BEF .... good to hear they're getting you up.

Welcome def38 and Wheelbuilder!

Happy Hump Day to everyone.

Prayers to all.

Need to pour first cup of coffee. 64ー with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 77ー with afternoon sun. Another round of thunderstorm passed thru our little town yesterday. More homes and business lost power. Looks like most of them got power back late yesterday evening. Was in town thought I would get a car wash. Closed no power. Crazy weather. 600,000 homes lost power in the last 1 1/2 weeks. Electric company needs to spend more money on line maintenance. Instead of renewable energy. Lawn mowing is on list today.

Wifes test yesterday were OK. But latest hospital and Dr visits are showing that her disease is slowly advancing.

Def38 your dog is cute. We got a puppy 2 months ago today. I am finding out it has decided that giving me more exercise than I need is it's goal in life. 5 month update. She now weighs 5.8 lbs. Parents were both 8 lbs. Avatar picture of our Muffin is now 14 years old.

Buckeye and Randy, good to get reports on your recovery. Prayers sent.

Eric, tell Max he needs to get out and herd the sheep into next pasture.

DABSGT, great pictures.

David, are you going to paint canopy blue?

Good Morning All.

Good morning! Whipper has been for her walk, 73˚F heading to the upper 90s. We had some cloud cover after 6PM yesterday helping to bring down this mornings temps.

Yesterday at the Honda dealership the new truck said 99˚F, the new truck at the Chevrolet dealership said 100˚F and the new truck at the Ford dealership said 103˚F. It was too hot after that to play at the GMC, Jeep and Toyota dealerships. The placing so far is Ranger 1st in features, Colorado 1st in ride, and Ridgeline 1st in back seat and bed. They say my 08 F150 is only worth 3K so I might keep it till it's worth 1K. I may have to wait till KIA starts making their pick-up.

Buckeye good to hear from you early, but not this early, glad to see the usually month long disease only lasted 3ish weeks before turning around. Has the doctor told you how long to expect the recovery to be?

Bird I think August is also the hottest Month in Texas with the most 100+ days.

Eric, I don't think Ginger or Sassy would be interested in Max unless his pic is on a big masculine tractor.:D

67 this morning and headed to 86 today.

Need to do some shopping for a bigger chain saw for this clearing project. Looking at the 460 Rancher from Husqvarna with 24” bar. Have a good 18” 400 Echo but it’s under powered for what I’m getting ready to do.

Thanks for the info on the generator. Will probably be getting one of those soon too.

Have yet to decide what I’ll get into today.

Welcome to the new faces.

For anyone trying to be organic the propane torch (weed burner) is a good alternative,
many people don't realize that they don't have to pour the heat to the weeds,
all it needs is a quick wave of the torch on the leaves if you just make them look wet it has got it.

That’s what I’ve found in my research. Getting ready for almost a mile of page wire fencing to be installed and won’t be allowed to spray chemicals inside it or on it. (Sore subject around here.) So I will be going the weed burner route for its maintenance as all it will do is chew up weed eater string.

The goal is just enough heat to destroy the cellular structure of the plant. Don’t have to burn to off. The trick maybe finding that point.

Good Morning!!!! 70F @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 98F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Last night the weather guesser called our current weather a cool off, which I suppose after the last week of 100F+ days, it is. High 90s predicted for the rest of the week, then back to the century mark for Sunday. Maybe cooling back down into the 90s again later next week. That's typical for this time of year, but it doesn't make it any more enjoyable. Sometimes, though, the fog down in the SF Bay Area cools the inbound winds enough to create what's come to be known as a Delta Breeze, a cool air current that can reach us here all the way up on the northern end of the Sacramento Valley. Last night was such a time, and the house is opened up for the first time in weeks. Ahhhhh...

Always nice to hear from new folks in the Good Morning!!!! thread!

Good luck with your new truck search, Don. I bet you're running into more buzzers and whistles than you've ever seen in a pickup truck before, huh?:confused2:

Finished painting two more eves yesterday, just two more to go. This is clearly one of those jobs to be savored in small doses over a long time, so I'll give it a rest for the next couple of days...

Tried again to get the big enduro bike running right yesterday, and finding no issues with the carbs, checked timing again. It was off, and the rotor on the front of the alternator was loose. I'd used an aluminum washer under it, and apparently the heat had expanded it and when it cooled off again the rotor loosened up. Got rid of the washers and substituted a stainless steel spacer, but it took two tries to get one the right thickness and flat. Now all I have to do is get the rotor set in just the right position, which means holding both the crank and the rotor still while the bolt is tightened. I made up a piston lock from an old spark plug and a big screw, and a pin wrench has sorta been working for the rotor, but it still requires holding my tongue in just the right place to end up where it needs to be. Maybe today will be my lucky day?:confused2:

Happy Hump Day, folks!

