Bingo Randy! We're .. back. American Pride!

I have my thoughts .. about of the cancellation of NASA's Shuttle Program but .. won't take that further here.

The other crap is .. very sad.

Ditto.

I had to listen to the launch on the radio, on the way to my appointment to get my truck's annual state inspection, but was excited listening.

Waiting for first cup of coffee to cool. 40ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 65ー with lots of sun. Put some the trim up on porch. Took way too long to get MMM on tractor. My old body could not pull the spring inplace for the belt idler. Used a chain link to make it work until JD is fixed. Then I will make a threaded adjustable bracket to get it to correct tension. Going to visit my other Aunt in Port Huron today.
Good to see SpaceX took. Some great videos out there. Sad what is going on in our cities around the country.
Tree Frog. Picture taken with iPhone X Max.

Drew, prayers and best wishes. I think we are going to miss the Massey, Some great pictures you posted using it.

RS, that Bridgeport looks a like mine with the newer head. I have a Flynn boring bar tool for mine. Works very well boring holes.

Buckeye, great picture. I got a good one last night also. But the frog won out.

Riptides, glad all was OK with other than tree.

Don, you will like how fast data is transferred with the newer USB part.

RNG, I have 4 sets of jack stands. 1 ton, 3 ton, 6 ton and 12 ton. None of them from HF. Did double check them that they operate properly. They all but the 1 ton set came from China.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 67˚F heading to the upper 80s.

Today is the last day the gardens are having timed work sessions, this schedule never had any two gardens next to each other working at the same time. Tomorrow we start just alternating days. But today my 3 hour time slot starts at 12:30 pm and thundershowers are predicted at 12:45pm. If the rains hold off today will be potato harvest day on the first planting before covid. The tractor jobs are lining up also and I need about a 2 hour rain free window for tractor time.

Today is also the first day our church opens up and has regular services (every other pew and face mask) and also streaming. They are encouraging everyone over 65 to use the streaming at home, and that's fine with me because I do not like to wear face mask - rebreathing air and fogging glasses. I wear it for quick shopping in public, 15 minutes or less, but can't wait to get outside and take it off. Everybody's face mask fits so loosely I don't think they are very effective. I have seen face mask on beards and with noses sticking out . . . . maybe good to stop projectile sneezing of large particles but the atomized particles are escaping.

Ron that frog went full screen when I posted and jumped out at me - I backed up quickly.

60, gloriously low humidity and breeze from the mountains coming down. Should keep down in the mid 70s.

Eric, very interesting about Campbell's device. I hope he didn't start any house fires before he perfected it. It seems like folks were so inventive before TV and the internet.

BEF, another great photo.

Don, glad you got a good hike on that trail. Lots of hard work paid off.

Roy, I've turned to making up new profanity words in those situations...it just seems the old words don't work for me anymore. :)

RNG, speaking of those recalled jack stands, stopped at HF on the way to the Toyota dealership to "turn them in" for my "reward"...did you get a $42 gift card? I don't think I paid that much.

It was my first time in a store since the coves started so was curious about how it would go. I went immediately to my place in line at the designated tape on the floor. An even older (than me) couple were in line in front of me and when they went to the register, the man couldn't hear the cashier because of the tall plexiglass panel...he was wearing a surgical type mask that didn't cover his ears, but must have been confused because he pulled it down and tried to hear better. Another two people only had their masks covering their mouths, with their noses sticking out. Maybe they are mouth breathers. Not sure all this mask stuff is working that well.

Things went better at the Toyota dealership getting my truck inspected. When I got out wearing my cowboy bandana and sunglasses and hat, the service lady asked me if I was planning on robbing them. They put a mask (plastic bag) over the steering wheel and a paper floor mat in place (?)...everyone wearing masks in the waiting room, and spaced apart...I didn't sit down since I like to walk the back lot and look at all the new vehicles...drooling over the $89K Land Cruisers and the shiny red Supra.

Their inventory was about half what it was last time I was there, and I noticed several of the Camrys had December and January inspection stickers, meaning they had been on the lot that long. They had taken all the vehicles out of their showroom...I guess to keep people from congregating. Understandable slow business, but looked like they had a couple buyers there.

State inspections are now $20 in Virginia, but they continue to do it free with a smile. Makes for a loyal customer. I'm a few miles short of 50K on my Tundra, so thought maybe the brakes would not pass, but all was good. I guess it deserves a wash today.

Ever watch R. Lee Ermey in "Full Metal Jacket"? I don't normally have to make up new curse words, but I'm pretty good at making up new metaphors with the old ones...

