Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 4:00AM. Mostly sunny. High 83F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Glad they caught it earlier this time, Randy. Is this something that you catch from other people, or is it an after effect of your earlier surgery? Hope you can get out of there and home so you can rest properly.

Sounds like a fun ride, Drew. Share a video with us so we can all ride along, OK?

Got both trees down yesterday, but due to my poor lumberjacking, the bigger of the two put up something of a struggle. It was leaning down hill, I wanted it to fall uphill, so I rigged chains to pull in the uphill direction with the tractor. But my cuts were bad, and I had to move the chain up higher on the tree for more leverage, but the third pull was the charm. Lots of poison oak around the base of the tree, so now I'm waiting to see where I'll start itching first.

Two days ago I was pushing a pile of manzanita branches with the tractor when everything stopped cold. No instrument display or lights, no engine, no nothing. One of the branches got into the battery compartment and snatched the lead off the negative terminal slick as a whistle. No damage done, and I was able to push it back on without tools and continue working. I was really surprised at how small the battery leads are, probably less than 10 gauge. That doesn't seem to slow the starter down any, a good thing because it gets a lot more use avoiding regeneration by not idling the engine when sitting.

Yesterday when I went to hook the battery back up to the gate, I found a little fence lizard in the plastic battery box. The walls were slick enough it couldn't get out. It wasn't happy about being picked up, but calmed down quickly and just laid there when I put it down. Held it in my hand for a minute or two to make sure it was OK, then let it go again and it shuffled off. It had already lost its tail once, and now gotten itself stuck in the battery box, so it's probably not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

After I hooked the battery up, the gate seemed to work normally, but now it "thinks" that open is closed. It's supposed to close itself after three minutes, but now it opens itself after it's closed for three minutes. Resetting it didn't work, so I get to waste more time on the telephone this morning.

The building department processed the water tank application, and yesterday I got a bill for $737 for the privilege of improving my property under their supervision. They must think money grows on trees.

Got the lines made up for the side shift on the flail mower yesterday at a local hydraulic shop. For some reason they don't stock the needed banjo fittings, but were able to cobble something together. No other surprises on the town run yesterday, and the Kubota dealer has another batch of steel pallets they'd like hauled off. I'll take care of that next week when I go into town for part two of the flu shot.

TGIF gang!🍻

Good Morning
It’s 39 with a high of 50 expected. Chance of rain this morning, but it’s going to be a nice day overall.

Got all the customs and COVID paperwork taken care of yesterday, so I’m all set to leave for Marsh Harbour and return to the US today. I checked the flight tracker and the plane I’m taking is on it’s way here from FL. So I should be good to go.

The guy from NY came and picked up his speaker yesterday, so for the moment, I’ve only got one in progress. Still have to backfill and sod over septic tank lid and loads of other chores, hopefully we will have some decent weather for the next week or so.

Everybody get or stay healthy out there.

check, if you paint the boat house in a gaudy colour combination then you will always be able to find it on the lake. Myself, I am not a fan of yellow but royal blue walls and bright yellow trim will stand out like a sore thumb.

RNG, you haven't planted a money tree yet?

does anyone have experience with noise cancelling earbuds?
On certain roads the tire hiss really aggravates my tinnitus and the headphones do
a great job tuning it out. I can still listen to music also.

No experience with noise cancelling earbuds, but I have a thing that periodically happens that I think may be related to my tinnitus and am curious whether anyone else has experienced, or is experiencing, similar.

If my iPhone is set at or near highest volume when playing music, watching videos, etc., my ear drum (think it's mostly the right one) "vibrates" to the point of being annoying. This is without earbuds, although it's possible it could happen with earbuds too (I really don't wear them all that often)

Anyone experience anything like that ?

Do not like head phones that fit in the ear Koss pro 4aa still my best bet. I know they are old but still easy on the ear great sound comfortable gel padding. I have had them since late 70s

Prayers for your DIL, L4N.

Thomas, time for some sledding?

Randy, hope you're improving.

RNG, maybe that lizard heard the word and is trying to get you to adopt.

Roasted yesterday, and then took Coco to vet. She is not doing too well.

Morning, sun is out and welcome to Friday.
Had a lone Turkey visit us yesterday, spent about 30 min. wandering around after she chased off a Doe.
Maybe it will dry out enough to cut down some weeds and grass

Randy- I would not call that whining-feel better and hope the meds cure you quick

Sodamo-is that a gas line running across one of the panels. Seems like you are hording electrical boxes :)
Always like your paradise pictures-though it seems you get a lot of rain and pigs(spam) :)

RS - congrats on the new fishies!

Uncle is home doing hip rehab and frustrated that he has to get back into shape again, he is 87 and anxious to get back to his long walks!

RNG - Good luck with the gate-hope it's just a switch somewhere. Branch took the cable off the battery- once in a million chance, time to play the lottery!

Stay safe and be well.

41F and cloudy @ 09:30, headed up to a high of 53F supposedly - that's about 7 degrees below normal for this time of year. Winds out of the northwest later @ 10 to 15 mph.

No specific plans for the day, but if it isn't too bad I might bundle up and venture out on the Kubota and run the mower over the front ... just to prevent the dandelions from going to seed. Probably won't happen though if how it looks right now is any indication.

Otherwise, move some rocks and fish from downstairs tanks up into tank in the living room. Check white worms and see if they need fed again. (Get pic for Drew of barn owl box while I'm down there ... assuming I can remember it ...)

