Good Morning! 40F @ 6:30AM. Sunny. High 59F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Cosgrove sounds like he's predicting a rather wet spring here in Northern California, with bands of showers coming through every few days as has been the case lately. And that could continue through the month of May, well past the usual dry out date. I noticed yesterday that the purplish blue lupines are starting to come up in the meadow, just about the time I'm starting to think I should give everything a haircut so it doesn't get away from me like last year. There are a few spots up near the house that for sure will get some attention with the push mower today or tomorrow; just have to see how dry it gets. Only one little shower around noon yesterday, then pretty partly cloudy skies and a nice sunset. Should be another pretty day today.
Got most of the dust and dirt (and yet more mouse poop) cleaned out of the instrument housing, so it should be ready to go back together today if it's dry enough.
Found the usual clog in the back gutter, along with a surprising amount of mud. I guess all the bare ground from the bulldozer work last summer put a lot of dust in the air, and these winter rains are washing it off the roof and into the downspouts. Somewhere around here I have one of those shepherd's cane shaped hose attachments, and if I can find it I'll give the gutters a good wash.
The water softener is on the blink again, more than likely the head on the resin tank is mucked up with calcium deposits. I watched the tech take it apart last time, so today I'll have a shot at it myself. If that brings no joy it's back to the supplier, who threatened to replace it with a larger system as the one now seems unable to handle the very hard water here.
Seems like it's always sumthin', don't it Cajan?
Hope everyone has a nice, quiet Sunday...
