Fan install was a fail. Good thing I do not need fan yet. Remote will not operate lights or fan. Fan is in place with only light working. Ordered new remote from Amazon.
Forgot to mail taxes.

Morning everyone. It was looking pretty gloomy this morning but I wanted to take advantage of the fourth dry day in a row to get the lawn mowed. The sun came out and I’m not certain of the temp but it’s pretty nice atm.

Half done so I came in for coffee.

30 days straight with rain in the PNW and I’m really thinking about a winter place in Hawaii. Sodamo, will have his carport done but I could “help” with other things.

I would only have to buy a one way ticket as I’m certain David would INSIST on purchasing my return fare.

No guarantee . You could help build my caretaker unit, occupy, then we could clean out tractorshed to make room for tools more to your liking, then build an additional structure, and then...

A frizzly, froggy 31ºF morning low; a drizzly, foggy, rain showery, murky day with the temperature stuck at 34ºF so far today. Despite the ashes on the driveway the Tundra decided to take a slide down the driveway after parking and exiting as I walked alongside. Brogen knew something was not right with the scenario  All kinds of special NWS weather advisories here today. Freezing fog and drizzle, and fog (all day).

RonJH - Thanks for the Irv update and that he and his Wife have a common pursued interest. I am sorry to read about your fan installation.

Thomas- My FOPS caught a few clods of ice/snow falling from the trees.

Rick- I am sorry to read about your coffee challenges this AM. A morning without coffee is not a good day; I’d probably start chewing on one of those pods. One year when we lost our power I resorted to using an automotive plug-in 12V/110V inverters to run my ancient coffee grinder.

Phil- I am happy that you got some seat time. I was really surprised about the amount of snow and the fact there was no changeover. That snow really compacted as the temperature climbed >32ºF.

Drew- I am happy that the pain pills worked and good luck with the MRI read.

Eric- Thanks for sharing your snow scene.

Ted- I too enjoy walking in the woods during/following a snowstorm. I love the quiet… the stillness. Crampons are noisy. Crunch… crunch… crunch…. Brogen was slipping around this morning on the steep areas of my “path.” I have 3 different .4 mile paths here which with a figure 8 and some extra trees marked = a roundtrip walk of .5 miles of slope. I think it is ~ 14% grade. Very little of this property is level.

Great pictures.

I hope that everyone on the mend keeps mending and the healthy stay that way.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

We had a record number of state troopers (27) hit last year in Illinois by drivers not slowing down or moving over. People just don't seem to pay adequate attention to driving anymore.

Many of the drivers are completely worthless but it's not just the drivers on the road, I can't count the number of idiots that just walk out between cars in front of people, or that just pop thier doors open right in front of a driver.
Or like just happened around here this last weekend 4 kids just walked right out into the street in front of car that had a green light, 1 dead 3 hospitalized.
So many times people are just stepping out right in the way.

So much for making 787 more safe. Apparently the problem wasn't the road itself.

Wildlife pic for you.
The cat is/was a Himilayan/Burmese cross.
The deer, well it is a deer.
The conversation went kinda like this; Deer: You are awfully short for a deer and pretty hairy too.
Cat: You are a pretty tall cat and a pointy nose, too.
This was taken about ten years ago or so.

That’s a better deer pic than the one I saw coming home. It ran on to the road and hit the car ahead of me, then came flying back at me. Luckily no one in opposing lane and I swerved and missed it. Car never stopped. It’s right door got a good dent.

Good evening all. 40F for the start, rain, light wind. Wind 15-20+ .5 inch in the rain gauge, and high temp was 42F. Not an intense schedule putter in morning with fire and help in kitchen, bike ride late morning, got full 20 miles in before rain. Fire had an ash problem, need to work a way to screen ash build up. Tried a kitchen sieve, it was too fine, but did help get rid of some ash mixed in with the coals and fire was better after. Had to drill out really small screw om heart rate sensor, found a small center drill and popped head off. got threads out but may be last year for this sensor, it is getting flaky.
Phil hat to say it but glad it was you and not me :ashamed:
Drew, glad pills worked hope they can work op a plan to reduce pain w/o pills.
Congrats on your snow, Eric
Buppies sounds like a lot going on. Anything Dr.s can do to speed your healing

31 right now...high in the mid-30's today. Looking at 2-6 inches of snow over the next couple days.
Good news is the hydraulic chute rotator on my 3PH snow blower did thaw and does work! So, the hydraulic motor is still good.

Oh yeah...Wife and Stepdaughter made it home safe and sound...about 2300 or so

Good morning. Roy, good to hear your snow blower is working. I don't have a blower, fortunately what we had was really polite snow, it never attempted to overstay it's welcome and was gone by nightfall. :)

I think those geese that were flying north were greylags. They have become a severe agricultural pest in parts of Scotland, particularly the Orkney Islands. Normally you are only allowed to eat the ones you shoot yourself, but it has got so bad up there that this winter they are being permitted to sell them commercially to reduce the numbers and compensate for the crop damage.

JB, self sliding cars

RNG, an inclinometer on a long straightedge is almost cheating, Now you have a fancy laser lever, I thought you would take every opportunity to use it and mark every post, with a tape measure to adjust the vertical on the upside. If you would like a refresh on the trigonometry from school days, this pic seems to be one of the most popular to help remember that opposite, adjacent and hypotenuse mnemonic Hollywood Fringe - sohcahtoa :confused2: :ashamed: :D
