I feel exactly the same about Abbot's Green King, Watney Red Barrel, Newcastle Nut Brown Ale, and Whitbread Pale Ale, four all time favorite English beers that are no more. But I didn't start on them quite as young as you started on your cookies, Doug!

Funny thing is, there are/was three varieties and they still make the other 2 but just not a fan of them. (Super Wine and Vanilla Wine)
Fancy stopping making your favourite Ales RNG ... What a nerve!

About the vaccine. I've read that the first 3 vaccines take 2 doses per person. They think it will take 30 days from the first shot for your body to get to peak immunity. Hopefully however they decide to give the shots they won't expose people to infection. I heard on the radio today 35 percent of people in the U.S. are thinking about not getting the vaccine which will make herd immunity a close thing. Even after you get the shots it may be possible to get infected and also to spread it to other people. Nothing is simple.

Chris

Apparently not going to be compulsory to vaccinate in Aussie. I am of 2 minds at the moment... Only 1 known case here caught from a traveller in quaranteen. Now isolated. (NSW)
Life is normal in Queensland.

Phil, those cookies look wonderful, my favorites too.

Yes, my landlord left with a smile on her face.
She isn't used to a tenant like me...and she left me a nice amaryllis plant which I promptly planted and put on a sunny windowsill.

and if you are wondering what to do with your big Christmas bonus, well....:

Many have wished to put solar panels on top of an electric golf cart, but the amount of power from such a small solar array is miniscule compared to the amount needed to use the cart regularly. They could work fine for a trickle charger....maybe.

After giving it much thought, I have decided my favorite wood to burn, is the kind that someone else has cut, split, dried, and stacked.

So there is really not much sense in getting the shots if they don't work.

Well they haven't said exactly how the different vaccines work but if it keeps you from having bad symptoms or getting long covid that would be worth something. And of course if it keeps people out of the hospital I'm sure the health care people would be grateful.

Just getting in from the first cleaning. We have at least 6 inches of heavy wet slop! The ground is still not frozen so the snow blower is useless. Just digs into the ground. I used the bucket with it curled up some. Good enough for a first pass. Still coming down at a good clip. Hopefully will be better in the morning.

I can sure understand that. It seems that Oak is the most popular, but I had very good luck with Mesquite once I learned that it gets hotter and you have to not use so much at a time. In our first house with a fireplace, I burned mortar out from between the fire bricks and made a job for myself, re-caulking the fireplace.

Our favourite wood for burning is Ironbark as it burns very hot. However, we have no fireplace as it is not required where we live. We use a reverse cycle air-con if it gets down to about 60 deg F. That is chilly here.

33F and cloudy @ 18:30.

Was raining when I left for the Rodeo Roundup, turned into snow about halfway to first stop.

More tile, tools, and turlet acquired. Only thing I brought in though when I got back was the grout ... didn't want it freezing.

Great service at all three places ...

Managed to snag three chili dogs for dinner from Skyline Chili on the way to the second stop.

Woman pulled in just about the time I turned the key and shut the van off.

Just before I left I looked out the kitchen window and saw a couple of does ... were they at the new deer feeder ?

Noooo ... they were browsing the ground ... under the squirrel feeder ...

Ya gotta love it.

Son’s bathroom toilet been plugged for a few days, so I found the toilet roto rooter thingy, and got it unplugged. water valve wasn’t turned on all the way, so turned it on some more and it started leaking real bad. Had to turn off house water again, and when I turned it off (another gate valve) it also started leaking bad around the stem. Got the toilet shutoff changed to a ball valve type. I picked up several a few weeks ago after I had to change one under a sink.
Decided to change the toilet shutoff valve in powder room, as I need to pull that toilet soon to do some work. After changing that one, have a small drip behind the compression fitting to the 1/2” pipe. Also forgot to drain the cold line first, and when I pulled the old one off, all the cold water from higher pipes came out.

Started to change out the geo flow center, and decided since it takes 4 gallons of water, I should put some more antifreeze ( propylene glycol) in, so ran to TSC for a gallon. Then ran to Lowe’s to get more electrical connectors since the new one’s boxes are different. Decided to stop work for the night.
Fired up pellet stove for first time this season. Has that smell after sitting so long.

Drew, bet you have one very pleased landlady.

Speaking of which, I saw 50A outlets at Lowe’s. Drew, what is the pin configuration on your generator outlet?

@ buckeye farmer. Those ball valve taps are the best. Should last 30 or 40 years. Had the same problem with leaking taps that hadn't been used for years. As soon as you touch them they start leaking. I just replaced another 2 with ball valves to keep the wife happy. She uses them mostly. Just under $10 each for 3/4" ones. We have 1/2 a dozen around the yard for watering.

I’d like to have a robot that sprays weeds in the summer, and plows snow in the winter, and maybe grill burgers.

Good evening all. 39F for the start, clear, light breeze. Light wind day, clear morning, slow cloud build in afternoon, and high temp was 63F. no rain in forecast till Friday. Ponds and lakes are down in the area, unusual for this time of the year. Cleaned ashes, stocked the fire and went for a bike ride, delayed ride till 9 to let OAT warm up a bit. 2 hour nap, was tired after riding in the cold. Wife has been getting a few Christmas decoration out each day.

Kyle .032 is a lot of ring gap. Was that a single ring on a two ring piston? Some of the aftermarket pistons were single ring pistons, especially for racing.

Water is way down, but still a lot standing. Strong winds helped evaporate it. I’m glad it wasn’t snow, I can’t imagine 40” of snow from 10 hour event with the winds, it would have been a genuine blizzard.