I give it a try later RNG. I'll probably have to do it from desktop.

Don, it's been 3.5 weeks now, so the tide should be turning. Feeling better each day, just a little more movement each day..
Took my bath in bed, waiting for 1st PT of today. PT and OT people are great. Nothing like pretty young females taking care of you.

65°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 85° today.

The dash cam showed up in the mail Monday. Set it up and used it yesterday for the commute. No fun stuff captured, but while scrolling through some of the videos last night I did determine that 1) the VGA setting has terrible video quality, and 2) the microphone seems to only pick up distorted noise for everything above a soft whisper. Trying the 720p HD setting today. Hoping that's good enough, as 1080p will be large files, and this camera only supports up to 32G microSD cards.

Good to hear from BEF.

Beautiful morning here, dipping into 40s at night, warms up to 80s in the afternoon... daughter that is building house is stopping by today to drop off a man basket she picked up at the auction for me (it needs some work, but a decent starting point).

I may have to wait till KIA starts making their pick-up.

Funny. The Wife and I joked when we were looking for a truck that it's a shame Kia doesn't make one. We'd buy that in a heartbeat. Now I look and see that they are actually working on one ... for Australia. Surely they'll end up selling it in the US as well. There can't be a bigger pickup truck market anywhere on the planet.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Another HHH day with a NWS issued Air Quality Alert. 63ºF was today’s low temperature; 76ºF presently; and I anticipate today’s hight to max in the low 80ºF’s later. Hopefully some PM showers and T-storms.

Wifey wants to go to an artsy fartsy “New Age” “Art” Museum today.:( I am more interested in the mill building itself than the displays. The resident “artists” are more interesting (weird) and entertaining (weird acting) than their exhibits.

Trails End- Welcome to GM. I am sorry I missed your post.

BEF- I am happy to read that you are finally getting a + response to treatment; too bad about your roomie.

Wheelbuilder- Welcome to GM.

Drew- Thanks for the Randy update.

Dennis- Ginger is a good looking dog. She looks well cared for. Thanks for sharing.

DABSGT- Thanks for sharing your vacation pictures. I hope you continue to have an enjoyable time and safe return home.

Eric- Max seems very content and well cared for.

RonJH- Thanks for the update on your Wife, and for sharing your picture of Muffin.

“…. I may have to wait till KIA starts making their pick-up.”- Don. I/We am/re waiting to replace my Tundra with a small truck as well. VW is supposedly working on a compact truck also. All I need is a truck bed large enough to carry fuel canisters and garbage with enough cab space to transport me, Wifey, and Brogen.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day and those mending keep on mending.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers

Good morning, I forgot the grand kids were coming yesterday and now after a day of nothing but play I need to catch up on some weeding before they go and set seed.

BEF and anyone else planning on spending some time indoors today may enjoy watching this. If you don't have an hour to spare, add it to your bucket list ;)

Dennis, I just told Max I've seen a really cute dog called Ginger. He woke up just long enough to do a few seconds of wondering too -does she have a boyfriend ? :)

Yes, mostly, the UPS fellow.

Also, the CVS pharmacy folks want me to bring her in for an introduction. They said to sneak her in in a blanket...yeah right. Ginger says, "I can't go for that, no no no".

Good morning to all! Low of 58, felt good. Going up to a high of 90. Chances increase for showers by the weekend with temps in the mid 80's.

Jay and Don, don't forget about Nissan. They have the Frontier for a midsize pickup and the Titan for the full size. When I was shopping around, they had the others beat by almost 20% for the same if not better features / options. Worth a look anyway.

The son and DIL are settling in, still lots to do. I sat back and 'supervised' (staying off the knee) for a couple of days, and it's gotten a better (back to its normal daily swelling and pain). The shots have definitely worn off. I'm still waiting for that "super shot" that Drew ordered.

Nice pics of the vacation DABSGT, really like the riverboat. Sure seems to be bigger than most.

RNG, sounds like you're getting a bunch done despite the high heat! Don't over do it.

BEF and Randy, prayers sent for your continued improvements. Hope you guys get better soon!

Everyone have a great day! Prayers for all.
