Good morning!!!!

I mowed this afternoon, when I was near finished I crossed a small swale on the front by the road at an angle and downhill. Well it high centered on me like a terrapin on a fence post. After thirty seconds of spinning the right front and left rear in a near panic, I remembered the differential lock. Pushed the pedal and backed right up the hill. I’ve had tractors with diff locks for 30-35 years, why I didn’t think of it right away is beyond me.

That happened to me once. I never had to use it before, and took me awhile to think of it.

Got my beer :)
Also got the PTO Driveshaft squared away on the flail mower (you might recall a post about a week ago describing how it wouldn't extend). Ended up rigging a short tow strap to the tractor end...came right off, I greased it up and go to go!
Got gas for the zero-turn and pretty much filled the tank...I'll mow first thing tomorrow (Sunday) morning...maybe the field too.
Only disappointment was a test on our 10kW generator. It started OK...let it run for a few minutes the plugged a drop light in...that was OK, so it's putting out juice. But then it started running rough. This was the first test since last fall...my guess is I forgot to add Stabil and I have bad gas. It holds about 7 gallons...and is full. I added some Stabil and I hope it runs OK tomorrow...otherwise, I'll have to drain the tank and put fresh fuel in it. This is an off-brand genny made in China and sold by a company called Pulsar

I've had the same issue with my generator due to lack of use etc. I use a little Seafoam additive and seems to clear up the
issue after running a little bit with a not critical load on it. Its a task to remember the Stabil when refiling cans.
Just sat down for a beer and a burger!

We have a big bulk diesel tank but don't want to store large amounts of gasoline .. so I get 2-3 five gallon containers filled about once a month. I started treating all my gasoline with Stabil 360 Marine several years ago. I add 1/2 oz to each 5 gallon container before going into town to fill them. It reduces the effects of ethanol contaminated gasoline and has totally eliminated all fuel related issues with our 2 cycle chain saws, pole saws, brush cutters, blowers, etc. I used to consume more gasoline but .. now our Kubota zero turn .. is diesel. I treat the gasoline, for our Corvette, with the Stabil 360 Marine also.

69F and clear @ 22:00.

Got west planting bed and blueberry bushes watered, MMM deck cleaned off and degreased ... and then re-greased (except for the u-joints on the pto shaft which I need to remember to do tomorrow) old blades taken off, sharpened ones installed, live trap hosed off (but not reset)

Got Menards order placed a little before 13:00 and got an email a little after 14:00 that the order was ready for pick up. Also ordered a Milwaukee jig saw and some blades from Acme Tools which should be here by next Friday.

About that time neighbor showed up, said he hadn't seen me for a while and was wondering if something had happened ... which was funny, 'cause I wondering the same about him ... Thought maybe he had headed back down to Texas to visit family again. So we sat around and shot the breeze and worked on solving the world's problems for about an hour or so.

After that I greased the FEL, checked and aired up the tires on the Kubota, and worked on sanding the auger rack some more until The Woman got home. Once she got here I headed off for Harbor Freight and TSC. HF was already closed by the time I got there, so I swung by Autozone on the way over to TSC and picked up a new front wheel bearing for her car. It's starting to growl pretty good ... need to research that, apparently involves some specialized tools to change ...

Got sunflower seeds at TSC, along with a catnip toy for "the kids", and grabbed 4 Carhardt pocket-tee's (which are currently on sale thru Sept 20th) ... plus got an extra, extra small red harness for The Squeak ... which should be loads of fun.

Noticed there were a couple of birds in the DRST as I was heading out to do the running around so I stopped on the way back in to check it out and it turned out it was a pair of pretty good-sized juvenile blue birds so I let them go.

Hope everyone had a great day ...

Good evening all. 76F for the start, clear, light breeze. Mostly clear sky, moderate wind with brisk gusts, and high temp was 96F feels like 100F. Bike ride this morning, 5 in group, 57 miles, nice tailwind back to home. Nap after lunch and that was it.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague 70 confirmed cases, 2 active cases, Grayson 1118 confirmed cases, 74 active cases
Kyle sounds like a nice get together.
RNG medium carbon steel won't fully harden, would require water or oil quench. If properly quenched (most likely water) to promote hardening, I would draw it to a brown color then then air cool
Dennis sorry about shoulder, should you have it looked at?
Drew glad you are getting to socialize some. Would be tough going through your ordeal with no one to talk to face to face mask :)
Randy 7 inches in less than a week is a whole lot of water!
Eric nice looking hay, hope all goes well baling it
Roy hope fuel run goes well
Billy hope your grass dries out
Rick thanks for the sharpener review
Ron your aunt is impressive. neat balloon pic
Don you have cooler mornings than we do. When hunting you chase to pull trigger or not. When fishing, the fish gets the choice
Oldpath Welcome :welcome:
Ted, that is dry! you sound excited to get back on wood projects
RNG Firetruck ready for action!
Jim sorry about your bad experience that sounds like a giant pain for nothing
Dennis you might check and see if seat switch bypass is working or seat switch gone bad
Randy how many times have you used the lock in the past few years?
Roy hope you get genny squared away ok
Luther welcome :welcome:
Rick +1 on marine stabil

Eric,
Sophie was one of those kids that grew up wearing glasses, then as an adult it was contacts & glasses. Then about 20 years ago Lasik and she was freed. Lasik gave her something called monoview. Far distance in one eye, close in other. Made it interesting taking drivers vision test but otherwise good and they would work together, she could read, do her eyebrows etc and still see good at distance, all without glasses.
Retaining the monovision was part of discussion with the original ophthalmologist and even though the lenses wasn’t stable her vision was same as before that cataract surgery.
No discussion with 2nd ophthalmologist other than him saying he’d anchor the 1st lense if possible and if not replace. He replaced. We assumed everything was already in her record so didn’t question. When Sophie got the card with lense info we noticed it was a different measurement. He stated it was based on some measurement. So once she achieves healing I suspect there will be a discussion. We suspect he may not have honored her desire to retain the monovision and just assumed she’d be OK with glasses. Last appointment he said possibly reading glasses. At this point she isn’t reading, can’t read stuff on the TV and I seriously doubt could pass drivers vision test as she can’t read signs either.

Hood looking hay
