Good Morning! 55F @ 5:45AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 73F. Winds light and variable.
Well I see my weather station is back on Weather Underground, but with the wrong place name. And the place name it should have is now held by a different weather station that is not in that place. I guess this is someone's idea of progress, but it seems to be in the wrong direction. Or should I say misdirection?:confused2:
Safely delivered the van to the mechanic yesterday; even got a thumb's up from a passing car of college kids on the way in. Fingers crossed for steady progress on the work; all I can do at this point is hope for the best...
Got stung by some kind of bee as I was loading the trailer yesterday, and initially tried to ignore it. But it started burning more and more until I stopped and found the stinger and venom sack still stuck on my arm. Pulled 'em out with a pair or tweezers, being careful not to squeeze the sack, but I'm afraid my delay has cost me a badly swollen and painful lower arm. The elbow joint is stiff and painful to move, and if feels like I'm squeezing a balloon each time I try to bend the arm. First time I've ever had a reaction like this, usually it's no worse than a large mosquito bite.
Going to take some time to tidy up the garage and storage trailer, hopefully getting things more back to normal before resuming work on other projects. The change of pace will be nice.
Maybe the poor presidential choices this year will wake enough people up so that there can be some positive change in how the two major parties operate? It seems to me that they've both put their own interests before the needs of the country as a whole, both during this election season and in their behavior once in office. Whatever happened to "government of the people, by the people, and for the people"?
I also leaned yesterday that an acquaintance of mine had recently died of a heart attack. Very sudden and unexpected, as he was slim, very active and healthy, and had no major health issues. Just goes to show no matter how well you care for yourself, no one gets to pick how or when they go. This guy did a pretty good job of smelling the roses along the way, but by every estimate still had a lot more left. The prevailing sentiment seems to be we should all quit putting things off that we've always wanted to do, and be more like Jim before it's too late.
