Amazing
Good for you. Impressed at your direction and attitude on that project.

Oh, BTW, that last message was solar powered! The house has been on battery power for the last hour, and the battery is being charged by the solar panels. Things are going smoothly with the rest of the installation, and most of my concerns have been satisfactorily addressed. We'll do a walk through when they finish so I know what all the components are and most especially, what all the breakers do. The goal at the end of today is to be ready for the final inspection, and I think they'll get there!:cool2:

Glad it is coming together RNG

Mowed most of the remainder of the lawn...wife is sensitive to grass clippings (allergy, I guess), so I didn't mow the fenced in backyard, so we could keep the deck door open.
I'll get the back yard in a day or so...when the outside temperature is up, we keep all the doors closed. This house, considering we don't use AC, stays fairly cool.
As far as weed trimming, most likely I'll do that Saturday morning before the heat (upper 80's-low 90's) sets in...

RNG... WOOHOO! Solar powered! Congrats on the plan coming together!

Started raining while still on 1st cup of coffee. Never really hard, but .43 inches so far. Energy conservation day.
Good for the garden.

Good evening all. 71F for the start, some clouds, near calm wind. Wind became moderate in afternoon, some dark clouds showed up but no rain, high temp was 93F. Bike ride this morning, followed by putter then got fuel line and installed it, and redid the boat guide on the the trailer, 2X4 was toast. Cut holes in carpet to drain water better, flattened the mount for the guide, need to be more careful with putting boat on trailer. :ashamed:
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson confirmed cases 473, 106 active
Roy good to hear you are back to normal
Drew good update hope your meds are worked out soon. doesn't sound like eats are much better, and you have some chores to do.
Thomas good luck shopping
Ron always good to clean up after project, one of ny failings. Nice iris
Kyle not good weather for AC not to work
Mike, raccoons don't get discouraged, we had to trap and move them.
Rick sounds like you are mowing now. Good luck with that tree, I would be tempted to take it down with a lift and drop it chunk by chunk. :2cents:
Ted hope you get some rain soon, sounds like progress continues
Drew making progress, now maybe you can sleep better.
PJ sorry about the moles, good luck with a control plan.
Dennis several trails like the C&O canal trail on my list
Kyle good to hear a/c back in action :cool2:
Drew half the trick is finish the knot. Every now and then I get sloppy and don't and knot does not hold correctly or comes apart totally
RNG that is outstanding!!! :dance1::drink:
Roy wife is allergic to grass/pollen as well.
prayers for all
stay safe and healthy

Not. Even. Close.
At my age, I'm pretty sure I'll never again put on the kind of mileage mostly_ does..

Wait til you get going they'll be no stopping you. Last Sunday I took a group of nine on a 55k ride, mostly river trails, 8 on Ebikes. It's the middle of winter here. I'll be 83 early next month. Today 15 of us on roads, about 25k. Next Sunday 8 of us, about 35k around a couple of seaside suburbs and a soak in a hot mineral pool at the end of it.

Your only as old as you want to be.

Drew making progress, now maybe you can sleep better.

good morning all. Up early but for the first night in who knows how long, had a good night sleep. They brought all my meds last night, including melatonin which is a natural substance that aids in sleep, have no idea how it works, but woke up feeling great. Sipping on cup of coffee, wish I had a bagel with it, but most boxes of bagels through Amazon are 12 bucks a box which is ridiculous. If I use Amazon pantry I have to order 35 dollars worth, which is also way too much for me. So still hunting Dave's everything bagels or some cinnamon raisin ones to go with my coffee. Can't drive, have no way of getting to supermarket where bagels of course are three to five bucks a box.

Time to take my first shower here, shave, and get ready to be taken back to cancer clinic at hospital a mile away to get some form of treatment. Not even sure where I'm going but they do I'm sure. Hope to get an outside walk in when I get back, though weather might still be iffy. Just not going to walk on wet surfaces for awhile. So this morning my pills are supposed to show up at the same time as breakfast, and the same time as the van ride. Will be interesting to see if I get something to eat...all the more reason I need to keep a little extra food here.

was going to wear shorts again but decided on long pants. HVAC in hospital is very powerful and I often get cold in there. Will also wear a fleece jacket, can always take it off, and since they are going to access my port, I likely will have to. Wearing a nice ironed short sleeve shirt so my first day I won't look like a slob. Pretty sure standard attire in there is sweat pants... Charging up my Kindle and will take that with me.

