Sorry to hear about the truck damage, Roy. I suspect most, if not all, of us have had days like that.

Don, you asked about the effect of the last Covid-19 shot. I understated my results. I got the yard mowed yesterday, but began to wonder if I was going to be able to finish. So I got a shower, and then just felt lousy the rest of the day. In fact, I went back to bed for a couple of hours, got up just after noon; didn't even feel like eating, went back to bed about 4:30 and didn't get up until after 4:30 a.m. this morning. Now I think I'm all over it and back to normal (well, normal for me, anyway).

They keep referring to the eccentric folks there, touting tshirts saying Keep Austin Weird.

66F and partly cloudy @ 07:00, high of 87F predicted for the day.

Filled hopper feeder and fed downstairs cat first thing yesterday.

Put pre filter for Cub out in the sun to finish drying.

Finished screening compost I had set out to dry, screened compost pile now replenished.

Graded trail along property line in the woods.

Removed more of east side rock retaining wall behind pole barn, ground still pretty wet.

Broke for lunch.

Mowed rest of lower front after I re-installed the air filter, then worked some more on finishing up down here around the house. Still some left to do.

Trimmed branches of neighbor's apple tree which had fallen over about 10 years ago but is still alive (just barely) I had offered to help him remove it at one point and and toss the debris on the burn pile but he declined at the time, said he and the boy would get to it ... he just didn't say when ...

At any rate, the branches were growing into a couple of our evergreens and shading them out so I went after it with the loppers. Think I still have some to do with the Stihl pole saw.

Saw this guy - black swallowtail - while I was screening soil yesterday:

Think it might be a male ... apparently, they are territorial.

Dogwoods are starting to turn.

69F cloudy slight breeze near 80 for high storm affect late afternoon.

Outside chores done E muffin time.

Mrs. new electric range show up at 5pm,30 mins later deliver truck headed down the driveway...new range install old range and ref. gone.

Plans for today...whatever it brings.

Yeah, it really sucks!
Definitely going to be an expensive repair. Truck has just over 130K miles and is (was) in excellent condition. I hope they don't total it!! That would really suck!
I'll make the claim today, but it'll be a week before I can drop it off for repair. I've got a set of pallet forks being delivered to my work place on Tuesday and will be picking up Margeaux (rescue pup) next Saturday.

No storms yesterday, but it took until 5pm for the dew to finally dry, and so I could mow the Frisbee field, which had gotten very high with no recent activity.

Kyle, sound like an interesting trip over to LA. Are your kids back to school yet?

Buppies, your bear doesn't sound good. Be careful. Glad you got some rain.

Thomas, a tropical storm coming, and just had an earthquake down near Rochester/Portsmouth. It probably wasn't big enough for you to feel.

While waiting for the grass to fully dry, replaced my bush hog with the carry all on the 3 point hitch and did some rearranging of some firewood pallets. Then swapped the carry all for the spray tank and installed the pump. I always take my pump off and fill with anti-freeze when not using the sprayer. Then string trimmed for about a full battery's worth. Felt like I had a RNG or RS kind of a day.

A semi ran me off the road in my first Toyota truck (1978 model)...he lost his brakes and was very grateful I jumped the ditch to get to a field since he was driving in my lane so as not to rear end a car making a right turn in front of him. His insurance rated it a total loss. I took their check, fixed it for less than half the amount, and drove it another 100K+ miles.

I hope you can get yours fixed and be satisfied that it's good as new. What happened to the flag pole?
