Do the door cameras ((Ring)) require a monthly subscription or cloud storage that has a fee? My doorbell is on the wall on the side of my front door will I need a 90˚ bracket to angle it to the street?

They do not require it but if you don't have the monthly plan you only get what you see at the time it happens not storage of videos if you have just 1 Ring it is $30 a year for the storage
or $10 a month if you want.

Good morning to all! Low of 31, going up to 45 today. A big mixed bag of weather moving in:
Tonight the wind will pick up, gusts to 40 mph, chance of snow showers.
Tomorrow will be windy, snow tomorrow night and continue through Friday.
No predictions for how much accumulations.

It's all heading east, I guess this system will be 'round two' for all you easterners. Sorry.....can't get the door closed...

We finally got some more work done on the son's garage....working in mud...my favorite! Trying to get it all closed in before this next batch of weather. Garage door is now 'delayed'....I'm sure because of the holidays. Now 6 weeks out... It had to be "special ordered" because of added windows and being 8' high.

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers sent out.

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 64° today. Back into the 40s for the rest of the week, except for Saturday, which is forecast at 62°, then back to the 30s and 40s. Weeeeee!

Lots more piddly stuff done this weekend. Replaced leaky toilet flapper in the upstairs bathroom, fixed leaking bottom sweep on shower door, installed a few more door stops at Wife's request ... stuff of that nature.

We lost a chicken earlier in the week. She got out of the netting somehow and was roosted high in a tree, so I left her there overnight. Found a few piles of feathers the next morning, and her remains on the north side of the barn. Finally got around to checking the game cam, and confirmed my suspicions it was an owl. A big owl. In one fuzzy photo (it was foggy that night), the neighbors cat made a silly attempt to get involved in the festivities, only to be scared off by the owl spreading it's wings upwards. The tips of those wings were probably four feet tall. Even The Wife said she'd never seen one that big around here. It came back the next night as well, but not after that.

Happy (belated) birthday, David.

Bummer about your skunk problem, wngsprd. We had one earlier this year hanging around the barn for awhile, but it eventually got hit on the road. Used to be a much bigger problem when The Wife's grandmother used to leave cat food on the old back deck all the time. We used moth balls to help cure our groundhog problem in the barn, but never thought to use them for skunks.

On amazon it said $4 month for 1 camera or $10 for multiple.

Sorry about your well fed owl Paul. They are remarkable raptors.

Truck computer fritzed for third time this morning. Turned it off and on again and fine.
Think I might be downsizing soon. I only need to pull a one ton trailer.

Ted stay warm out there

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

I got 1.25" snow from yesterday’s snow which is now all ice on my gravel driveway due to last night's temps remaining in the mid 30ºF's and the ground surface which was and still is frozen. *When a St. B. is slipping around = time for the wood ashes. *What was ugly before is now even more so. The sun reappeared a while ago which will at least melt the ice. 42ºF presently which was predicted to be today’s high. I am happy the sun is not cooperating with the NWS  Awesome weather predicted for today/tomorrow and a wet Wednesday. My smothered cajun steak came out really well last night:) It plated very well. One of these days I’ll try to take a picture, but the odds are not good.

Thanks for sharing all the pictures; especially those designed for tractors.
I really wish that I had a structure or two for my “stuff” around here, but due to my hoarding any structure would be filled with junk and not sheltering for it was intended :embarrassed:

Paul- Thanks for sharing. Sorry to about your escapee.:( That owl wants to make “good eats” out of that cat. Gray Barred and Great Horned owls will eat small pets.

29° early, 52° now, headed to upper 50s later. Warm early week, cooler by Thanksgiving. Might get some seat time today, we will see. Looked at carports, garages and travel trailers yesterday.
I need more covered space but not sure if I want to replace my single garage with a double like my other one, or just go with a 24 x30 carport.
Have a good day guys, prayers.

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 8:15AM. Abundant sunshine. High 63F. Winds NW at 15 to 25 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.
I'll be spreading PREEN pre-emergent later today, and wonder how that'll go in the wind.:confused2: It says it needs to be watered in, and from the looks of tomorrow's forecast, that won't be a problem.

Hope you got in some good R&R for your birthday, David. You sure got some pretty big presents this year!

