46 and light rain, going to 60 and more rain.

Ted, I hope you are feeling better today.

Eric, I've been waiting for a chance to "play" the "2020 vision" remark. You beat me to it.

Took Coco for a hike near the quarry...they set off an explosion that rocked us hard...reminded me of the big earthquake several years ago. Then the smell of explosive hung in he air for a long time. Otherwise, a good hike.

Decided to take advantage of the 57F and light wind to work on the zero-turn. Did as much of the 150 hour maintenance as I had daylight including changing the gearbox oil and doing a bonus engine oil and filter change. Will finish the rest on the next nice day.

Already Friday...another week flew by.

.3” of rain already this morning and 46°.
Looks like rain through tomorrow.
Glad I got 4 more stump sinks leveled yesterday. Took out a stump while I was at it.

Got to go to cardiologist today for follow up, it’s been three weeks today since my surgery and the difference in the last ten days is just amazing.
I’m not thirty again, but feeling like a healthy 67 is great after the last couple of years.

Good day and prayers to all.

Good morning. It's 49° here with very heavy fog ... probably less than 1/4 mile visibility. The sun should show up and burn this off by mid morning but ... I need to head out for the Richmond house by no later than 6 a.m. this will be an "interesting" drive. Our forecast is for 69° this afternoon and a sunny weekend with highs in the mid 70's.

My early morning trip is partially to offload about half a p/u load of recycling in Richmond before the recycle truck comes by early this morning. They don't do much recycling ... out here in the frontier. I also need some hardware for a couple of shop projects that I can't source locally.

RNG ... glad you're home safe and sound.

David ... I had same thoughts about Sears a few months ago and gathered up several ratchets to get replaced. Hope you get your water heater sorted.

BEF ... hope you get over your cough.

Randy ... we've had really good results using Wet & Forget on the north facing siding on our house. The effect seems to last. I apply it using my foam gun and pressure washer. I can do second story from the ground.

Good evening and Happy New Year....

Waiting for the rain to arrive. Supposed to be near 50 through tomorrow night.

First day back to work in about 2 weeks. It was real answering the phones today. My favorite was the guy who called, had a starter that was cranking slow when cold, so he got a 途ebuild from an aftermarket supplier that didn稚 work at all, took it back, got another one, same outcome, got another one, same outcome. So he calls our tech line, gives me the sad tale of woe and wanted to know what to do to fixit. Here痴 your sign.

I told him we sell new starters that work.

Sometime between Sept. 3 and Dec. 16, I am going to stop dealing with those types of calls! I hope to have the patience to make it!

Everyone have a safe and good day

Rich,

The last few months of work can be very challenging as you might find it harder than ever to hold your tongue! Good luck and hang in there .

Frank

Thanks Frank,

I am already finding it difficult to bite my tongue. A lot of it is my fault too...I deal with very complex hydraulic and electrical systems I find easy to work with and understand. Many of the calls I get are from people that are bewildered by a burned out bulb. I don稚 handle that divide very well.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37ー with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42ー with mostly cloudy skies. Got some of my shopping done yesterday. Going to finish it today.
Got to Dr's office 1:40. Found out I was suppose to be there at 10:30. It was a blood draw for so they took care of me. Made sure I have time for next weeks visit time correct. 1:20 on the 10th. Place sent me 6 notices about the appointment. But I never looked at the time. Must be another problem with getting older.

RNG, glad you made it home without problems. I remember staying at a few of them thin walled motels over the years. With similar sleepless nights. Called the office and got a different room.

David, hope you get water heater fixed. Hope Sophie's eye heals.

Buckeye, get rid of the cough.

Thomas, I need to check my trail cam. Have not checked for a couple of months. Always some interesting pictures.

Rich, good luck making it to retirement without an incident. Sometimes hard to do. Being in customer service most of my 45 years while employed. There are times when I should have held my tongue. But didn't. I look back at some of them and giggle today. No matter what I always fixed the machine. I remember a plant manager at a Ford assembly plant in NY told me they would never let me back in his plant again after I had fixed plants machine. I pulled out my wallet and handed him my business card telling him to make sure he didn't get this guy next time his plant needed a service tech. Guess who got called next time plant needed one. :D

Good Morning All.