Not much excitement on my end...
Hope you all have a nice day

Good morning all. Thunderstorms yesterday and heavy rain last night is not going to make it any easier in a wetland with an excavator today. The soil we are trying to move has been below the water level for at least the last 15 years. It comes out easy enough, but the low friction means trying to pile it high is like trying to stack thick soup. A channel has been cut into the worst bit (i.e. deepest and most stinky), but I had to call a stop half way to the railway boundary as the floatation mats were sinking ever deeper into the black ooze . Approaching lightning made for an early finish to the day. Within 5 minutes of the digger moving out a duck arrived with 7 ducklings to try out the open water. It would have made a great photo, but I had had left my phone back on dry land, not that a touch screen would have wanted to respond when I was coated in mud from head to toe. Start working in the other direction today.

Rick, be good to hear that you are still in one piece if you went at those trees yesterday. How much steel plate do you have on the roof of your tractor ? :)

Everyone has their own reason to ride. Mine is that I just enjoy doing it.
No better reason than that PJ !

Congrats on achieving sun powered posting status RNG

Poured first cup of coffee. 49ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84ー with partly cloudy skies. Got a couple of projects on to do list done yesterday. Did not get week killer down. May be on today's list after I fix garden lights that are not working. Must have done something to the wiring Sunday. Then stay in house where it is cool.
Should be seeing a fawn with this Doe soon. No luck with Hummingbird picture.

Drew, glad you are getting settled in. Will not be long and you will be driving again. You can go visit the Whole Goods Store. Hope procedures go good today. Special prayers on the way.

Kyle, glad AC is back running.

RNG, good news on power system.

Rick, hope tree removal went well.

Eric, you could have had wife take a picture when you came back to the house. :ashamed:

Mostly, it seemed I was always repairing my boat trailers.

Bird, be careful in the heat.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 71˚F heading to the 90's 50% humidity before sunrise. Doing a back to back brush clearing days. Yesterday was FireWise and today Park Cedarcide. Staying hydrated will be the game plan along with staying ahead of the 5 draggers behind me and my chainsaw as I go thrashing under the large Oaks. The head of the County Parks and Recreation Department will be out today to give kudos, it may be a good time to offer my services on their tractor needs.

We have red in the tomato patch. The first tomatoes will be ready to pic tomorrow with many more behind it in the next couple of weeks.

Ron your deer pic reminds me of the lady I saw on the sidewalk yesterday waving her hands at a small buck. The buck just put his head down and did bull movements. I think they are getting a little too tame in the neighborhood.

RNG waiting to hear all the news on the solar system and generator back-up that will have all your neighbors partying at your house during the fire season blackouts.

Drew great progress. If you look good you feel good, well at least better.

I have a vintage racing bike for sale. Like Ron I need an upright, big seat slow bike with lots of gears for the hills, maybe even one with a lithium battery.

Got call last evening from friend saying his brother was in misshape but okay,Dave just unloaded his boat put the pickup in drive so he thought and gave pickup gas because of steep boat launch, now his 2 year old GMC sets under water in Miller Pond.... going to send Dave little something. ;)

Plans for today...quick trip to town not sure what else afterwards....putter day. :confused3:

Enjoy the day all.

Approaching five inches of rain flooding beginning to start

60 and drizzle, with some rain off and on, going to 70.

RNG, expected to see your TBN status changed to "Solar Star Member"...congrats on your new independence. Glad you're not getting our weather...would be hard making any solar power here the last few days.

Rick, I had a chance to try out the water half of the Cha Ching...like RNG said, until I noticed the adjustment knob, I wasn't impressed, but a little turn and what a nice stream of water shooting out 20 feet. So, definitely a Cha so far...hoping the air gun will go Ching once it stops raining and I need to use it. Careful with those dead trees.

Eric, what attractive muck you have. Shame you can't bottle it and sell it to American tourists as Olde English Earth. Cool that the ducks moved in so quickly.

Ron, I spent the morning at the emergency vet yesterday...how nice it was to park next to a flower garden with lilies like your yellow ones.

Buppies, sorry you are getting too much rain.

Monday felt so much like autumn, I decided to clean the chimney and woodstove. Got sprinkled on, but glad to have it ready a few months early.

Turns out that my MIL had a blockage in a heart vein...so yesterday they cleaned it and placed a stent in...showed my wife the scan and said it looks great now...went in through her arm. Still at hospital. I'm gonna start working on her taxes today.

Jim, you are amazing. Sounds like a wonderful place to bike.
