Good morning!!!!

David, nice garden
Mostly, wife’s sister practically kidnapped her mom and took her to NC with no way home. Her mom finally had to firmly put her foot down and demand she take her home. I thought we were going to have to go to NC to get her.
Today FIL was transported to rehab facility in VA. Wife and her mom were there when he arrived and got to visit with him outside. They said he seems to understand when they speak to him, and had his eyes open a little.
When her sister found out he was being moved today she wanted to come up, her mom told her no. I’m surprised she hasn’t shown up already, I’m sure she will show up unannounced. That’s only part of the drama.

Only reported 5 hrs of OT work today but did 6.5. Couldn’t stop in middle of a test setup. Had my 40 in yesterday.

Got ceiling sanded again, and touched up with more mud. Tomorrow after sanding should be ready for primer. Possibly paint later tomorrow or on Sunday. Want to have all done before wife gets home Monday. Can’t find any primer, gonna have to go to Lowe’s tomorrow. Found some ceiling paint left over 5 yrs ago, shook when I shook it. Might just get a new can also. My whole house hasn’t been painted since I built 23 yrs ago. It all needs repainted, so that might be the scope creep. At minimum repaint all of BR ceiling, which means shuffling a lot of stuff around.

Haven’t got caught up on TBN yet.

Big protest in our town today.

Thanks for sharing this. My wife read a short piece on it yesterday and just shook her head.

I read it that the negative studies had no real science behind them. More confusion.

MD still at 800 per day positive, but overall % of those tested down to 8%.

Here are the pics from yesterdays paint work. The bench cast iron pieces took the black enamel well... should outlast me (at least another 40 years). The shed trim was good to go, so we started the siding color, pics of that later...

Also got the shed windows installed/ trimmed / painted.

LS, what did you use for the rust before painting the bench ends?
What paint?

I used a product called rust reformer by Rustoleum. Wire brushed them first, just used air to blow them off. The stuff is kinda neat, water based, not too bad of a smell. When you brush it on, it is pinky / tan, starts fizzing as it turns green, then turns black as it dries. Just have to wait 24 hours before painting. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Rust-Ole...5OpLDMCatQH8nM_VMIMrMTz3JtaQtJ_BoCgpsQAvD_BwE

I have had very good results using Rustoleum Professional spray paint. Covers very well, dries fast. Sprays evenly until empty.

Here are a couple of pics of the paint completed on the shed. There are a few touch up spots where some booboos happened, but for the most part done...

Good evening all. 71F for the start, mostly clear skies, calm wind. Light to moderate erratic wind today, sky stayed mostly clear, high temp 93F. Went fishing again, played with fly rod, rusty as Ted's bench. Did land 4 or 5 sunfish 1 eating size balance trot line size. Messed with live worms lost half my worms and no hook sets :(. Came home and went for ride, rehydrated for an hour then napped. Puttered on computer after that.
Covid update: Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson 372 confirmed, 58 active cases.
Billy, good luck with the poison ivy reduction. You rarely get to figure out how mice get where they get. In-laws have real mouse problem, raising car hood helps in engine compartment.
Eric good to hear more rain, Don't have real big issue with UPS except when the mistake the road in address, but then the post office does that also. :(
Buppies don't wash away or get mud in the pool.
Thomas enjoy your puttering and treating.
Ron do warblers eat other bird eggs? Nice pic. Rust will get you every time.
Mike good to hear grass is done.
RS nice to hear vice is back together and ready for action.
Rich glad you were able to score firewood, several big oaks have died in the neighborhood, have no room to store it.
Don glad you got the cool hours, good luck with chainsaw.
RNG gotta wonder about some drivers. Enjoy new MacBook. Sounds like a good way to end the day.
Ted sounds like the cooler weather can't come soon enough.
Jay hope you get some rain, and Brogen get over the bear.
Drew sounds like progress on the walking, would be nice if they told you what they are looking for for discharge criteria IE walk so far stand so long keep meds straight
PJ remember the Arch effect well, split would occur before St Charles county then reform after crossing Mississippi river. :confused2:
Ted nice progress.
Thomas good luck protecting your garden.
David glad to hear good town run, sorry about Dr reschedule.
Buckeye, good luck with family drama, Hope you get BR ceiling done before wife gets home
Ted looking sharp
prayers for all especially Drew recovery and release.
stay safe and healthy.

69F and partly cloudy now, high reached 82F. Had a lightning alert earlier, around 18:00 - 1.28 miles away - then thunderstorm. Supposed to be a little cooler tomorrow (70's)

Did not get hummer juice changed out ... kinda surprised that it still seems clear. Definitely will change it out tomorrow.

Did manage to make it to the gas store ...

Threadlocker should be fully cured by now so tomorrow I'll chuck the cylinder rod up and remove the nut and get to replacing the seals.

Supposed to have relatively clear weather for the next four days, so hopefully will be able to make a dent in the jungle ...

Drew, glad to hear you're improving. Keep it up.

Prayers, and for this nation.

2 wrongs don't ever make a right.

Got the new battery installed on the deere rider. It was still dying after running for a while, so I put the new fuel pump and fuel filter on. I cut for about 30 minutes after dark with the headlights and it ran good. Need more testing to assure it is good.

Hope all of you are able to avoid the mobs if that's your preference.

Need to weed eat and work in the garden tomorrow hopefully.

Poured first cup of coffee. 56° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 79° with sunny skies. Did not get anything done. Little under the weather. Did trim my hair so it is not in my eyes. GS is going to come over and help with couple of projects. Need to set up dates. Mow lawn today. No other plans.
Long neck Hummingbird checking me out. Still seeing only one at a time at feeders.

Thanks all for the House Wren ID. Sparrows are being barred from using birdhouses.

Drew, best wishes for full recovery sooner than later.

Roy, good song.

RS, hope the vise works after repair. I have a similar Craftsman vise. So far OK. About 30 years old.

LS, windows made a big difference in how shed looks. Like the pint color. I also use rust reformer on metal.

Ken, seeing a lot of deer in field next to my place. None seem to think my place is their home.

Thomas, our Gov is opening thing up also. Should be able to get a haircut after the 15th. Squirrel melon picker.

Randy, wagon wheel garden is great looking.

David, hope Sophie gets her Dr appointment rescheduled in a short time.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Morning....70 outside this AM in a heavy fog. Heading to 90's today. Probably a pool day. But that front porch needs to come down. Unfortunate from the inside I cannot see how the thing is supported against the house. And with the walls built on top of what was the deck, I need to take the floor boards out to figure out how the deck is supported underneath. Looks like some 4x4's are in my future.

Had some disturbing news yesterday. daughter in the land down under is under covid isolation. Her entire compound has been instructed to not go anywhere until testing and results come into play. Seems there was a confirmed case in the "village" and the health authorities are trying to track and contain. Hopefully she can manage through this as family support is 14 hours difference by phone/video only.

Speaking of deer, I spied one munching on a tree on its hind legs. Guess the leaves are sweeter the higher you go. After that it made it over to my koi-less pond and wanted to munch on the hostas. It had not yet spotted me, so I yelled out a few times every attempted munch. LOL. It finally decided the vocal hosta was a bit to much to deal with and sprinted off into the back pastures. I don't think it ever saw me and I was only about 40 feet away. Too funny.

Hope all have a good day today. Be safe. Hope all are on the mends.
