Good morning!!!!

76 years ago at daybreak, my 19 year old dad jumped off a shot up wooden LCM, into water over his head, wearing 70 lbs of gear. He had a tall buddy help him to shallow water, where all they had to worry about was withering **** fire, stepping over the body parts and hoping his next step wasn’t on a land mine.
Eleven months later the Nazis surrendered because the greatest fighting force in history had just totally kicked their butts across Europe. Farm boys like dad, rich people, movie stars, formed into the most feared Army/Navy and USMC and saved the world.
THEY WERE 19 YEAR OLD KIDS, think about that as you go about your day.

Makes the issues of today’s youth rather shallow.
The guy that checked me out at Lowe’s today only has one leg, ex military. Have seen him before, but I don’t ask. I just thank him.

"Thomas, neat story about peanuts reaction to the Mrs. Do the foxes interact with her?"

Only thing fox real cares about treats and tennis ball full of catnip.

8 years ago when I joined here the scene was eerily similar. Sitting in a big chair in hospital, in this case my being with my wife who took a long time to die from cancer, time we used to best advantage, went on cruises, etc. Last two years was 200 days in hospital and I was in the chair every day all day. I wouldn't go through that for myself, having surgeons chop me up, but my wife wanted as much time with her Mom as she could. So we went down that long road together and admittedly I came out of it worse for the wear.

So now I look back over my online "tractor buddies" and am grateful for the friendships I have made. As we get older, we all fall apart as do our parents. We get by strengthened by friendship and mutual respect.
Thank you all for years of friendship and making my life better.

Lowe’s was packed, no counting or restrictions on number of people. Picked up ceiling paint with primer. Never tried that before.
Went to get in a line, someone said excuse me, turned and there was a line of people down the aisle standing on their 6 ft markers. So said sorry, went to next checkout and there was no line, just person being checked out.

Then went to Costco for gas, then decided to go in. Had everything but TP. Guy said they had it yesterday. It was packed in Costco. I wore my N95. Got a few extra stuff.

Ordered my regular chicken cheesesteak from an Italian place. Picked it up they had 2 regular cheesesteaks under my name, and a regular cheesesteak under Julie. They would have made me a chicken, but I took Julies regular. It was very good, I think they grilled it with some old bay seasoning. Nice mix up. Also had some different type of macaroni salad from Costco that looked good, and was.

Sleepy, went to bed at 11, heard clock strike 2am. Couldn’t get to sleep again.

Wife’s sister decided to go to the beach, so she won’t have to deal with that.

My plumbing Neighbor’s 50 yo worker (his relative ) passed away last week. Was scheduled for surgery, that had been postponed due to Covid. They found out he was on blood thinner and postponed again for a week. He had a stroke and passed away a day later. 50..
you never know.

Done with the drywall project. Not happy with it, but not going to redo it. Looked good during sanding phase, but once paint was on it, it shows every little and big imperfections. It’s finished, it’s painted.
My son was talking to my wife and spilled the beans , so no surprise.
My wife is Jim Reeves fan
