care how I feel...that pup is coming home Saturday morning!

Frist cup of coffee has been poured. 73° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 89° with mix of sun and clouds. My sister and her husband arrived from AZ yesterday. Lots to catch up on with them. Sassy goes to groomer this morning. Grocery shopping needs to be done.

RNG, I must have missed it. What is a Grizzly Frame?

David, good Sophie had a good Opthamologist visit.

Ken great picture.

Kyle, good luck with Gator carb.

Buppies, hope they get all the C in one visit. Good job towing equipment.

Roy, do you have to assemble pallet forks before you can use them?

Drew, hope reaction to shot is not to bad.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, a clear sky today yet not too hot thanks to a gentle easterly breeze that will keep the thermometers to no more than 20C/68F.

Broadband has been pitifully slow these last few days. Repair man came and swapped over the last spare pair of cores in the cable that runs under the yard. Nice to be able to once again see pictures on here.

Alien, have fun with the ripper, just be careful where you stick it in. I heard they are more effective than a divining rod for discovering unexpected water pipes :)

Kyle, happy anniversary. Ours is the day after yours, fortunately your memory is much better than mine - your pre-emptive posts have kept me out of trouble more than once, I owe you again this year !

Happy Anniversary to the Salops!
(Thanks Kyle for saving Eric, again)

Good morning! No 100˚F, just 96˚F, yesterday. After checking the history on my tempest weather station this has been one of the coolest years. The minimum temperature was on February 16 at 0.3˚F and the max was on July 26 at 99.5 ˚F. With clouds rolling in we will not hit 100˚ this month and probably not this year here, incredible.

Now - 73˚F heading to the mid 90s, clear skies but clouds heading this way.

Yesterday's trail work was still plenty hot with the chainsaw work and dragging branches to the mulcher. After 2 hours I couldn't sweat fast enough and the mulcher had to leave so that was it and it was only 86˚F. Today they are starting at 4 PM when the temp will be in the mid 90s, so I will not be there, there are plenty cool months coming soon enough.

Texas weekly covid cases continue to drop. It looks like we peaked on August 18 at 19,000 new cases a week. Yesterday's 7 day average was 13,000 and is on a downward curve. We still are averaging 200 new cases a day in the county which is down about half.

good morning all.
sunny hot day today back up to low 90's.
trying to wake up with first cup of coffee, feeling a little headachey this morning from Moderna booster, and a little tired, pretty much
what I expected. As long as it doesn't get worse, just will be a low chore day. And maybe a nap.

good school board orientation last night, looking forward to starting and also going on finance and investment committee.
All our investments must be green and fifteen years ago last time on this board myself and another investment adviser restructured
all the investments. Nice to see endowment has doubled in that time.
School has been open since last September, distanced, masked, etc and not one case of covid has gotten into the school.
We all keep our fingers crossed.

headed out for a walk around the local park shortly before it gets too hot.

Happy anniversaries Kyle and Eric.
I only forgot once and that unhappiness prompted me to put the date in my annual calendar to keep repeating each year.

Roy, do you have to assemble pallet forks before you can use them?
It's just a matter of mounting the forks on the frame...one man job...two might make it a bit easier since those tines go 90 lbs. each
If you look on YouTube, some remove the forks when stowing the frame in an out building. My neighbor has a large enough shop that he keeps the tines mounted on the frame and has a dolly to move it around.
Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury. My forks will be sprayed with some kind of preservative when not in use and left outside on a pallet. I never leave any implements directly on the ground.
The only implement I stash in an outbuilding is the chipper...
