32° and cloudy this morning, going up to 44° today. Had a bit of light snow overnight, just enough to cover everything. iThingie says we're getting more snow tomorrow, but a voice on the radio this morning suggested it may be more of a wintry mix changin over to plain rain (there's that phrase again).

Not much excitement at the Smith house lately. Wifey has been getting home late, working with clients on the other side of the STL area. I've been farting around in my studio in the evenings, still editing programs on the new digital modeler. Last night I found a better way to run different signal paths to different outputs (1/4" TRS and XLR), which will be helpful both when recording and when playing live.

Nothing to share yet, mostly_. Just trying to tweak the sounds to get what I want. Getting very close, though. I did some recording over the weekend, which told me it was not quite there just yet.

Nice progress, David. I, too, was wondering about the water drainage.

Rick, I'm impressed with your dedication to coffee. I think I would have broken open some of those pods to get the ground coffee for the Cuisinart. Next time you're at the grocery store, pick up a bag of beans as your backup. Or I could mail you some (but no pecan flavors) as soon as BEF outs your location .

David, that looks like a perfect fit. What's your drainage plan for the side facing the house? You get so much rain.

Wasn't supposed to start raining until 4pm yesterday, but felt a few drops while outside at 10am, so accelerated my timing on finishing up splitting firewood, and bring in a load to the porch. Started raining pretty steady as I finished up. So made lunch and watched Perry Mason.

I watch Perry a couple of times a week, quality show with all kinds of famous stars.

Good morning to all! Low of 20, high today will only be 29. That means the 11 1/2 inches of snow we got overnight will not be melting today. Another 3-4 inches possible throughout the day.

I went out and shoveled the back deck and some paths around the fenced in area of the backyard for the pooches. I am now taking a break for a little bit, the knee is not happy, it is in cohorts with the back which is really acting up too....

It is still snowing, so I will wait to go go the front porch / steps. I will get out the tractor after doing that and another break. I think that will be the extent of my agenda for today....

Eric, have fun in your snow.... did you round up all the sheep before the snow or do they stay out in the fields? .... Pretty picture.

Bird, I could not believe that we got our state return deposit within 4 days of filing. .... they must not have too many returns to process yet.... it has never been that fast! The Feds accepted the return, but still no word on the return....

Ron, keep the pictures coming... we really enjoy them.

David, great job on getting the carport structure together, had to be challenging to do the vertical supports at 3 different levels. Turned out great.

RNG, glad you got the mixer going, at least not another delay to find another. Now you get to play with a giant erector set too...

Jay, beautiful pics of the snow and your property. When we lived back East, one of my favorite things to do was walk / hike through the woods after it snowed.... so quiet and peaceful.

Thomas, how much snow did you end up getting? Sounds like the critters do not mind it....

Bird, how many days from the time you filed are you receiving notification of deposit?

Don, I actually filled online with TurboTax on 1/23/2020 and got an email message from then that it had been accepted by the IRS on 1/27/2020, and yesterday both the IRS and my credit union showed the refund will be deposited tomorrow, 2/12/2020.

31F this morning, light breeze blowing making it feel colder... daughter went out to go to work (Tuesday is garbage day and she takes garbage can to main road on her way to work).. she opened the back hatch and the driver's side strut came off and broke her tail light assembly.. I helped her get the strut back on so the liftgate would close, I think she was going to tape the lense half back on so she could go by the repair shop that worked on her car last summer on her way to work... not a happy camper but calmed down after reading that the body shop had a lifetime warranty on their work (they had her car over 3 months last summer repairing it after she was hit in the back).

Dentist visit yesterday was not as bad as I imagined, had a deep cleaning done on right side, temp crown installed on one tooth, one wisdom tooth extracted.. go back in 2 weeks to get deep cleaning done on left side, permanent crown installed, and a couple cavities taken care of. I have one other tooth that needs a crown, need to decide if I want to do it now (would have to pay most myself because I am almost at limit of benefits for the year)...
