Good morning!!!!

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!

A surprising foggy 31ºF with freezing drizzle/drizzle early this AM fro Walk #1 by 6AM the temperature had risen to 43ºF (today’s high temperature) and the temperature has been slowly dropping ever since with the wind picking up to ~10 mph (sustained) with gusts ~30mph. Fortunately this wind is helping remove the standing surface water. Presently 39ºF with anticipated lows tonight ~mid teens.

I spent my morning with a dump and supply run to the “Big City.”

One of my Yaktrax pullover ice cleats is starting to fail. They apparently do not hold up well to brush as well as rocks. I ordered a different brand of ice cleat. These look to be a little more robust with little exposed rubber/neoprene for rocks and brush to lacerate. We’ll see.

Harv- Dozer is one cute and comfortable looking dog. Nice shop pictures. Thanks for sharing

Ted- Thanks for sharing your winter wonderland pictures.

Bruce- 6184 miles is commendable. I wish you safe travels.

Billy- I am happy that you enjoyed Perry Mason.

“Ted, take it slow with the snow. I thought you said you could hardly walk yesterday? Your wife needs to get a big blob of museum putty and stick you to a chair! ”- Drew I can visualize Ted glued to his chair, crampon tipped cane in one hand, and a snow shovel in his other sliding around moving snow.

RonJH- Awesome picture. Thanks for sharing:)

“….. The wind right now sounds like it’s going to blow my sun room off it’s foundation.”- Phil I heard another tree snap on my property walking Brogen this PM. I should do a tree count of all the trees that have snapped in two due to wind damage this Season. I have all kinds of hanging widow makers waiting to fall. I doubt my tractor will travel too far from its wood and snow management areas this Winter.

Randy- I am happy to read about your families’ gathering.

“Mail order dope.”- Bill  BCBudDepot, a Canadian based company, is a great source for seeds. As a medical marijuana patient I too have to go through the annual recertifications, and card renewals. There is an active “skunkworks” lab in my cellar;), all legal in MA. As I understand MM “home delivery” is now being studied for proposal.

“…. see, you're a tough old Bird. ”- Drew I agree.

Bird- Sorry to read about your mug.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers

I get mine through Canada Post. Cheapest shipping there is signature required.
I know for a fact that I am not allowed to ship to the states. Not even a little seed. I don't know if it is the same for you, but I suspect it is.
I think I am going to cancel the registrations and buy online like everybody else.

I have all of the TBN stuff. Including bumper stickers.

And I had a bunch of those bumper stickers, and now I can't find them. I don't remember getting rid of them, so maybe they'll turn up around here one of these days.

I致e been using CBD oil on my lower back for a few days, good results so far. A beautiful day today, a little breeze, but bright sun and near 60ー.
I know this makes me a pariah, but I drink my coffee from Chibet Comfort Cups. :D

What are they?

Answered my own question. Less dishes to wash.

Buppies- I am happy to read of a beautiful day down your way. Today was a beautiful windy day here as well. Brogen is taking advantage of any and all remaining snow and ice. If his ears could achieve more lift in today's wind he had potential to become a flying St. B. like Dumbo the flying elephant.:cool:

As a snow lover I am not a happy camper this Season. My 19&5/8'''s of accumulated snow is either gone, hiding under surface vegetation at ready, or remains an ice slick in the woods and shaded areas. Today's wind did remove a lot of the standing surface water. Like you, myself, and others have posted; until the Pacific weather calms down, the split jet streams start phasing, and the Atlantic starts to show signs of life nothing is going to change weather-wise. January 3 - 5 potential has models all over the place. January 7 - 9 has a food fight going on amongst the weather brainiacs = ?. It does look like the global weather pattern is changing mid January.

Randy- I had to google those cups. They do work. I'd keep reusing the one I had; the one with my name on it. I am coffee married to my glass cups. I'd use a TBN cup if I could get one; but I'd probably end up dropping and breaking it like everyone else.

I'd put a TBN bumper decal of my Tundra too if I had one.:wink:

You are correct. It is still a federal crime to use the USPS and other carriers to transport THC marijuana products into or w/i the USA. The States' legalization of MJ results in huge, far reaching, intra and extra state possession and transport legal challenges. I will keep my certification and registrations in effect in the naive hope that someday, somehow insurance will cover the costs and I get a cheap co-pay.

Yep, old age keeps getting worse. I've been using my TBN coffee cup every morning for I don't know how long. And this morning after I finished my customary 4 cups of coffee, I washed the cup, started to put it away, and dropped it and broke it.:pullinghair:

Bird, considering you're the most senior member of TBN...probably have the most posts too...I hope the TBN management sends you a replacement!!

I concur.
Sorry Bird.

I was discussing geneology, and asked my MIL about hers, she handed me a huge 4-5" book that details her paternal grandmothers back 8 generations from her dad.
Now her grandfathers side is not as documented, but she did have a book on her mat side also.
But the book was published in 1983, so a lot of new kids not in it.
In afternoon i took her, my wife on a road trip back around the mt where they were born and grew up. We drove by a few church graveyards where her relatives are buried, plus around the farm where a lot of her family lives..
Nice drive.
Then she fixed us a turkey and ham dinner, with all the fixins.
Im stuffed.

FIL is a lincoln, his father side is very well documented, lol

1 and going to a high of 25°F. Wind E 7 mph. A few flurries, most likely about an inch.

The left knee feels somewhat better. I am mixing 10mg thc +35 mg of cbd oil taken under the tongue.
The thc has a tendency to make me drousey, but that is a good thing as I am not going anywhere and I can just fall into bed and sleep it off.
I think I know what caused it all. Lack of water. 3 liters of coffee in a day and not cool, clear water. I haven't had any coffee for two days and I'm only drinking bottled water, now.

Another conserve energy day today.

daugen; did you get the reply to the PM?

Have a good day all

Good morning. Cooler 46 out going up to 55 today, cloudy,
hopefully a chance to dry out a little, yet here comes another system
into NC and VA this morning. They say a stormy New Years Eve for many.
And then another batch of rain mid next week.
As I watch my white plastic horse fencing slowly turn green.

Almanac says warm winter, but I bit the bullet last night and bought a snow blower off Amazon.
Maybe once or twice a year, but without it, I have to shovel. Researched corded and cordless varieties.
Existing cordless system is Makita and they don't make one. Cordless battery maintenance on something that hardly ever
gets used is iffy. So I went with what worked so well for me before. Everyone wanted to borrow my little corded snowblower, I forgot the brand but it worked marvelously. So I ordered a single stage 15 amp model, much more powerful than 7amp cordless. And I already have lots of heavy gauge extension cords. Old fashioned corded models are the simplest and most reliable, can hang it on wall and ignore it until time to use it.
Hoping that by ordering it now, all snow will be avoided. Now have 50 pound bag of snow melt, I am ready. Wasn't last year and decided shoveling that unusual five inch snow was the pits.

All this rain is likely to mean more snow for New England.
The last winter I lived in PA the snow totaled over my head, 6 feet.
Actually I enjoyed the opportunities to clear snow, had a nice Gravely front mounted snowblower,
the one affectionately known among Gravely nuts as a dog eater, awful name but clearly a powerful unit.
Very hard to find, no one wants to sell theirs, and I made someone seriously happy when I sold mine to a Gravely nut
before I moved. Sold him the front mounted snow plow too. That was one happy guy.

My one nemesis was the Sunday paper, and folks who left papers out in their driveways that then got snowed on and totally covered.
My first experience with ICDs. Improvised Clogging Devices...

21 right now going to low 30’s today. Looks like it’s going to be a nice December day. More rain coming tomorrow.
