Pretty rare to see an antlered buck here, too, Ron. But this year they're all over the place. Earlier this week there was a gang of four hanging around, all spikes or small forks, probably last year's fawns. And the three point and his harem cruise through almost every day. We've had enough rain that the grass is starting to sprout, but there's not enough yet for them to eat. Hard times for deer right now.

Deer like apples, especially crab apples. Just don't get caught shooting them when they are feeding.

Wng, good luck with the tree across the creek. I always enjoy thinking of how best to cut down a tree that is in an awkward position - it's like playing jenga with a chainsaw.

Got a chuckle out of that. Unless you cut wood you don’t appreciate the thought that goes into it.

Congratulations to your son LS. I changed employers once in my 36 year career and the job offer came the week before Christmas, too. It made for a very happy holiday!

19°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 44° today.

Last full week of work until after the holidays is coming to a close, and I don't mind that at all. Off at noon on Tuesday through the end of Xmas week, and the same for New Years' week. Already have my studio time mapped out. Guess I'll need to make some time to pop in here once in awhile, lest I get hopelessly behind reading this thread alone.

46F this morning with 25mph sustained winds out of south. Blew all night, gusting and rattling gable fan cover, roll up blinds, and whatever else is not tied down.

14° this morning. Went in to work a little earlier. Had neurologist visit, he said lm doing well, don’t need to come back. 3 months ago when I visited I was in wheelchair. He was surprised how much I had improved. I told him I still have lots of tingling in feet. He thinks it will be a slow gradual improvement.

Trying to see if I can take off one day next week. Will take at least a couple half days.