Got the flower bed in front of the front porch cleaned up and covered with decomposed granite yesterday, had to take out about a cubic yard of dirt to make room for the DG. Also got the north side of the front yard raked using first the landscape rake on the back of the tractor, then a garden rake to get rid of all the pebbles that have come to the surface from what should have been clean fill dirt. Three more areas to rake today, but one has the backhoe parked on it, so I think I'll just sprinkle PREEN and call it good for now. Makes me tired just thinking about what's left.

It may be something that's going around, Drew. Past couple of times I've tried to start the van, it cranked but wouldn't start on the first try, then stumble the second try, then stumble and run fine. I suspect some sort of temperature sensor problem because we've cooled off so much, but I'll swap out the engine control module first to see if that's the problem.

The gal hosting the Thanksgiving dinner is supposed to get 8"-12" of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday, which would make parking for 60 guests challenging at best. I'm hoping for rain there on Wednesday to melt most of it away...

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Happy belated birthday David!

21F here this morning.. realized my OOO message didn't have the right dates so responded to work emails this morning after setting the OOO correctly. I have an hour presentation this afternoon, but otherwise off work this week (have a backup so will not be checking emails at all).

I think a reasonable job plan is to stay the course for the job I accepted and see how the job goes and also see what my bonus is from old job. If I don't like the new job, the other manager I met with last week was going to hold a spot for me so I could see how it goes. He can't guarantee a spot but will do his best. If I want to move jobs again (before 6 months), it will be a battle with HR. I will learn all I can and do my best.

Thanks for all the prayers and positive thoughts for my daughter. She is doing much better (still home today). She has steroids and muscle relaxer and pain meds.. she has to be active to try and clear her lungs. She has a followup doc appt this afternoon. The grand daughter has hives on her body and itches.. not sure what is going on, her Mom and Nana think it may be the laundry detergent (she is sensitive to Tide apparently and Nana did some laundry last week when daughter was not feeling well)..

I had simple plans for Saturday, weather permitting, I wanted to put under seat storage unit in crew cab pickup (molded storage tray that goes under back seat). Weather was good, so grand daughter and I went out and took everything out, then installed storage unit, then put it all back in, including car seat. It took several hours and I wished I had energy to vacuum, but that will have to be another day. I also put together the mobile base for table saw (ordered a heavy duty unit from Amazon). I will have to modify it as my saw base is smaller. I will cut the pieces down on the sides as needed.

My wife's Kindle Fire HDX that we got her back in 2013-14 doesn't hold a charge so I ordered her a new one. She didn't want the 10" one, so got her the 8". She has a 7" and would have been happy with a direct replacement, but I didn't find one.. she has a really nice case so was hoping to not have to buy a new case. Got the bundle with case and screen protector. Seems to be black friday prices on them already.

Getting ready now for the rest of the kids coming Wednesday, oldest daughter and family rented airBnB so they have their own space to stay.. will work much better with the bored bickering teenage girls and give the littles quiet space.. Other daughter and SIL are local so they will come to dinner Thursday, I think they have to work Friday, might see them some more on the weekend... Wife decided we having ham this year.

David, nice truck, glad it worked out for you.

Sounds like folks are busy, stay safe, prayers for those in need.

Because of the angle of the camera lens. You may not need a 90° degree mount. There is a mounts up to 55° on amazon.
I bought my camera’s from Costco. They include one year of monitoring.

finished blowing leaves, then hooked up the DR trac vac and dismayed when the big plastic vacuum hose split off.
Not even four years old. Used some Gorilla tape on it and show went on, after pinching my finger nicely attaching it
to the mower deck. Head is now ringing from all the noise.

Got all of one minute into sucking up leaves and pine needles when the hose jammed, off it came, and fed it in slowly until hose cleared.
Gorilla tape did not like that, but a couple more applications of tape helped.
Been so long I started the vac it took some ether on foam air filter and it started right up.
This was after three sets of electric start cranking with no joy. Better the starter motor than my shoulder...

Price of hose at DR is no bargain. Going to see if someone else sells it, held on by simple band straps.
Unit works fine and sure beats raking a large area of a large amount of material.
Cart was totally full when i dumped it and heavy too.

Got all the wreaths put up with wire on the fence rails, and called it a day.

if I take this route, how far am I from you Don? Bird? PM me if preferred. I know where Mostly is.
I'm trying to stop each day for lunch some place so wonder how many folks are along the way?
I did not see a reason to see San Antonio other than the Alamo and it's too congested for me.
perhaps I should stop at that ice cream plant for some free samples.
