Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 8:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 63F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
I'll be spreading PREEN pre-emergent later today, and wonder how that'll go in the wind.:confused2: It says it needs to be watered in, and from the looks of tomorrow's forecast, that won't be a problem.

Hope you got in some good R&R for your birthday, David. You sure got some pretty big presents this year!

Got the flower bed in front of the front porch cleaned up and covered with decomposed granite yesterday, had to take out about a cubic yard of dirt to make room for the DG. Also got the north side of the front yard raked using first the landscape rake on the back of the tractor, then a garden rake to get rid of all the pebbles that have come to the surface from what should have been clean fill dirt. Three more areas to rake today, but one has the backhoe parked on it, so I think I'll just sprinkle PREEN and call it good for now. Makes me tired just thinking about what's left.

It may be something that's going around, Drew. Past couple of times I've tried to start the van, it cranked but wouldn't start on the first try, then stumble the second try, then stumble and run fine. I suspect some sort of temperature sensor problem because we've cooled off so much, but I'll swap out the engine control module first to see if that's the problem.

The gal hosting the Thanksgiving dinner is supposed to get 8"-12" of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday, which would make parking for 60 guests challenging at best. I'm hoping for rain there on Wednesday to melt most of it away...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Happy belated birthday David!

21F here this morning.. realized my OOO message didn't have the right dates so responded to work emails this morning after setting the OOO correctly. I have an hour presentation this afternoon, but otherwise off work this week (have a backup so will not be checking emails at all).

I think a reasonable job plan is to stay the course for the job I accepted and see how the job goes and also see what my bonus is from old job. If I don't like the new job, the other manager I met with last week was going to hold a spot for me so I could see how it goes. He can't guarantee a spot but will do his best. If I want to move jobs again (before 6 months), it will be a battle with HR. I will learn all I can and do my best.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts for my daughter. She is doing much better (still home today). She has steroids and muscle relaxer and pain meds.. she has to be active to try and clear her lungs. She has a followup doc appt this afternoon. The grand daughter has hives on her body and itches.. not sure what is going on, her Mom and Nana think it may be the laundry detergent (she is sensitive to Tide apparently and Nana did some laundry last week when daughter was not feeling well)..

I had simple plans for Saturday, weather permitting, I wanted to put under seat storage unit in crew cab pickup (molded storage tray that goes under back seat). Weather was good, so grand daughter and I went out and took everything out, then installed storage unit, then put it all back in, including car seat. It took several hours and I wished I had energy to vacuum, but that will have to be another day. I also put together the mobile base for table saw (ordered a heavy duty unit from Amazon). I will have to modify it as my saw base is smaller. I will cut the pieces down on the sides as needed.

My wife's Kindle Fire HDX that we got her back in 2013-14 doesn't hold a charge so I ordered her a new one. She didn't want the 10" one, so got her the 8". She has a 7" and would have been happy with a direct replacement, but I didn't find one.. she has a really nice case so was hoping to not have to buy a new case. Got the bundle with case and screen protector. Seems to be black friday prices on them already.

Getting ready now for the rest of the kids coming Wednesday, oldest daughter and family rented airBnB so they have their own space to stay.. will work much better with the bored bickering teenage girls and give the littles quiet space.. Other daughter and SIL are local so they will come to dinner Thursday, I think they have to work Friday, might see them some more on the weekend... Wife decided we having ham this year.

David, nice truck, glad it worked out for you.

Sounds like folks are busy, stay safe, prayers for those in need.

Do the door cameras ((Ring)) require a monthly subscription or cloud storage that has a fee? My doorbell is on the wall on the side of my front door will I need a 90˚ bracket to angle it to the street?

Because of the angle of the camera lens. You may not need a 90° degree mount. There is a mounts up to 55° on amazon.
I bought my camera’s from Costco. They include one year of monitoring.

finished blowing leaves, then hooked up the DR trac vac and dismayed when the big plastic vacuum hose split off.
Not even four years old. Used some Gorilla tape on it and show went on, after pinching my finger nicely attaching it
to the mower deck. Head is now ringing from all the noise.

Got all of one minute into sucking up leaves and pine needles when the hose jammed, off it came, and fed it in slowly until hose cleared.
Gorilla tape did not like that, but a couple more applications of tape helped.
Been so long I started the vac it took some ether on foam air filter and it started right up.
This was after three sets of electric start cranking with no joy. Better the starter motor than my shoulder...

Price of hose at DR is no bargain. Going to see if someone else sells it, held on by simple band straps.
Unit works fine and sure beats raking a large area of a large amount of material.
Cart was totally full when i dumped it and heavy too.

Got all the wreaths put up with wire on the fence rails, and called it a day.

if I take this route, how far am I from you Don? Bird? PM me if preferred. I know where Mostly is.
I'm trying to stop each day for lunch some place so wonder how many folks are along the way?
I did not see a reason to see San Antonio other than the Alamo and it's too congested for me.
perhaps I should stop at that ice cream plant for some free samples.
