Good morning!!!!

Good Friday Morning. It's a balmy 50° this morning ... 26° warmer than this time yesterday. Our high is forecast to be 59° 5his afternoon. Maybe some rain by mid day coming out of N. Mexico. We've had little rain in November or December so some rain will be welcome. Long term forecast says 73° on Christmas Day.

I started building another burn pile yesterday, with about 20 cedar trees, I've cut down over last few weeks. I also pushed over 5 long dead trees but need to cut most of them into 2-3 shorter sections so, I can get them between other trees and to the burn pile. Once that's done I'll put the bucket back on the LS and fill the holes from the dead trees.

Ron ... those ribs look fit to eat. I'm doing another rack or two this weekend ... but telling everyone I slaved over our smoker for 12 hours.

David ... your new concrete slab looks well done.

L4N ... you must like going to town as much as I like having to go into Houston.

Drew ... join the Instant Pot Club! I'm thinking you'll like the result.

Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Prayers to all.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 26ー with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35ー with mostly cloudy skies. Found out that Sassy does not like going out when ground is cold. Tried a set of booties. It was a no go. So I had to walk her out into the yard. Then she did her business. Hope she gets to where she will do her business without me walking her out there. I do not like the cold either.
Going to go shopping with aunt again today. Hope it's last shopping trip until after Christmas. No other plans for the day.
Deer must be hungry. They are showing up at feeders in daylight.

Buppies, one of your trucks or purchase?

Drew, I like the instapot and air fryer because they do not require me to use the larger slow cooker and oven. With 60 sq ft of counter space. They work very well for me. Biggest plus I can decide to do my cooking at last minute.

Mostly, using my bike for exercise will be on my New Years resolution list. But not until Spring.

Rich, I have had my Michigan Enhanced Drivers Licences for 8 years. Only needed a birth certificate back then. I need to renew mine next year. New Secretary of State that was elected 2 years ago has screwed up a fairly good working DMV. Pushed everyone to use on line appointments. At this time there are no open appointments available until mid January. Even those appointments take several hours to get done. :confused3:

RNG, good pictures. It's a rare thing to see a buck here with antlers.

David, nice looking concrete job.

Don, glad you got car back and it looks good.

Good Morning All.

Birdsong sounds just the same this morning, but only because the hearing aids are still in the box - way too expensive for me to risk loosing while putting out hay !

Eric, I'm guessing you got the BTE (behind the ear) models. I let my hearing aid lady talk me into trying some of those, but I was afraid I'd lose them, so I've stayed with the old fashioned ITE (in the ear) type. Now my first Beltone lady, many years ago, was telling me about their warranty and she said some had lost hearing aids and claimed they fell out of the ear. She said that just could not happen. Well, very rare perhaps, but it CAN happen. Some years ago, I was lying on my back under the motorhome changing the oil filter when one of the hearing aids fell out, but of course was not last or damaged. And then, just this past summer, I was bending over, taking the grass catcher off the lawnmower and one of my hearing aids fell out. So, yes, you CAN lose them.

Good morning All. 16 this morning did not feel so bad this morning since the north west wind was absent. 26 right now and headed to mid thirties with lots of sun . Not much on the plate today. Tonight we have been invited to a Christmas cantata at our neighbor’s church. This production got rave reviews last weekend. Have a great start to the weekend all.

RNG, nice bike, where is the heater control?

There are two, Drew. The one for the hand grips is on the dash. The other one is for the heated jacket, and is in a little box at the back of the tank bag. The tank bag is set up so it can move from bike to bike, so that one control, and all the electronics in the tank bag, don't have to be reproduced every time I change rides. Both of the heater controls are the same, though, and use a potentiometer to control a circuit that changes the on time of the heating elements. Perfect for getting just the right amount of heat, not too hot, not too cold, but just right. No more excuses for being cold on a motorcycle these days.

Good morning to all! Low only down to 20, going up to 45 today. Highs for the weekend will be 50 - 52. Monday temps drop like a rock and snow for Tuesday night and Christmas Day.

Drew, I cannot believe that you are colder than here this morning. Is it a rare occurrence to be that cold?

Wng, glad you got some saw time in.