Speaking of holding tongues; my Dad worked the ticket window at Union Station in Toronto for Canadian Pacific Railway. Many times a passenger would rush up to his window and ask, "what time does the 4 O'clock train leave"? His answer, "3:60". Shortly after that incident the powers that be made him Toronto Terminal passenger agent. A raise in pay and better hours.

Good answer
Like when nurse ask you your height and your 6'1" and she question your answer than say its really 73" than she believe you,or when someone says were going to get 12" snow and you say I heard foot snow and they say I didn't know we were going to get that much.

\RNG, that ride is not one you are going to forget. It was fun to "share", especially as for us, that meant not having to sleep next to the crazy guy. :) Maybe you could put a bit more research into better places to stay.

I've never had a problem with the Americas Best chain before, Eric, and this one had been recently remodeled, with upgraded bathroom, fresh carpet, and new paint on the exterior. It looked beautiful, but those paper thin walls were not addressed. It got a four star out of five rating on Google, for what that's worth. In the future, though, I'll be asking about demented neighbors at the checkin desk.

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 5:15AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 61F. Winds light and variable.

I once asked a clerk in a stationary store if I could purchase two feet of tissue paper. I was told it was only sold by the yard. So I asked if she could sell me two thirds of a yard, and she smiled as she sliced off two feet from the roll.:confused2:

Much of yesterday's ride was through fog, which didn't limit visibility so much as it did lower the temperature. Fortunately, the repair to the heated jacket power cord held up, and turning the control all the way up kept me comfortably warm. I never appreciated how much difference that piece of plastic in the windshield made in comfort, and in noise level, before. My ears are still ringing, more than usual...

Not sure what's on the agenda for today, but there's enough catching up to do to rule out energy conservation. That'll have to wait, maybe for the rain that is predicted for tomorrow.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning! 48˚F to 58˚F today with mostly clear skies.

Lots of options today but most likely will play on the tractor spreading mulch - our accumulative mulch pile is the size of a house. I can spread 22 FEL's full around the new gardens.

My wife starts her 3rd semester of Spanish today in the language club.

I had a Ohio State cop, who by the way was holding my drivers' licence in his hand ask me how tall I was. It is right there on the license. 193 cm., which I told him. He didn't much like my answer, but the six other guys in the scale house loved it. He informed me that I was teetering very close to a jail cell, so I told him in terms he could understand. 6'4"

Prayers to all.

I finally sprayed some wet and forget with a pump sprayer, and it removed as high as I could spray. It works.

Rick have you ever tried wet & forget on rock?

Good morning to all! Low of 16, going for a high of 45, sunny. We did get some quick moving snow squalls through yesterday, only a dusting left after each one. They were spread far enough apart that the sun would melt the little snow off, then the next would come by....

Today should be nice enough outside to take down the Christmas lights. I procrastinated last year and then got a bunch of snow making the job miserable.... I do not think that I will take the chance....

I think I am over the worst of this bug, just a nagging cough and congestion left. Fuel gauge seems a bit on the low side... not much energy

Randy, glad to hear that you are improving and feeling much better!

David, sorry to hear about the water heater troubles. I would recommend getting a new one... you might be able to replace some parts, but more than likely, the the heater will become listed as obsolete next year.... just bite the bullet and replace....
I hope Sophie can get her vision all squared away.

WNG, how far from the quarry were you when they blasted? We are about 7 miles from one out here and we can always feel the percussion from when they blast. Enough to make the glasses in the cabinets rattle.

RNG, glad you made it back home without incident. Looks like you have some work on the bike lined up already!

Well, gonna get moving.... everyone have a great day! Prayers sent.

Thomas, wifey ‘ s list said “ no substitutions “ .... she did not mention any additional items to the list.... sounds like an open invitation to get those extras....:D:drink:
