60, gloriously low humidity and breeze from the mountains coming down. Should keep down in the mid 70s.
Eric, very interesting about Campbell's device. I hope he didn't start any house fires before he perfected it. It seems like folks were so inventive before TV and the internet.
BEF, another great photo.
Don, glad you got a good hike on that trail. Lots of hard work paid off.
Roy, I've turned to making up new profanity words in those situations...it just seems the old words don't work for me anymore.
RNG, speaking of those recalled jack stands, stopped at HF on the way to the Toyota dealership to "turn them in" for my "reward"...did you get a $42 gift card? I don't think I paid that much.
It was my first time in a store since the coves started so was curious about how it would go. I went immediately to my place in line at the designated tape on the floor. An even older (than me) couple were in line in front of me and when they went to the register, the man couldn't hear the cashier because of the tall plexiglass panel...he was wearing a surgical type mask that didn't cover his ears, but must have been confused because he pulled it down and tried to hear better. Another two people only had their masks covering their mouths, with their noses sticking out. Maybe they are mouth breathers. Not sure all this mask stuff is working that well.
Things went better at the Toyota dealership getting my truck inspected. When I got out wearing my cowboy bandana and sunglasses and hat, the service lady asked me if I was planning on robbing them. They put a mask (plastic bag) over the steering wheel and a paper floor mat in place (?)...everyone wearing masks in the waiting room, and spaced apart...I didn't sit down since I like to walk the back lot and look at all the new vehicles...drooling over the $89K Land Cruisers and the shiny red Supra.
Their inventory was about half what it was last time I was there, and I noticed several of the Camrys had December and January inspection stickers, meaning they had been on the lot that long. They had taken all the vehicles out of their showroom...I guess to keep people from congregating. Understandable slow business, but looked like they had a couple buyers there.
State inspections are now $20 in Virginia, but they continue to do it free with a smile. Makes for a loyal customer. I'm a few miles short of 50K on my Tundra, so thought maybe the brakes would not pass, but all was good. I guess it deserves a wash today.