Was talking to The Woman yesterday, think this may be the year that the Simplicity CFC18 gets retired/replaced ... so have some research to do on that.

Get some kitchen clean up in as well, plus whatever else comes over the horizon.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Good morning to all! Low of 40, going to near 70 today. Wind was ripping all day yesterday along with a brown fog of dirt. Chance of rain tomorrow, maybe some snow tomorrow night. High for Saturday and Sunday will only be 45-47°, night time temps in the mid to high 20's.... what happened to spring?

LFN, our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.... We hope she gets some relief and can be comfortable.

Randy, sorry to hear you are in the hospital. Our prayers for a speedy recovery.

Today will be errand day, need to run into the city for a few things. Hopefully won't take too long. Then grill some pork chops for dinner tonight 🤤

Everyone have a great day and start to the weekend!

/ Good morning!!!! #131,578
39°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 61° today.

Got some more grass mowed after work yesterday. Got the lower side of the front from the road back to and around the pond, as well as the area behind the barn back to the burn pile. Will probably finish the rest of the pasture today after work. We're still expecting rain overnight and into tomorrow. Radar shows a big green blob circling around just to the west of us, so we're probably going to get something.

No solid plans for the weekend, so probably just start at the top of the honey-do list and start checking things off as I go. Gotta start somewhere, I guess.

Hope you're feeling better, Randy.

I had a pair of Koss headphones from the early '80s, Buppies, that I only just replaced about a year or so ago. I only replaced them because the foam pads had dry rotted and crumbled. Those things sounded great.

60°F and and .08 inches rain.

The guys got soundly trounced last night. Dinner was excellent.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good afternoon! Threatening to rain but not. 62˚F, 200 lightning strikes the last 3 hours 8 to 20 miles away.

My wife and neighbor friend went to look at some model homes in another neighborhood to get some decorating ideas. This is alway a bad idea. She came back disappointed because all the models were sold, every house under construction was sold and every lot was sold. With all these tech companies moving to central Texas there is a serious housing shortage. Used houses are being sold above listing price, ($10K to $70K above) Realtors will not even consider putting in an offer below asking price. My neighbors house sold in 3 days $50K above asking price. Usually there are 500 to 700 home for sale in town on March 24th there were 76.
Real estate is going crazy here, makes me wonder how long this boom will last???
High lumber prices, Covid slowdowns, etc...I guess it is hard to get new homes built right now. I might call my builder friend in Austin to see how he's doing.
Sorry guys, I’m way behind. I woke up extremely sick yesterday, Ellen drove me to the ER. Septic pneumonia again, 103+ fever most of the day, couldn’t breath, you know, all the good stuff. They put me on three antibiotics and breathing treatments. I’m on Z pack, rocephin and Vancomycin. I’m much better today, fever broke overnight and I woke to a sweat soaked bed. I don’t remember much about yesterday, maybe just as well.

OK, I’m done whining. Hope everyone had a good couple of days. Prayers for the DIL, wives and anyone else in need.
I’ll check in later or tomorrow depending on how I feel.

Bird, thank you, and everyone that wished me well. I’m improving for sure, just not sure how long they’ll keep me. This is the second time in less than two years I’ve had this. Caught this one a bit earlier than previous episode.

I found I’d had a septal myocardial infarction of indeterminate age.
How do you have a heart attack and not know it?

45 this morning going to a windy and chilly 59 today. It’s all the same in here. LOL

Our first cruise in is tomorrow, I’ll
Probably be MIA for that one, someone else will need to pull the club trailer.

I’ll start hounding the doctor to send me home, but I’ll do what he says. I’m certainly not well at this point.
I am glad to hear you're improving, but sorry you're had to get sick again. What does the infarction change? Prayers my friend.
and then took Coco to vet. She is not doing too well.
Oh my wng, I never know exactly what to say, but I know she's your best doggie friend, and you have, and will take the best care of her. It is sad that dog's don't live longer lives. I'm sorry.

reminds me of a video I saw, where a terminal female chimpanzee was laying on her death bed, curled up in a fetal position. A previous caretaker, an older gentleman stopped by to see her before she passed. She was so glad to see him, she recognized him only after he started talking to her. She raised up her head, and they rubbed each other's heads and she was smiling a mile wide.

Prayers for Mostly's wifey, I hope she's feeling better and can get medical care to help things get better. Also prayers for Drew, LS, L4N's DIL, Buppies, Alien, Ken's O2 levels, and for Check to pick the right color to keep wifey happy.

Had a pair of Koss from the '70's. I tried disassemble, and install them in a full face helmet in the 80's, but failed miserably. Also had a decent set of AKG's.

Prayers for our Country and our team.

Off today.

Daughter update...thanks for the prayers. Her boyfriend broke up with her...(her mother and I agree it will be for the better). We try to infer to her, to be herself, and don't throw her better judgement out the window, to placate a friend. This was about a week ago, and she's better now. Wifey and I are going to pick her up from school and take her to lunch.

I bought a new 12 string guitar. I can't play worth a flip, but I like to play for myself and strum some licks. But I mainly bought it for my daughter, and our church. I was hoping it might be a "pick me up" for her. It wasn't a real expensive thing, I found one on Facebook marketplace, but the guy wanted almost full retail. I bought the brand new one for only $30 more than his, plus I had to pay tax.

RNG, be careful on those hills. I think I remember a APF story about you going down a hill out of control......

Rich, that free firewood sounds like a couple of C notes worth. You lucky guy.
