Not that I think hearing aids are funny (they're probably in my future as well), but because copy'n'paste is so easy:

Farmer & Hearing Aid

The old farmer had been tilling his 160 acres for many years, and though his wife had long complained about his poor hearing, he'd yet to do anything about it. One morning at breakfast, she shouted "Henry, I made an appointment for you next week at the ear doctor to see about a hearing aid. The grandkids were here all last week and both remarked that you hardly said anything to either one of them. They're not gonna be young forever, and you're gonna miss it if you don't get your ears fixed!"

Henry loved his grandkids, and while he didn't care much for what most folks had to say these days, he knew his wife was right. So when the day came for his appointment he got there right on time and was pleased with the new doctor. Even better, when he walked out of the office he could hear music in the lobby, the cute nurse's goodbye, and even birds singing in the trees outside. It was even better when he got home because he was hearing things he hadn't for years. He also noticed his wife was a lot nicer to him, and wasn't yelling for a change!

Things were great for the next couple of weeks until one morning he came down to breakfast and couldn't hear a thing. It was just like the old days again, so right away his wife called the doctor and got him another appointment for that same afternoon. It didn't take the doctor long to figure out that Henry's hearing wasn't what it should be, so he got out his light and looked in Henry's ear. He wasn't sure what he was seeing, so he used a pair of hemostats and pulled out something that clearly wasn't a hearing aid.

"Henry, what's this suppository doing in your ear?" the doc asked.

"I have no idea", said Henry". "But where do you suppose my hearing aid got to?"

Toppop, they don't know about the truck, they want to flush the coolant first even though I told them this was mechanical/electronic...They'll do that, probably replace the thermostat, and then finally diagnose a bad sensor or brain. This truck has not been the same since the last major update/flash.

split wood for several hours this morning, good to get some exercise though not so easy on back. Going to chill for rest of day.
Local farmers out in force bringing in last of soybeans. Saw this farmer plus two other yellow Lexion combines out in the field making dust.

RNG- Thanks for the laugh.

Drew- Good luck with the truck. Thanks for the pictures. You earned today's R&R.

Today's snow so far. Just enough to cover the less than white plowed snow which is nice; but just enough to cover the brown snow in the driveway which may prove to be problematic.

Too bad Wifey has to make a pharmacy run down to the "Big City" this PM.

Good morning All. Although it is afternoon already. Boy how the days fly by! A chilly 33 to start this morning. Cloudy and 47 now. The air didn’t get much nicer when the winds shifted from the N-NW to the S-SW like it normally does. Hope that all are having a productive end to the week and that everyone stays safe and healthy this weekend.

Frank

Hi Frank always happy to see another Frank around.

Wifey's pharmacy run was aborted due to hazardous road conditions.. It took my Wife 1 hour to get down to the bottom of our hill and back due to slippery roads, stopped traffic, vehicles off the road, and the town's plows finally getting on-scene. A total round trip of 3 miles.

Glad she is safe and didn’t have any serious issues.

Frank- Thanks. She's a decent snow driver. If one does not have an AWD and/or 4WD vehicle around here one may not make it home during a snow/ice storm. 1 hour to make it down to the bottom of our hill and back is a new record. Nice avatar.

".... Nasty weather coming next week rain mild cold milder rain cold stuck in a rut we are"- Buppies

You/I posted about this ~week(s) ago Rain as Wifey/Driver-Baggage Guy leave and a possible major league rain event the day(s) we get back from CR.

In a very selfish way I am not unhappy as a snow lover.

Good evening it has been cold 20's & 30's for most of the week since the snow. Did get a little tractor time Tuesday morning before the city plow hit the street then my driveway and daughters. Then to lake to snow blow there, don't know what I was thinking getting a snowblower I should have just purchased a trailer for the John Deere.
Drew and Thomas sorry to read about your friends, yes Drew it does make you feel mortal.
Well everyone is starting to gear up for the holidays. Trees going up, gifts getting wrapped wallet empty.

Good evening all. 50F this morning, mostly overcast and windy. Wind increase till early afternoon then dropped off, sky cleared through the day, and high temp was 61F. Putter this morning including fixing a string of Christmas lights and KP duty, worked with brake caliper on 10-speed, went for bike ride, walked the dog and napped.
Drew sorry about your friend, yes easy to feel mortal especially when they are younger than you.
Ron sorry about account. Automation is great until you have to change it manually :(
RNG sounded like a lot of work for not much progress, seems like 10 volts cranking is not a high bar.
Don, Bird bummer about your hearing, work had an aggressive program for hearing conservation. The guy that did training for safety and protection had lost 60% of hearing in one ear from shooting artillery in Vietnam. One thing he stressed was that we didn't have to find out how much it sucked to lose that much hearing. I think he was up to 80% lose when he left the training gig.
Randy good to hear tractor id performing well.
PJ when wife and I are in different room she will get softer in mid sentence. I just go to where she is so I can hear the rest.
buckeye, good luck restarting at work.
Drew, do all my splitting with wedges, no room for splitter.
Jay probably a wise choice to abort the town run. It is usually the other guys who forget how to drive in snow. Had my share of multi hour commutes home after daytime snow :(
prayers for all.

Good morning,
temp is a balmy 5 °F and going to a high of 21. Wind NW 5 mph. Sunny.
No snow overnight, so I don't have anything productive to do today. Another energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Thanks for all the info and comments on hearing aids. I'm more than happy to hear the jokes too and start the day with a smile.

Apart from what I read on TBN, I don't know of anyone who changes the oil in their car more frequently than what the manufacturer recommends, makes me wonder if engines built for the American market are made to lower standards ?

Fuse lit, now feel free to put it out however you like - just needed to find something slightly provocative to discuss so that ...

Hi Frank always happy to see another Frank around.

... all of us on Good Morning can be frank too, at least for this morning :)

good morning all. 41 going to 52 in sunshine today and tomorrow.
Oh my what a miserable past 18 hours.
Came in from log splitting, was awfully sore and very clogged up.
Took a shower, came out and started shivering.
And my upper arm, where I got the flu shot the day before, plus a pneumonia shot, was swollen and red around the shot area.
and I was cold, so cold I got in bed after lunch, turned the electric blanket to high, and felt pretty badly, clearly flu like, and I hardly ever get the flu, haven't in 20 years.
First time for everything, never had reaction to shot before.
I get the senior extra strength one, maybe this year there was something different in there.

and here I was joking with the nurse that I never get sick...sure jinxed myself.
I think flu shots are important, and glad I feel almost normal again this morning. Nurse tells me sometimes it takes a few days for the reaction to go away
so will try to take it easy today, though helper is coming at 9am for a little while, and then to take home his xmas gift.
I got him a portable jumpstarter/air compressor for the back of his car, same small size as I carry in the Audi, fine for his small car and mine, but not for
starting diesels, etc. I gave one like this to my oldest brother about three years ago, and he keeps thanking me, says it's one of the handiest things he's ever had.
If you don't have an air tank, hauling this little air compressor to the machinery, or one's own car, can save the day, so I'm a real believer in these things.

the info about the hearing aids was very helpful. Probably in my not too distant future.
