After giving it much thought, I have decided my favorite wood to burn, is the kind that someone else has cut, split, dried, and stacked.

28 now high in the low 30’s and partly cloudy today. Wind still blowing at 18 to 20 mph with gusts around 30.

Rained yesterday morning and turned to snow around noon. We got about 3” of heavy wet slop. This will be a pain to clean up. No hurry to head outside still enjoying freshly brewed coffee.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Good Morning. Almost 35 here and headed to 45. It’s breezy though, gusts over 30 are expected, but no precipitation.

Finished up the geo install yesterday, went pretty smoothly. A friend stopped by to borrow my wire puller, we figured out that it was almost 40 years since we were last face to face, although we were actually mask to mask yesterday.

Wife has a few chores around the house for me this morning, then I can head over to the shop to see what mischief I can find there. Still lots of cleanup to be done, but I’ve been pretty good about postponing it so far.

Well morning all,
to those that got all the snow from the big "nor easter" good luck getting it cleaned up.
We had snow and rain with no accumulation and a dry week in the forecast, sounds good to me.

Stay healthy, have fun as much as possible.

41 outside this AM. Looks to be clearing ski. Upper 40's today. Drying out from the unexpected rain event from a day ago. Had "beach front" property again on the back forty. I think that's at least the fourth time this year the pastures have flooded out. That's definitely different.

No porch work this weekend. Fantasy island life and car/truck shopping gets in the way. Went looking for diesel fluids yesterday, stopped by dealer, saw a 2019 2500HD Allison/Duramax for 69k. Think I will hang on to my 2011 a little longer. Next up was a 1500. If we can moves some finances around, we may go with that. It will be the wife's truck. To go with her tractor. :)

Tomorrow, the septic guys are suppose to come out and start the process for diagnostics. Since the system is over 50 years old, and has no records at the county level, we are probably looking at a new system. Such is the deal when you buy an old house.

Man, we have some big ticket items on the plate. I am blessed that we can even do this stuff, especially so at this time.

I hope all have a good day of rest, be safe, stay healthy my friends.

Alien, I hope you friend recovers well with the retina issues. Been there. Done that.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy skies. High around 65F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Rain still showing in the 10-day, but not as much as was there yesterday. Power company still saying lots of folks'll be in the dark come Monday and Tuesday.

Only one CoVid case in the whole country, Doug? That's amazing! Did the authorities impose a travel ban, and if so, when did it take effect?

Usually that kind of firewood, Kyle, comes with a pretty high price tag. I can see a fresh piston not having much compression, especially if there's only one ring. BMW is somewhat notorious for supplying rings with big end gaps, so I don't think that would cause the problem you're seeing.

Good to hear things going smoothly with the pickups, RS. I have two or three versions of those endoscopes here, and they've saved punching big holes in the wall/ceiling several times already. Also helped me find mouse damaged wiring on the van, and confirmed a healthy gearbox on a motorcycle or two. Just be sure to put the password for their WiFi networks in a safe place so you don't lose it...

Oatmeal raisin, one of my faves. But I miss Mom's almond balls dusted in powdered sugar the most, especially the ones with a candied cherry in the middle.

Thanks to the contractor's guidance, the work on the new solar panels went smoothly and so far it looks like the array is making about 20% more power. Still selling back to the grid more than I use, which is nice considering we're closing in on the shortest day of the year.

I'll put a dent in that today when I fire up the welder and grinders to do surgery on the new oil pan for the van.

The neighbor's steam cleaner has a couple of issues, including a bad fuel pump. Could also have a bad flow sensor, which keeps the controller from pumping Diesel into the burner to heat the water, but he needs to fix the fuel pump first. I did get an arc going on the new-to-him TIG welder, but couldn't get him to try it. He's afraid of getting shocked, and wants to read up more on how to avoid that.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend...

Not a problem. There are usually guys who will deliver cut split firewood for cash. One of my neighbors cuts firewood. I think he mainly does it to keep busy. I doubt he makes anything like minimum wage not even the old minimum wage.

Good morning to all! Low of 22, going up to 52 today, sunny and calm.

The son got inspired ( I think at the persuasion of his wife) to put up Christmas lights. They went out yesterday afternoon and only came back with a few strands of lights... after going to 3 places... he said he wasn't standing in the Walmart line that stretched around the corner of the building. I mentioned that is why I had told him to "go early and be there waiting for them to open". He said they set the alarm already for this morning. Hopefully he got what he wanted to get...

I was able to get out in the shop yesterday and get the boards planed .... only to realize that I still needed to cut and glue up 2 more narrow planks.... I don't know how my count came up short....especially after doing it multiple times... I'll do them today, maybe by this afternoon I can plane them. There is another project on the list to be done for a Christmas gift.... a jewelry/ trinket box for my older Grandson (17), for his watches, bracelet, keys, etc... I first said "no, not enough time", but after wifey was going to buy one, I gave in.... especially after hearing the price!

Wifey is decorating some gingerbread man decorations.... both sons attempted to eat them when they came in smelling and seeing them spread out....with a loud "NO!, they aren't edible" being exclaimed by the wifey... they do look tasty, but truly are not edible... (I would have let them try and take a bite)

I still need to bring the inside decorations in... that will be first on the agenda.

Everyone have a great day!
