Good morning! Up early to see if there is any snow, not yet. 38˚F we are at our highest temp today. It will drop a few degrees and the snow should start at noon. I am beginning to have my doubts because the low temp is only suppose to be 36˚F, but they are not coming off their prediction of 1-3" of snow. ??? If it doesn't snow they are sure dropping to a new low to get viewers.

Kyle classic photo, What is the caption? "MY other bike is a Harley Hog."

1-3" could easily fall Don but .. melt when it hits the warm ground.

Good morning. It's 40° (feels like 33°) here and temps will continue to fall all day. We're still south of the snow line but could easily see some sleet later this afternoon. Right now it's only rain.

I think I'll fire up the shop heaters and play inside today. I need to do some more organization in the shop quarters .. they've become a "catch-all" the last few years. Everything I kept from my office, when I retired, went there .. plus all kinds of other things .. previously "saved for future needs" crap. That should keep me busy for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 7:45AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 57F. Winds light and variable.
Showers are forecast for Tuesday, but barely enough to knock the dust down. But I'll take it!

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, Rich. Good luck with the blower, too! S&W makes an "Easy" version of their compact M&P 9mm that is supposed to be low effort to rack the slide and to load the magazine. Nice to have friends in high places, too, eh?

Those photos make my back ache just lookin' at 'em, Mike. Oh, to be young again!

Lucky boy, Kyle.

Circlip groove cut and all the transmission parts are clean, but buddy that was "helping" needed help making tools to rebuild the final drive on one of his motorcycles. So I did a little welding for him, then some machining, and then it was time for dinner.

He said "Oh, I brought us some dinner." And how. He whips up this rack of lamb, and a Caesar salad dressing to die for. To reciprocate, I offered up a scotch/Bourbon tasting and a bottle of red. Both of us slept well last night. This morning we'll finish up the tools, then I'll get back on the transmission. He got a call from his GF yesterday letting him know her father had passed away. He'd been in a nursing home for a few years, and was not well, and last week one of the other residents got CoVid. He tested positive three days ago and now he's gone.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

Rich, good deal on the work from home at your leasure

Mother in law didn’t know how to use their gas fireplace, so I attempted to help. Remote needed new batteries, I found the local control under a door, got it to light, but burns very low. Documents say there’s a gas adjustment, but their picture is not what is on this unit. I got the remote to work, but don’t know about the low flame. It put out some low heat after awhile, but next time I went down there the flame was out.

Also figured out his stereo. Her sister wanted to know how it worked. Solution was change it to a broadcasting frequency.

One minor drama event so far, all is well so far today.

I streamed our worship service while being away. I could do all but change the song slides correctly, as my audio was a 15 sec delay. I couldn’t capture audio on my remote connection, cause that would shut off audio on the stream. No one complained , at least to me.

Winter in Texas. Very pretty.
I'm thinking of all those snowbirding folks in their motorhomes and campers hoping they
brought their awnings in.

Got gas for the car over in NJ and had a nice visit with my nephew on his new farm off outside of Lahaska. Very private, small country road, about 50 acres.
Dead ash trees everywhere, he is working his tractor and grapple on it but it looks like he has real job security there. He has planted a fruit orchard which I'm looking
forward to helping him prune. Big barn, Kioti something inside, pool, he has a lot to maintain and costs him 250 bucks a week to mow it. Which due to his very successful investment firm
he doesn't bat an eye at. We both got our CFP designations at the same time. I went into the lower paid analytical planning side and he went into the high end wealth management side.
Which is why he can afford the big farm and I'm in a rental... No complaints, no regrets. Glad he did well.

Nice sunny day out for once.
I think I'll put the snowblower out in the sun and then put a coat of polish on it.
I already sprayed silicone in the auger and chutes.
Get it all nice and shiny so it can sit there and do nothing.
I also have to finish cleaning out the car so I can get it detailed next week.
I'll really miss that french fry between the seat. Was getting kind of attached to it. ;)

Awhile back Dad got a very high $2500 estimate to cut the large dead ash tree in his yard that was in danger of falling on his car and taking out electric lines to the barns. The guy who hunts on him said, I know a guy who used to work for tree company. He cut it yesterday for $400. I figured he would cut from the ground, but he climbed it with spikes, took out 2 largest tops, came down lower and cut another section. Turns out the inside of the tree was still good. From the outside it looked real bad.
He also climbed maple by the house and took down a limb growing out over the house which was in his original quote.
Dad gave him $100 extra. Was well worth the money. Pics from my sisters video. First is a top coming down.

Next section coming down.

By the time my brother got there they were almost done. He cut up a pickup load for firewood. The other guy that hunts also helped with picking up limbs. Nice that the guys he let’s hunt helps him out. Wished I could have been there.
This is the bottom.
