23 right now, going to low 30's. Even though it's really not that cold, it sure is causing some havoc at work. All our critical equipment is steam traced but I'm sure getting a lot of alarms this morning. :mur:

Good Morning! 38F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 44F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Looks like we're in for cold and clear weather through the weekend, maybe have a frost tomorrow morning. Think I prefer warm and wet.

Cute little VW radio. Now is it the pink pill or the blue pill that makes me small? I'll have to ask Alice, when she's ten feet tall!

Widened the holes in the wheel spacers yesterday, but they still wouldn't seat all the way onto the hubs without cutting a big chamfer on the central through hole. That wasn't mentioned either, so it's a good thing I brought a hub home from the mechanic's. I suspect his figures on the bolt circle diameter are off as well.:confused2:

A friend of mine would like to sell me a used motorcycle transmission, but some of the gears were rusted from sitting and have pitted teeth as a result. He says it runs fine but whines a bit as a result. I'm thinking I'll pass on it, as I'd like to have it on a shelf for a spare. It would probably be OK for ten or twenty thousand miles, but I don't want to take the chance.

Got the new bar mounted on the ebay Stihl and swapped chains with the MS271. Then cleaned up the old saw in preparation for selling it. For some reason most of the paint has come off that old chain bar and it's down to bare, shiny metal. Seems like Stihl didn't sand or etch the steel or prime before the paint, and it doesn't stick very well. My other, smaller Stihl doesn't have this problem, nor does the pole saw. Looks funny with the heat tint showing around the spot welds and along the grooved edges, presumably where they hardened the steel. Anybody else have that problem?

Got another smart switch installed, but for some reason it doesn't want to join the WiFi network. So that's on the troubleshooting agenda for this morning.

Have a great weekend gang!

some pics from my VA trip; those rams have quite the nasty horns. I thought the green house with the precision lawn striping to be a bit much; everything else out there was
much more subdued. Nice looking house though; crazy steep lawns in this area to mow; glad my brother has a Kubota 4wd mower. He says you can see Maryland on the far horizon on a clear day they are so high up. Their home is about five miles North off Route 66. Last pic is of their house, pretty modest, bought for the view and location.

I woke up in a near panic that my youtube post may be offensive to some. Very sorry if I hurt any feelings. All in good fun.

I think Eric can sort out fun from insult.

A bunch of wrecks here this morning from the freezing rain, but up close to 40 now. 55 later today, near 70 tomorrow, then freezing on Monday. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\

We're sitting here in the dark with the power out at our house Wylie Texas. I don't think it is weather related because best thing (Glenda) got an alert earlier to not be surprised with power interuptions due to a project around the corner.

Things are all a tither here because of the northerner coming through. We're getting one of those fifty degree drop in fourteen hours events, almost 70 to day and in the teens in the morning. I haven't lit the fire yet but the logs are in place and ready. It's going to be a cold week supposedly. The orange trees have their 500 watt work lights for heat and are covered. That's how we can have oranges from our own trees here in north Texas, at least since 1993.

Ended up with about 6" of snow here in Bethel. I haven't cleared the snow yet since we're expecting freezing rain tonight....I'll clear tomorrow morning, early. The high is suppose to be around 40 which should dry some of it up before the work week.
A very pretty snowfall, actually. Sorry I didn't get any pics...
