Good morning!!!!

36 and the sun is out. The rain event from yesterday did not add up to all the hype that was talked about. I am OK with that.

The girls bought Dad a Keurig, I sort of wedded to that machine a year ago while up in NY. I guess I must have talked it up, that and the plastic number 4 filter combo for coffee just did not cut it for the crowds. LOL. Anyway, nice and simple, saves time in the AM. Doesn't require brain cells either. No more did I turn that sticky burner off? LOL. Seems it does all sorts of hot liquids. Wife even has decaf tea. Not a fan. Maybe with rum.

Those of you with snow, enjoy. I sort of am not ready for it this year. I know it will come.

wngsprd mentioned an Eagle. Funny that, a day or so the wife and I were leaving the driveway and right across the road were two of them feeding on a deer carcass. Big, beautiful birds. I don't know if she got a picture of that, will have to ask. Have not seen them in months, so it was special. Even more so with the wife, she loves wildlife.

Today should be in the high 50's. Heading out to putz around and see what else I can do on the run-in. Needs some T111 work on the to dress it up in the front.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. Not to much left of this year. End it on a positive these next few days!

fun part is they are LED, have the same ones, and they could light up in the snow. Bet that would look cool.
sure need to be careful with the plow...
I also have a row of those same canes, I zig zag them through the flower beds.

The low this morning was -7°, yesterday was sunny but temperature stayed in the teens. Looks like today will be in the mid 20's and partly cloudy with a 15-20 mph wind.

I got the driveway done yesterday and made a dump run with a neighbor in the afternoon.

Don't have any real plans for today.

LS ... Nice pics, I thought I had the door closed, it must have came in through the window.

Hope everyone gets to have a long weekend.
CWB.

53 going to 55, just moderate wind, feels great in the sunshine. My kids are here this weekend doing belated Christmas celebrations. Lynn’s brother and his wife will join us.
Ellen and I cooked breakfast for the brood. Gifts will get exchanged later morning, not sure after that what’s up.
Seems a bit more normal this year, but a strange normal.

Have a great day folks, Lord love you all.

Yep, old age keeps getting worse. I've been using my TBN coffee cup every morning for I don't know how long. And this morning after I finished my customary 4 cups of coffee, I washed the cup, started to put it away, and dropped it and broke it.:pullinghair:

Oh dear Bird, that had to smart. Sorry. But just the little lumps of life.
I'm going to ask for the Good Grips one...

Bird, considering you're the most senior member of TBN...probably have the most posts too...I hope the TBN management sends you a replacement!!

Although it wasn't supposed to drop to freezing last night, apparently it did. My step-daughter came home early from work and couldn't come up the walk (which is flat...no slope) due to ice...even though I spread ice melt yesterday. So, across the drive to the garage door basically slipping as she went.
As soon as she got in, I put on my Boggs shoes and went out and spread more ice melt on the walks and part of the drive.
I also ordered a pair of ice cleats as soon as I was done since I have a bum leg (as most of you know) and have had the same slip n' slide walk as she has....both here and at work.
The forecast for tonight is for the low teens temperature....hope it dries up before tonight!

I used to put the candy cane lights along the front of my house, but most of them no longer work.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!

A surprising foggy 31ºF with freezing drizzle/drizzle early this AM fro Walk #1 by 6AM the temperature had risen to 43ºF (today’s high temperature) and the temperature has been slowly dropping ever since with the wind picking up to ~10 mph (sustained) with gusts ~30mph. Fortunately this wind is helping remove the standing surface water. Presently 39ºF with anticipated lows tonight ~mid teens.

I spent my morning with a dump and supply run to the “Big City.”

One of my Yaktrax pullover ice cleats is starting to fail. They apparently do not hold up well to brush as well as rocks. I ordered a different brand of ice cleat. These look to be a little more robust with little exposed rubber/neoprene for rocks and brush to lacerate. We’ll see.

Harv- Dozer is one cute and comfortable looking dog. Nice shop pictures. Thanks for sharing

Ted- Thanks for sharing your winter wonderland pictures.

Bruce- 6184 miles is commendable. I wish you safe travels.

Billy- I am happy that you enjoyed Perry Mason.

“Ted, take it slow with the snow. I thought you said you could hardly walk yesterday? Your wife needs to get a big blob of museum putty and stick you to a chair! ”- Drew I can visualize Ted glued to his chair, crampon tipped cane in one hand, and a snow shovel in his other sliding around moving snow.

RonJH- Awesome picture. Thanks for sharing:)

“….. The wind right now sounds like it’s going to blow my sun room off it’s foundation.”- Phil I heard another tree snap on my property walking Brogen this PM. I should do a tree count of all the trees that have snapped in two due to wind damage this Season. I have all kinds of hanging widow makers waiting to fall. I doubt my tractor will travel too far from its wood and snow management areas this Winter.

Randy- I am happy to read about your families’ gathering.

“Mail order dope.”- Bill  BCBudDepot, a Canadian based company, is a great source for seeds. As a medical marijuana patient I too have to go through the annual recertifications, and card renewals. There is an active “skunkworks” lab in my cellar;), all legal in MA. As I understand MM “home delivery” is now being studied for proposal.

“…. see, you're a tough old Bird. ”- Drew I agree.

Bird- Sorry to read about your mug.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers

speaking of ice melt, took me half an hour to find the ice melt at Lowes today. Six straight people could not pin it down, wow that concrete is hard on the feet and legs.
Finally found it, they had to open the pallet wrap for me. Last year they had none, I came too late. This year they haven't even figured out what they have yet. They put the cheap rock salt out front, I've learned that works poorly. This stuff is rated to 5 degrees, plenty for me.

Then on my travels through Lowes got seduced by the Ferry Morse aisle of seeds, huge display, bought a lot of annual flowers and came home and planted them all in pots, which are now lined up on sunny windowsills inside the garden shed.
Never did get to the golf cart, do that tomorrow. Found a gallon of TSC 30W in the barn, that should be enough for 22 ounces.

Since no power in the garden shed yet I dragged the little 3.1kw Champion inverter gen up from the barn and ran that for a while, which it needs to do, my end of the world gen in case the whole house one dies. And for things like this. Plugged the radio in, plugged the overhead very bright grow light in and planted away. Once it's all wired will have four overhead LED light strips, should be very bright in there which I need to see tiny little seeds. Felt good to plant something.

Went out to garden and checked on American Legion poppies. Making a poor showing, looks like they all washed down into one area.
Guess I'll be doing that a few times. Why they wanted them planted in late Fall I don't know, leaving the rest of the seeds, and I have a huge amount, until March 1.

24°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 32° today. Considering it's almost 2pm and still 30°, I don't think it will make it.

The Wife usually gets the feed for the chickens and ducks, but today she was going the other direction, so I drove out to Carlyle to get it. First time in that new Tractor Supply store since they opened earlier this year, and it's pretty nice. Friendly people, too.

Sorry about the mug, Bird. I'll reiterate ... sure would be nice if TBN had a store that sold stuff like that; mugs, hats, T-shirts ...

Where is TSC, near Walmart?

I have all of the TBN stuff. Including bumper stickers. But cannot find my mug? I have 3 daily coffee mugs. All of them are SS. Because like Bird. I have been known to drop things.

I’ve been using CBD oil on my lower back for a few days, good results so far. A beautiful day today, a little breeze, but bright sun and near 60°.
I know this makes me a pariah, but I drink my coffee from Chinet Comfort Cups. :D
