Good morning!!!!

28°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 45° today. May be in the mid 50s by Thursday.

We had snow flurries pretty much all weekend here. Very little of its stuck, just a little of the overnight stuff, but never more than a dusting that was gone as soon as the temps went up with the sunrise. Drove into Highland Sunday morning to pick up some stuff for The Wife, and there was a pretty heavy snow falling there.

Spent much of Saturday either puttering around inside the house or in the studio. Wife spent most of hers working on a quilt project she'd started years ago, then put aside in frustration. It's one of those 3D designs, and I can see why it drove her bonkers. She's determined to get it done now.

Got the upstairs bathroom sink drain cleaned Sunday. Tough living in such a hairy house (3 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 long-haired humans). Pulled out some big globs of hair and goo with one of those barbed plastic clog-pulling tools. Need to do that more frequently, apparently. Spent a little time at the garage workbench building a footrest for The Wife to use under her sewing machine, so she can sit a little higher at the machine. Found some suitable lumber hiding in the barn. Got to play with the miter saw, the table saw, and a couple of drills. The battery died on the DeWalt drill after the first two screws, and I still haven't replaced the other dead one, so I finished with my old B&D corded drill. Added rubber feet to keep it in place. Not as classy as some of the other projects here, but functional ... and most importantly, The Wife was pleased.

The heater in my LS cab is like that, too, Roy. It'll cook you right out of it, especially with heavy clothes. You're going to get spoiled and wonder how you ever made it without a heated cab.

Even as late as the '70s and '80s, we didn't get much in the way of "snow days" where I went to school. I remember being sent home early one day from grade school in the early '70s because a big ice storm was coming. Other than that, we had four days off in '82 after the predicted 4-6" turned out to be 28" by the next morning. These days, seems like they cancel school if it gets too cloudy.

LS, probably best to save the Irish coffees until gravel spreading is over if your neighbour has a camera Gravel Dump Truck Spreading Fail - YouTube

I was expecting something worse, like the truck tipping over. It’s hard to tailgate gravel in such a small area, much easier on a road where you start driving, pull the dump and keep going. Only time I’ve done that backing up was with a spreader box attached, when sealing roads.
When he reached the end he should have lowered the bed, backed to the start and try again.

Good morning, 29 going up to 41 and sunny.
No work today, so only working 3 hours :cool2:

Drew, pavers came out nice.

Think it's time to get a grinder to carve wood , any recommendations, would be my first grinder and plan on making something of the ash stumps?

Off to split some wood after next meeting ends.

Stay safe and be well.

And Popgadget, how many Battery speakers do you need at one time :) very happy with my BT Speakers

Was up late helping youngest with his MS access homework. Database design course, they assume you know the tool and he doesn’t. I haven’t used MS access since before he was born.

Kitty curled up in front of pellet stove and I’m in the recliner. I think it was 10 in the list, I run like the winded.

Mostly sunny, says 39°

I expect to do nothing today, so I have a chance of accomplishing that goal.

Good morning! 29 now, not sure it is gonna get any warmer. We had flurries most of the day yesterday, not much accumulation. But over night, we got enough to coat the trees.

About done with work type stuff for today. Tomorrow is another day for that stuff.

Going to get a real haircut this afternoon. First one in almost 3 months. Unless you count the one my wife did when I got home from the hospital.

Not sure what I will get into between now and time to get the haircut. So many things to choose from, so little time.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Good Morning!!!! 67F @ 8:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 73F. Winds N at 10 to 20 mph.
We're under a Wind Advisory through tomorrow, and saw some 25MPH gusts overnight. Wonder if it brought any dead trees down, saving me the trouble. Yesterday's high was 79F, but rain is still in the 10-day late in the week and the following Monday-Wednesday. More seasonal temperatures, too, and that's fine with me.

Managed to knock out another pallet of firewood splits, worked up a bit of a sweat and got some suntan, too.

Probably more of the same today.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start.

Roy - the list had me laughing.
Got a bunch of wood split came in for lunch.
Sun disappeared, it started snowing, the hail, then rain, back to snow and stopped, all in less than 10 minutes.
Now forecast say partly cloudy, high of 44 and it's 46 degrees, what are these people at wunderground drinking??

There was only one in that tool pile. Enough battery’s to run it for a long time, but only one BT radio.

Good morning, looking out to a sky with only a few thin ribbons of cloud. Had a good few hours without rain yesterday and hopefully the same today. Best to pretend I haven't seen the forecast for the rest of the week, that way I can take my time and enjoy being outside instead of rushing to get things done. Winter has always required a different mindset, no point getting downhearted at it being cold and wet, better to just be thankful for these occasional kind weather days.

Roy, funny list. While Ron and Alien are on number 12, I am tending more to number 3.

Oh my... I wish I could get 8 hours sleep. Just doesn't happen any more sadly.

Roy, I downloaded that list. I have a couple of places I can use that. Lol.

Well it started raining.

Tinkered with a recipe for crinkle cookies

Basic recipe: 1 (15.25 to 16.5 oz) box cake mix
6 Tbsp melted butter
2 large eggs
1/2 cup powdered sugar

1. Position rack in center of oven and pre-heat oven to 375 F. Stir together cake mix,
melted butter, and eggs in large bowl.
2. Shape dough into 1 inch balls, roll in powdered sugar and set 2 inches apart on
ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 1 pan at a time just until edges are firm and cracks appear slightly moist, 9 to 11
minutes. Cool on pans 3 minutes then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
Cookies can be stored in air tight contained up to 3 days or frozen up to 3 months.

Lemon Crinkles:
Use lemon cake mix and, if desired, add 1 tsp grated lemon zest to dough. Chocolate Crinkles:
Use chocolate cake mix.
Snickerdoodles:
Use vanilla cake mix and roll dough balls in mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp
cinnamon instead of powdered sugar before baking.

Per cookie: 54 cal: 2g fat (1g sat); 1g protein; 9g carb; 0g fiber; 5g sugars; 77mg sodium.

Tried rolling in coconut, ended up sprinkling on top

So far today accomplished just about everything I was aiming to do today.

Cookies sound good.
Wife made a new chili recipe, not nearly as good as the couple she normally makes, but gotta try new things.

Brother still in hospital, thought he may have intestinal blockage, but X-ray said it was ok.
