Is this a tankless heater? We have a Noritz of about the same vintage that has been acting up. It is inside, garage, and has been intermittently shutting down and flashing a "90" code, which means a problem with the combustion chamber. We've had a repairman out twice but can't recreate the problem. It usually konks out during or right after my pm shower.Repairman is coming back today after talking to a factory engineer so we will see. Ours is propane,I would guess that yours is electric with all your system.

Nope, propane here as well. From my research, consensus seems to be that unless a straight forward fix on a not too old unit usually more cost effective in long run to just replace unit. Always a hard decision given the cost. I know locally adding in the os of he service call pushes the numbers quickly. Guess I’m fortunate in that I can/will do the replacement myself, so basically cost of material and my ‘free’ time.

Wife had a mixed day at eye doc. Says current eye is slowly healing and he wants to recheck in 2 weeks. Keeps her on light duty until then, nothing strenuous like mowing or weed whacking.

Next week’s surgery on 2nd eye postponed until Feb or even Mar, something about scheduling issues at the hospital.

Picked up the 41 piece screwdriver set at Sears. Clerk told me they we still trade out the broken ones up to 5 at a time. Need to find them all and make it a point to do so while we still have a Sears.

Sad to learn the local brewery(recently under new management) has discontinued 2 of my favorites, the Porter and Southern Cross ale. Awwwwww, the adjustments we must endure.

Wife and I had a very nice, leisurely, late lunch. Had planned on Sushi, but they were closed for vacation so ended up down the street where we go for lobster. Don’t think we ever had lunch there so not familiar with that menu. Wife had a chicken linguini and I had a steak sandwich. Had pork ribs and calamari as appetizers.

By the time we got home it was time for energy conservation. After the furry ones got their McNuggets it was time for a game of cards - I finally won again, but it was close.

Good Evening!!!! 47F @ 10PM. Partly cloudy skies. Low 42F. Winds light and variable.

Mostly uneventful ride home, with the expected increased wind resistance on the upper body. If I wasn't careful, I'd end up hanging off the handlebars in the wind blast instead of balancing my upper body weight on the wind pressure, to counter unexpected handlebar inputs. Plenty of tread left on the front tire, and as an added bonus, the rear brake shoes got well bedded in and actually work for a change. Even better, no jacka$$ drivers when passing through Sacramento, I guess they're all recovering from New Years. Got everything unpacked and the camping gear spread out to dry, then took a loooong nap while the wood burner took the chill off the house. There's no place like home, and nothing like home made noodle soup!

Very happy to see continued recoveries from the sick list, hints that 2020 is going to be a banner year. I sure hope so!

If you're a Downton Abbey fan, the movie is a treasure. Keep a box of tissues handy to sop up the tears of joy.:)

Up with a cough. Hear rain on the roof. From the radar looks like a lot of rain today.

Good morning,
the temp is 35 and it will be going down to 32°F later today. Wind WSW11 mph. 60% chance of flurries. The power that be, are keeping mum about accumulation.

I think today will be an energy conservation day.

Have a good day all

Good morning all. An energy conservation day sounds good, although first I need to find enough energy to be worth conserving.

RNG, that ride is not one you are going to forget. It was fun to "share", especially as for us, that meant not having to sleep next to the crazy guy. :) Maybe you could put a bit more research into better places to stay.

Sodamo, hope Sophie is not too disappointed having to wait slightly longer. This year's eye surgery should be even better than 2019 - she will have 2020 vision ;)
