Thomas, a very appropriate April Fool's trick for you.

We got 1.63" of rain, a lot more than the .50 forecasted. It'll be some time before I want to cross the creek bottom with my tractor to get back to my firewood, RNG, so I'll enjoy looking at yours in the meantime. I did have a lot of straight rounds from the trunk, but plenty of crooked ones from the many branches, most of which I brought up to the pallets already.

It's nice to be in control of your fire, rather than mother nature and the power company, right RNG? I'll have to ask my wife if she's named our lizards and skinks, which don't crawl up our leg, but do hang out with us on the porch eating the wren's mealworms.
When it comes to firewood, don't you wish trees were just one long, straight grained trunk?🤗 I did find myself cutting out most of the crotches and twisted limbs, then tossing them on the burn pile yesterday. Just not worth the hassle of trying to break them down on the splitter.

Not sure I'm feeling in control of fire around here, Bill, but it is nice to feel I'm not behind the 8-ball any longer when it comes to firewood. Yesterday within a 25 mile radius of here were three new wildfire starts, one of them an escaped "controlled" burn. A couple days ago, one grew to over 800 acres before they got it out. People are still careless, and from the looks at what went onto the burn pile, things on the ground are drying out fast. It's gonna be a long, hot, and dangerous fire season this year.

Yes, go! I had 4 biopsies plus 5 squirts. Problems can go from treatable to major quickly.
Hope they are all non cancerous. Prayers.
Morning all!
43 here going to 50's with dark dreary skies for the day.
Cold and windy in the forecast so conserving energy is where it's at!
Feeling better as I got some sleep last night. Arm is sore but survivable.
If they told me a tetanus shot and a pneumonia shot at the same time would kick your butt I would have waited on one of them!
Looks like wife and I will be venturing out to do some shopping. We need to restock some supplies in case of another lockdown.
Still have a lot of branches to pick up from the downed tree and the whole yard needs raking.
We just lost a good friend and neighbor to her 2 year fight with cancer! They made 50 years married just a few weeks ago. He's fighting cancer also!(Vietnam vet!)
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
Sorry about your neighbor. I hate cancer. I pray often for cures and healing.
Happy Birthday to me! (No fooling.)

My (non-twin) sister’s birthday, too. And my TA’s birthday - her birthday present is her first shot of the Pfizer vaccine today - LOL.

My birthday present is the Wife driving up from the city with a nice Turkey for Easter. Plus her and the kid prolly have a few surprise presents in store for me.

Meanwhile, SNOW last nite! I thought it was supposed to be over. Not enough to plow or anything, but maybe I should leave the blower on the tractor a bit longer?
Happy Birthday to you all!

They had a poll at work, about reducing Covid rules.

One guy called the radio, and said he was a landlord, and the Covid rules designed to help tenants not get evicted, were costing him a lot. He asked the county and state to reduce his property taxes, because he wasn't collecting rent. Trickle down, up, back and sideways.

Mostly, the pink handled maul started out a red handled maul, but was somehow accidentally left behind one season near a stump. A couple months exposure turned it pink. It still takes a pretty good heave ho to swing it.

I'm about to switch phone carriers.....wifey found a good deal with Boost and got a new motorola (with some coupons) for a tad over $80. Service costs about the same as Republic, but I get 5gb vs 1gb for a nickel more. And no contract. Still uses the Sprint/Tmobile backbone.

Hope all have a blessed day.

somewhat depressed reading my online mri report before going in to doc this morning.
Supraspinatus tendon torn totally in half, no wonder shoulder hurts like mad. Have no idea how it happened.
Have to get this fixed soon.

Happy Birthday Check!

Good morning! This was not suppose to happen they, said 39˚F, it is now 33.3˚F and still falling, potatoes are uncovered. Come on sunshine or the weatherman's April fools joke will be a good one on me.

RNG had to look twice, thought you rigged your chainsaw to your FEL.

Eric, now that you mentioned it, the playground does look kind of gothic. If a vampire was involved in the blood letting yesterday I'm in deep trouble being plant based I will have to find some Blood Weed. It used to grow as tall as a tractor at Grandpa's place.

Edit: 33.1˚F, hurry sun hurry.
2nd Edit: 32.9˚F
3rd Edit: 33.3˚F heading in the right direction finally.

Rich-good luck at the dentists
Drew-sounds painful-hope the dental fix is less complex than it sounds-sorry to hear about your shoulder
RNG-like the new foot accessories :)
Check - Happy Birthday!
wngsprd - hope all the biopsies are neg!

My o2 is still under 90 and I am still pretty weak. But slowly getting better. Falling way behind with spring cleanup and planting.

Stay safe and be well

Happy Birthday, check! Hope the surprises are great! We had snow in our mountains last night, too.

Ken, glad you are improving. O2 that low should get you a day or two out of the dog house.

Don, close call!

30F and cloudy @ 09:30, ground is looking pretty white around here this morning ...

Was hoping we were all done with that ...

Forecast high for the day is only 33F.

Left shoulder pretty tender this morning, most noticeable when I raise my arm. Not unmanageable though.

Woke up to that Squeak racing up and down the hall and carrying on.

Not sure what all will be on the menu today, but it seems like sorting out paperwork and filing would be a good move.

