Good eye wngsprd. Wife on her Scag. That was before she got it caught in chain link fence on slope in front of house and I had to extract with tractor. Had to position pallet forks over fence, hook with chain, lift and move forward enough for scag to drive away. No pics of that.

RNG, have to confess never anchored any on my generators to the concrete. Never had any wiggle around though, just remained in place. I always use a flexible conduit for the connections to.

Thanks for the galvanized welding tips, guys. Been a few years since I did any. I have some spray on galvanizing stuff and a can of brush on (if still good)

Drew, you sure have a green thumb. Next stage for me, they’d die.

Looking forward to pics of your trails in use.

Rick, those are type of anchors that came with my carport. Have used in past, work very well. I also have a few places where things changed over the years and they remain but ground down to level of the concrete

Ted, in awe over your table. Gonna be really nice. I really like natural finished wood.

Agree with Paul’s wife as to the touching. It was one of the exercises in the canine good citizen class as well. I try to incorporate the touching into play/petting just so they don’t forget. For our boxers it’s more the feet because they likely get less attention.

Sorry to read about the extra effects.

Paul and David, thanks for the training tips. That is the odd thing about it, I can normally touch him anywhere, especially his snout. He has that schnauzer “ beard “ and I am constantly taking grass / twigs / mulch, out of his beard when he comes in from outside. He rolls onto his back / side and I can scratch him. This was just really odd behavior for him.

He was totally food driven when a small puppy, always having to fight with his siblings for food (he was the “ runt “, about 2 weeks in development behind his siblings). We can take food away from him, hold his bowl, and he gently takes treats. When he knows it is feeding time, he gets way overly excited, bouncing and jumping. Part of his “ training “ is to make him sit and wait until he is given a command to eat. He does this every feeding time.

He was sitting, “ waiting “, when I attempted to wipe his beard. This may have been the root of the problem. I totally disrupted his routine, but his actions will not be tolerated. From the time he was 15 weeks old, he learned to sit and stay, even the vet was amazed. He will be going to “ school “, but I do not want him to form bad habits beforehand.

Speaking of dogs.... someone sent this to me in an email. You probably would have to have spent some time in Albuquerque to really understand it, but it is still funny.

It was a 22ºF clear, red sky sunrise morning. It's been clear and sunny all day, but the temperature never got >32ºF. Brogen got his nails trimmed at the vets early this AM. The vets office's black cat did her best to agitate Brogen (again ;() He weighed in a 167#; but insufficient body mass to squirm his way out of a 3 on 1 nail trimming scenario.;) Our first St. B rescue was a physically abused female who was hand shy. It took a while but using + reinforcements, like those mentioned, she finally overcame the - hand reaction . I can not say the same about hands holding combs, brushes, trimmers, etc. She壇 snap, but never make contact. WIth nothing really planned other than today's domestic duties and noticing my existing kindling supply I decided to break some firewood 1/4's down to kindling with my electric wood splitter. I probably am good for the rest of the year.

I burned myself out reading weather maps and weather discussion yesterday regarding this weekend's potential weather system(s). It's not even worth a brief rant and rave. :(

Don- Thanks for sharing the WInter sunset moment.

Kyle- Hopefully you will not have to switch health care providers and/or health insurance coverage for a while.

Desertdog- Welcome to GM.

Ted- Thanks for sharing your woodworking skills. I am sorry to read about yours and Max's failure to communicate. Losing the jewels may help curb the dominance drive. First thing we did after rescuing Brogen was neutering him. It calmed him down excitement-wise with visitors. It did nothing to minimize the animal aggressiveness. Brogen will be our last St. B. rescue; I am getting too old and decrepit to wrestle St. Bernards (BTDT).

RonJH- I hope your bloodwork reveals no surprises, and good luck with the endocrinologist.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day today.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Will wonders never cease? We have had an Eat Smart Precision Plus Digital Bathroom Scale for several years. I don't remember exactly how long and can't find the old paperwork. But it's been an incredibly accurate tool for quite a few years. But yesterday morning, it died. It uses 2 AAA batteries and I found it had a battery that burst, corroded, etc. So I went online and ordered a new one from Walmart Online. It was just a little cheaper on Amazon, but I decided to go with Walmart. Total cost, with sales tax $30.84. They offered 2 day service for about $20, so I passed on that and the "expected" delivery date of 2/10/2020 was quoted. IT ARRIVED VIA FEDEX BEFORE NOON TODAY! Less than 24 hours after I ordered it.:cool2:

34F this morning, some fog..

Went to the dentist this morning (been 20+ years, yes I know I am a bad boy)... A couple teeth need crowns, one wisdom tooth needs extracting, a couple small cavities, and a deep cleaning.. not as bad as I thought it would be.. thought of retiring prompted it..

Pushed the meeting I have with other interested manager to the end of February.. either I can tell him I am retiring or tell him I want to move to his group as soon as HR will allow it. No reason to discuss with him before I find out if I am accepted on retirement.

Folks are busy.. I'm looking forward to being busy for things other than work..

Stay safe, prayers for all

My other tasks taking a bit longer, so not anticipating much on the carport.
Maybe a good thing. Weighing against the galvanized/zinc welding may just borrow from Versatube and bolt on some beefy gussets and brackets.

Almost forgot.... our little princess is celebrating her 13th birthday today! She got a little extra treat with her afternoon feeding.

Good evening all. 36F for the start, overcast .5 inch in the rain gauge, windy. Overcast all day, wind started dropping about 11AM, and high temp was 44F. Men's meeting for the start of the day. Trip into town, for groceries and lunch, found mirror to help put ice level wire back into socket, fixed wire and turned off ice maker. Started fire in insert, got new boat sticker, changed out fridge water filter and bike ride (felt really colder than 44F). Tried to find new belt clip in town but no luck so new one is on order.
David I see several supervisors hard at it :D
Ron I hate it when labs interrupt morning routine.
Buppies, I get 4-6 scam calls a week.
Drew, sounds like enough to keep you busy anyway.
Billy, did not realize how big tree was.
Kyle would be nice to know what the effect of airplane deicing has on brain tumors. Mechanic friend of mine lost two coworkers to brain tumors.
RNG, had AT&T when still working, got phone and billing transferred to me no problem till moved to Texas. Service and customer service both went downhill in a hurry. Now Verizon customer.
Welcome desertdog71 :welcome:
Randy good to hear swelling better.
Drew nice pics
Ted, quite the picture disciplining the dog, nice work on table!!
Drives thanks for the pics, PJ posted similar pics for Saint Louis, had forgotten how much it changed over similar time period.
Jay if anyone else but stepdaughter does Scooter's nails it just about takes 3 people and he is a 15# dog.
Hawkeye, I would have a much longer list of repairs after 20 years, almost match that list after 4 :(
Ted tell the princess happy birthday!
prayers for all.

Good morning all. A little windy, however absolutely no complaints about the temperature, by midday it is expected to reach 12C/54F.

I've had some alder wood samples cooking in the kitchen range bottom oven for the last couple of days. I wanted to dry them out and then weigh them again to check the moisture content as the fire has not been catching as quickly as I expected, even though these pieces sounded dry when knocked together. Usually dry firewood comes out around 20-23% water content, these turned out to be 40-50%, so best put to one side until next autumn. Another search through the firewood pile needed today.

My other tasks taking a bit longer, so not anticipating much on the carport. Maybe a good thing. Weighing against the galvanized/zinc welding may just borrow from Versatube and bolt on some beefy gussets and brackets.

David, we aren't fooled, just come out with what you are really thinking - another opportunity to play with ....