Sheesh. Those prices are higher than female giraffe anatomy....

Initially, yes, that may seem like a high price.

But I offer you a counter example. I'm writing this on a MacBook Pro 17", made in early 2011, and purchased by me, used, two years later, for $1500. Two years ago, the Graphical Processor Unit crapped the bed, and I paid another $500 to get it fixed, knowing it would probably die again in not much more time. The cost should have been covered by Apple, but since I wasn't the original owner, I was never notified about the extended warranty/recall, and didn't find out about it until it was over. Regardless, here we are, a little over nine years after it was made, and I'm out $2000 to use that laptop every morning for at least an hour over that time. That's about $285/year, less than a dollar a day. Last week I paid $2200 to buy the latest version, that has a screen not quite as large, has the same memory size, twice the SSD capacity, much faster WiFi, and roughly six times the CPU speed. I expect it to last at least as long, and use it just as much. How many Windows or Android based devices can offer the same user experience and track record?:confused3:

Yep...some of them. It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I've seen the M16-AK47 video.
I've got a couple AR-15's and a couple AK pattern rifles. I like both platforms...don't shoot either much anymore. There's an AR-15 close at hand in the house...full mag nearby

63 outside this AM. Heading to lower 70s. That tree limb took three full RTV loads to the burn pile. And a load to the fire wood shed. It twisted off. Not a clean break. Wife will call in some pros for estimates tomorrow. Have 7 around the house that need work. Three IMHO need to come down. I spent the better part of the day on that one limb. Too much work for a branch.

Grass on agenda for today. Along with deep relaxation techniques.

Prayers for all. Have a good day.

$42 sounds about right. I bought some other stuff, and the refund didn't quite cover it. :confused3:

Same spotty experience with the masks. Darwin is alive and well...

Same here, Buppies. I'm still using an original SE purchased in 2016. Does everything I need, but for some reason, I'm having more and more trouble reading that tiny screen...:laughing:

Good morning. It was 71° earlier and our high should be only 80° this afternoon and possibly some more rain. We had a shower at midnight that was welcome.

I got the 9 acres, around the house, mowed yesterday and some small parts for the rolling ladder painted. The paint drys slowly with our high humidity.

Today is tractor / zero turn maintenance day. I'm sure the ZT air filter will need cleaning. I've yet to figure out how to blow these thing out, without getting most of the dust on me?

The NASA / SpaceX launch was spectacular yesterday and should be front page news with EVERYONE celebrating this accomplishment but .. sadly, it's overshadowed by a bunch of anarchists trying to destroy our country.

Hope everyone has a restful Sunday.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 6:00AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High 83F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain since midnight, and we only picked up a tenth of an inch yesterday morning. There were some puddles and pools where the tarps sagged between boards, but the weight only served to hold the tarps in place and I don't think there were any leaks. I'll know later today or tomorrow when I take it all apart, but for now, it looks like I dodged that bullet.

Always nice to hear from someone new, Molalla1. Where abouts in Oregon are you?

Shopping for a mill, RS? Make sure it comes with LOTS of tooling, otherwise you'll go broke trying to set it up before you even get to use it.

Too busy to watch the launch, but it's good to see the space program is alive and well and in private hands. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

Now that's a Big Rig, Bill! Hope you have a smooth season this year.

Clever Scotsman, Eric. Don't forget yer sunblock!

Giant pic of a tiny tree frog, Ron. How can something that small make so much noise?:confused3:

Fingers crossed all goes well with the reopening of Texas, Don.

Got some housework done while it was raining yesterday morning, but by noon things were drying out. Moved some more junk out into the shipping container, then grabbed a bucket and big soup can and bailed out the water filled sags in the tarps. Probably got close to ten gallons in the bucket, and it was fun stretching the tarps under the smaller pools and watching the water run downhill into the bigger pools. I may be grown up, but I still like to play like a little kid sometimes.

Last week an ammo box the Army used to use for "40mm projectiles, inert" was delivered, and yesterday I set about converting it into a tool box for the new tractor. It's the kind with latches at both ends of the lid, but by trimming a tab on one end, that latch can be left latched and act as a hinge. Then made a bracket and drilled the box to fit, but most important, got it all painted Kubota orange with a rattle can from TSC. Kubota put a set of threaded mounting holes on the FEL mounts, and like similar holes elsewhere on that tractor, these were full of rust and dirt and had to be tapped to clean them up. If the paint is dry today, I'll mount it and move the junk over from the old tractor.

Long talk with an old college buddy last night while I was fixin' up a batch of spaghetti. Man, that guy can talk!

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Morning everyone!
