Park playground
Chainsaw muffler fell off, again, ordered new bolt.
Eric no worry here on which month it is before we star the chainsaw.

Noticed my cap had fresh bloodstains, now when did that happen? Need more protective hair.

Good afternoon! 50 now, falling to 29 overnight. Tomorrow is gonna be cold.

Have to get a molar removed tomorrow and get a partial bridge...not looking forward to this.

The internet is fixed. Aaron from Mumbai had changed settings Monday while I was on the phone. Told him not to, he did it anyway. So it went from working with a problem to not working at all. Tech was at the house yesterday, the modem actually did have a problem, everything worked after he redid the settings after replacing it. Not the first time remote tech support has shut off the internet by changing the settings.

Tech also told me he thought a branch hit the lines. Half the customers on the branch I am on lost their cards in the router, other half lost the modems. He has been busy replacing things.

Today has been special on tech calls. One this morning just amazed me how stupid people can be. Rather than fix a heater in a cab, they rigged up an inverter, extension cord, and 110V heater in the cab. Being rotating construction equipment, the cord got tangled and torn, caught the machine on fire. Amazing

Everyone stay safe out there

Officially La Nina is now over. We still have some rain forecast though. The last few showers we got seemed to do the trick as the creeks started running again briefly. Our bore obviously got a top up as we had dirty water flowing for a day or so. Life is back to normal. Grass has returned in time for winter. Most bald patches are now covered and mowing paddocks is all go. We even have a number of quail around now. First time I have actually seen them on our property.

You have to put raw bacon on the end of a string and lower it into the hole. The crawfish will grab hold and you can pull him up slowly.

We use to use what we called streak o lean, side meat, salt fat whatever, works like a charm, but takes a while to get a bushel!

47F and cloudy @ 19:00, headed down to an overnight low of 29F.

Ran by county health department and got first Moderna vaccine shot @ 3:00. There was a line of about a dozen cars ahead of us but things were moving pretty quickly - shot was delivered in the vehicle and we were out of there by 15:25 or so, having waited 15 minutes after getting jabbed.

Scheduled the appointment for the next shot on May 2nd while we were waiting for the 15 minutes to pass. Injection site is a little tender already, nothing terrible though.

Swung by Swensons after that and grabbed a couple of Galley Boys, along with French-fried mushrooms and onion rings which we shared. The Woman had a root beer float and I had a hot fudge malt.

Then we headed up to Menards in the Falls and I returned the incorrect items that they had given me the other day. The young fellow that waited on me went to check on the correct items and surprisingly he located all them and brought them back to Order Pickup and hooked me up ... (y)

Then we headed for the barn.

Fed fish after we got home (didn't get a chance before we left) while The Woman ran over to her friends for a few minutes.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

.6” rain since four, maybe another 1/4” or so overnight.
Went TSC to pick up dog and cat food, litter and treats, had a very heavy downpour coming home.
We had taquitos, refried beans and fiesta corn and nachos for dinner, lots of salsa, enchilada sauce and sour cream.

Rick,
looking good. Is the area outside the fence yours also?
if so, boy do you have job security, and you already had that...
I would call that a glade now, sure looks nice.

growing up my Dad used to call this beating back Mother Nature. If we didn't, the woods would creep in and slowly take over the house.

The pictures are from inside one of our pastures .. about 20 acres. This one .. is our experiment. Other than fence lines and yaupon / cedar removal .. no herbicide has been used, on this pasture.

We've done nothing but mow it .. 2-3 times a year. When we bought this place, in 2006, it was nothing but 3' high goat weed.

Edit: I read your question again and realized what you had asked. The pasture on left side is my neighbors. Even his .. looks way better than what we started with.

Good evening all. 54F for the start, overcast, and windy. Windy day, sky started clearing mid morning wind dies off at dark. High temp for the day was 65F. 80's next week. Forgot to mention yesterday's activities, that included catching gopher out of his hole. He did not run away so the battle ended quickly. The youngest in my house is first to get a COVID shot. What’s wrong with this picture?

.2” of rain, they had forecasted up to 2”. Dots matter

Congrats on getting shot, RS

Mowing works, Rick, but it sure doesn’t take long if you can’t keep up. I’ve already noticed guava seedlings 6+ inches since my last mowing.

Good morning, looks like we are back to cooler windy weather. fortunately no rain in forecast for newt few days, may soon be able to get some muck spreading done on the hay fields.

Arms are aching this morning from an excess of chainsaw and pole sawing to get tree work over April 1st deadline. I failed to get it all finished - although not a badly as I have failed in previous years :)

Don, that is a creepy playground, like something from the Addams Family

Noticed my cap had fresh bloodstains, now when did that happen?

Vampires too in the playground !

Morning all!
43 here going to 50's with dark dreary skies for the day.
Cold and windy in the forecast so conserving energy is where it's at!
Feeling better as I got some sleep last night. Arm is sore but survivable.
If they told me a tetanus shot and a pneumonia shot at the same time would kick your butt I would have waited on one of them!
Looks like wife and I will be venturing out to do some shopping. We need to restock some supplies in case of another lockdown.
Still have a lot of branches to pick up from the downed tree and the whole yard needs raking.
We just lost a good friend and neighbor to her 2 year fight with cancer! They made 50 years married just a few weeks ago. He's fighting cancer also!(Vietnam vet!)
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
