I can assure you that it is NOT normal. Without seeing it closely, I can't say what the problem is, but it could be a number of things; hitch mounted in the bed of the truck too far back is the first thing that comes to mind, but may not be the cause. He needs to have an experience hitch installer check it.

72 and ground fog. Going to 93.

RNG, very interesting water pressure dilemma...glad you are getting good input.

Sounds like a dead wind day, so once the dew dries, will mix up 50 gallons and spray.

Got a roofer coming this afternoon for an estimate. We went to their "showroom" yesterday. They also do decks...use a brand called Wolf made of PVC rather than composite, like Trex, etc. but will do some research since I want to build that project myself. The roof shingle color we want is temporarily not available due to the C virus impact. GAF is only making 3 colors...wife is okay with one so we may green light the project after a couple more estimates. Next estimate will be a roofer that uses a different company's shingles so they may have our color.

Thanks for the tips y'all. I will say that on smooth paved roads, it rode OK. But add some bumps, it made it shake. Hopefully the airbag hitch will work much better.

Have you considered a metal roof? They last a lot longer, are more hail proof, and can get you a good discount on home insurance.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 5:00 AM. Abundant sunshine. Visibility reduced by smoke. High 88F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

That's quite a rig, Kyle, even to the color coordination. We took the neighbor's goose neck trailer to the scrap yard yesterday, and I couldn't even tell it was there on the trip down and back. The first and last five or so miles are pretty bumpy country roads, too, but we only had 500 pounds of steel for payload.

That one and only water truck delivery was pumped to the high tank via the drain line, Eric, so that should have purged it. I've also fed the low tank a couple hundred gallons from the high tank, again through the drain line. But what I can do, since the trench is still open, is lift the drain line and sort of walk it up the hill starting at the bottom, and that will maybe force any bubbles up the hill and burp them into the high tank. I also haven't tried to draft water from the high tank with the fire truck yet. That's the whole reason for the high tank, and as soon as I get the trench filled in I'll move the truck within suction hose range and we'll see.

Those Rowan berries look an awful lot like what we get on hawthron trees here, Eric. Wonder if they're in the same family. Do Rowan trees have thorns like hawthorns?

I haven't seen it mentioned in the Austin dialog yet, but my guess is it has the same kind of problems with homelessness as most towns in California. Chico, CA is one of them, too, but in the last election, five of the seven city council seats were won by folks that feel offering a hand up, rather than a hand out, is a more appropriate response to the problem. First thing they did was ban a state run hypodermic needle hand out program, and the next thing was was ban camping in public parks. The parks have been destroyed, physically, by transients: filth and needles everywhere, feces and trash in the waterways and creeks, crimes including murder in the parks. But a lawfirm filed a suit against the council and got a stay in enforcing the ban until the city can come up with an alternate housing plan for the homeless. Apparently in another case in another state supreme court it was ruled that you can't arrest people that can't afford campground fees and who insist in camping on public property. So now even small towns across the country are being forced into housing people at taxpayer expense. That kind of legal maneuver does nothing to help the homeless, it only prolongs and enables their squalor, drug abuse, criminality, and poor decisions.

We made out pretty well at the junk yard yesterday. We were all set to snag a pile of brand new rectangular and square tubing, but the forklift driver said it belonged to the owner who had just purchased it for one of his projects. :ROFLMAO: Still lots of choice for alternates, and I think we're good for the grizzly frame now. We even found a 1" grid mesh made from really heavy wire that will work fine for screening out soil. I was able to get the front part of the grizzly tacked together and up on some sawhorses to finish welding. Had to stop when the wind kicked up and blew the shield away, though. So that's on the agenda for first thing today.

Good morning! 68 now, supposed to be 89 later. Yesterday was steamy working outside, guessing today will be worse…..

Have rented a storage unit for years….kept saying it needed to go. Yesterday was the day. Stuff I wanted came home, including some items that are for sale, some stuff went to the dump, and found someone near the storage unit to haul some stuff away. Then came home and found a place to put stuff. Just glad it is done

Yes Ron, I am on vacation this week. We have to use our vacation time before our anniversary date. I had 102 hours left at beginning of August, got it used up.

Not sure what type of trouble I will find today

Everyone stay safe out there

Morning all, sun is out and it seems rain is finally moving out.
Got kids rear bike tube changed out and some other small stuff done. Starting to feel a bit better.
Maybe time for a new larger chain saw?

Still need to change oil on tractor and do a generator check. Wife had to go into work today and alarm people here later to check faulty sensor.

RNG - I measure the trees when they hit the ground, average for the Ash we are taking down is about 90' tall. So Drew's could easily be in that range. Like the indirect measure video, quite useful.
For the water pressure, is their any increase in pipe diameter at gauges?
Air could be the culprit, but using a larger diameter at the top to a smaller one will increase pressure if you need a free boost at the tank.

Stay safe and be well

That's interesting, Ken. The drain line coming down from the upper tank is 2" HDPE, and it necks down to 1 1/4" PVC for the last ten feet at the gauge location.

Perhaps a sign that there is still a lot of air in the line is that I can feel the pressure under my thumb rise and fall in a kind of wave when I pull the gauge off and cover the hole with my thumb. I don't think it would do that if the air was purged out of the line.

Yes you can get a discount for a metal roof from most insurance companies. Usually they will also add an exclusion for cosmetic damage from hail. So, that means if the metal roof is damaged by hail, no matter how bad it might look, if there is no water intrusion they won’t have to pay anything.

Watch out for those exclusions. Also, be sure you know if the policy will pay Actual Cash Value only or if Replacement Cost is included in the price.

And there is no such thing in the insurance business as ‘full coverage’, legally.

86, feels like 95 at 10 am. High of 90 predicted.

I discovered that somehow last week I lost three prescriptions I’d picked up. If I have to pay out of pocket it will be around $700.
No idea where when or how.

RNG, what certain municipalities and courts with a certain mindset don’t seem to grasp, is that you can’t break bad habits by enabling them.

Love the new building ramps, the concrete is just better in every way.
We took the El Camino to the resto shop yesterday. Should be done late fall or early winter. Hopefully it’ll be show worthy and cruise ready when it comes back.