Not sure about mini-ex action - temps are a little bit less than ideal.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

30°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 48° today. Another night below freezing tonight, then we warm back up again over the weekend. Looks like we'll hit the 80s next week.

Last day of the work week for me. Taking a vacation day tomorrow.

Sorry to read about your neighbors, Phil.

Happy Birthday, Check.

RS, nice fish.

Thanks Drew ... not the greatest picture though (front glass was dirty)

(Had to use the pocket flashlight to illuminate him from the side, otherwise the coloration is not all that apparent.)

but can it do this?

LOL ... no.

I do remember when those originally came out ... pretty funny.

by the time you are done you are ready to throw the whole thing in the water
just to shut it up ... what I think is delightful is Al Green got more royalties from the fish singing Take Me To The Water than he did from anyone else singing his song.

(y)

And of course who could forget the Sopranos episode where this fish was the star. I found the episode....ah, nope, two ladies dancing
with not much on at the Bada Bing episode, surely not for prime time

Not me ... don't think I ever saw it.

Hope you can get the tendon issues sorted out in short order ... (y)

Happy birthday check!

40° and snowing.

Worked 1/2 day from home.. my internet has been crawling. It finally dropped my connection.
Leaving soon for 1st COVID vaccine. Son got his, no complaints yet from him.

Spring has my sinuses working overtime.

.31” rain overnight, was sleeting earlier. April fools on the snow here, but it did snow close by at higher elevations

about to go out and cover garden but the sun is out and want them to get as much as they can before temps drop.
So...meanwhile I'm sitting here watching youtube training videos on the Iphone 12 I got this morning at verizon. My old SE was worthless.
They don't even swap numbers for you anymore. Unless you back up to the Apple Cloud, which I never have, they no longer have the machinery/software to perform
that service. This was some large franchise with thousands of offices and they stopped providing the service. I got a referral to a guy downtown a few minutes away for 50 bucks.
What was free now costs 50 bucks. Amazing. This franchise would do it for 30 if I were backed up to the Cloud. what a racket.

so I just went through my old phone and wrote down the numbers myself, took me all of ten minutes and I'll punch them back in the new phone. I am not paying anyone one nickel for that...

So I took my new phone home and am determined to understand how it works, and boy it's a whole new world out there...in complexity. I'm a very late adopter here. I did find the Do Not Disturb While Driving mode, boy will I turn that on first thing. And by squeezing the power button and volume button it brings up the HELP screen to call 911 I assume. Huge amount of functions, most of which I won't use.
And not all that much larger than my old phone, it squeezed nicely in my shirt pocket but clearly stuck out further. Bought a blue protective cover for it and got gouged 30 bucks for a no longer provided charger and oh by the way your old cable won't work either. Another 30 bucks. What a racket. Those are 10 dollar cables at most...
But now that I know what ends are on it I can find much less expensive ones on Amazon.

I also found out where the flashlight function is. Never ever found that on my old phone... let's see, slash down from right to left on 45 degree angle to
open up Settings. I can do this. I think.

And after thirty years or more with Verizon they still charge me 40 bucks to turn on a new phone.

I'm going out to see if any taters are poking up their heads. If so I'll put some potting soil on top.
Cold weather coming. Will see if these anti freeze covers work.

tdon said, "Good morning! This was not suppose to happen they, said 39˚F, it is now 33.3˚F and still falling, potatoes are uncovered."

Don, NWS today shows at 3:52 a.m. it was 35, then dropped to 32 in an hour, and then back up to 36 in another hour in Denton. Seems a bit odd. I went out back to the shop about 5 a.m. and with no breeze, it didn't really feel all that cold.

With the sunshine, it's already up to 64 going for 67. I went to Walmart this morning about 8:30 a.m. and sure did not need a jacket of any kind.

Drew you do know you can hook your phone up to Audi hands free end calls via steering wheel or use voice recognition to tell car who to call or use google maps to give directions

65°F and 1.37 inches rain.

Would like to finish mowing if not too soggy.

This afternoon is Dinner and cards (Hand & Foot). 1st time in a year. Other couple had their Moderna shots same day we did. 2 nd shot 3 weeks ago tomorrow.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

yes thank you. I choose not to use my phone in the car, too distracting though I know hands free is the least problematic approach. Now pairing up the phone and using google maps is an interesting idea though the car has built in nav. Audi wanted 699 bucks annually, I passed. I already have Sirius XM in the car and have lots of music recorded on memory sticks, so not sure I need the music functions. If I were still working I'd be hooked up for sure, but now I'm trying to avoid most calls actually since most are robocalls anyway.

surgeon for my shoulder just called, I had spoken with his asst. this morning. Looks like I'll be seeing him on the 27 and in the interim getting a root canal.
Just having lots of fun.

got the freeze cloth down on little garden. Those squash plants were looking distressed already, probably the ground is still too cold, even if it warms up during the day in those raised gardens.
I just tried to post a 8.55mg file and it rejected it as being too large. ??

So funny... Welcome to the world of new phones. I have a brand new Huwawei in my drawer, been there for 18 months now. I used it to take some photos once but the camera didn't perform like they promised so it stays in the drawer. I still like my old iphone SE and my wife has a iPhone 6 and until they no longer work we will keep using them. I hate setting up new phones.