Jay, glad you got home without any further incidents. How is Peg doing....hopefully not too much pain. Glad your snow / drive was taken care of while you were away.

RNG, try to stay dry and have some fun on the road trip!

Ron, Sassy sounds like our little lady Cassie. When she goes out in the cold / snow, her back feet barely touch the ground....almost tip - toes on the front. Funny to watch. She is 14 now, but her pads are as soft as a puppy.... princess life....:)

We were able to finally finish the metal roof on the garage project. Well, the son did... I stayed on the ground, cut the pieces and handed them up. His wrist is still sore from driving about 2K screws. A major step to completion. All the prep for paint is done. He is starting that today, he wants to get the painting done by Sunday.

Today I am hoping to get the BH on and dig the trench for electric out to the garage. The mud finally dried up enough, but the ground is still soft. Probably my only opportunity for the next couple of days to do it before more nasty weather moves in.

My son got a great Christmas present yesterday.... a call from the state engineer office..... he was offered a position in the IT department there. A long term career position. We are extremely happy for him and his family. Of course he accepted....

Hope everyone has a great day! Prayers sent.

Good morning! 45 cloudy. Had a bowl of Instant Pot "Curry in a Hurry" yesterday. We call it that because it takes just 10 minutes. At the end, to help it cool to eat it in a hurry, I throw in frozen peas. I can't give you the recipe because we do it so fast without measuring anything.

For Christmas at Mom's we will have Instant Pot split pea soup. I'm also going to make 3 ingredient (no cook) paydays for the party, with dates/peanuts and ? I hope I can find that recipe.

Dog walk, store run, hang a picture and a few more small jobs. The "Clubs" have recessed for the holidays.

Eric let us know how your learning curve in coming as the hearing aids are teaching your brain new sounds. What kind did you get? How many different programs? Phone or remote control?

Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 7:00AM. Clouds and some sun this morning with more clouds for this afternoon. High 62F. Winds light and variable.

I have a friend that has lost several hearing aids over the past few years, Eric. They don't fall off or out, he just misplaces them. They're so small, they're easy to lose track of. His latest pair are of an experimental design that use a mirror "glued" to the ear drum, and a laser in an in-ear plug that is driven by a microphone and amplifier. Somehow the laser hitting the mirror causes it to vibrate in synch with what the microphone "hears". He has an app on his phone with which he can tune the electronics, but he struggles to find the correct settings, which apparently are different for each person. The good news is that, being part of the experiment, he gets a new set about once a year that incorporates the latest updates in the electronics and hardware, and he says it is getting better. I hope you can figure out a way keep your hearing aids where they belong so you can use them all the time, or at least all the time you wish to hear. If you're like me, there are lots of times I wish I couldn't hear what I'm hearing...

Nice job on that concrete, David. What equipment did you rent from Home Depot? I have a few concrete projects coming up, my mixer is on the small side, and I'm thinking of renting a bigger one. If HD loans out the mixer for free if you buy the concrete from them, that would be a good deal!

I don't blame you for wanting to stay home, Bill. Especially at this time of year when everybody and their brother is panicing about Christmas presents and driving home drunk from their Christmas parties.:confused2:

Pretty rare to see an antlered buck here, too, Ron. But this year they're all over the place. Earlier this week there was a gang of four hanging around, all spikes or small forks, probably last year's fawns. And the three point and his harem cruise through almost every day. We've had enough rain that the grass is starting to sprout, but there's not enough yet for them to eat. Hard times for deer right now.

Glad your truck is back on one piece and was done well, Don. I haven't had very much luck getting good work out of body shops, but then maybe I'm just extra particular?

Lord help me, but my favorite Christmas movie is Lethal Weapon, and I watched it again last night. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover made a good team back then...

I'll be passing through Sacramento later today, and think I'll stop by the REI store there to see if I can find a pair of travel shoes. Ones that are comfortable to walk in, but that collapse down and don't take much room to pack. The ones I have now are river shoes, with mesh uppers so water can drain out easily, but they're so old they're starting to fray. And of course, you just can't go out and buy another pair of the same ones because they don't make that particular style any more.:confused2:

TGIF gang!:drink:
