Good morning!!!!

Was cutting some rubber tubing with a razor blade knife and got myself pretty good. Ouch..

I've been looking for some surgical quality cyanoacrylate, but the good brands don't seem to be readily available to the public. Let me know if anyone has a link. Hope your cut is better.

Buckeye, hope that finger heals quickly.

turns out I do have a sensor in my pin...
The draft system is electronic, the wire is going to a sensor in the top link bracket & pin.

the whole concept of draft somehow has eluded me. Like owning a boat and not being able to tie a decent knot.
Hopefully it is automatic on this new tractor. Sure disc'd nicely.
Dealer owner wanted to know where I found land dry enough to disc, he is moaning about the mud on his personal farm, and a lot more wet weather is coming in. Of course, not much to do at this time of year usually.
So both he and I were sitting at our computers...

I would guess that to be a pricey top link pin. It should be able to keep the tension of the implement according to your setting on the draft lever. If it hits hard soil, it will raise the implement....Or roll over it in this case with a disc implement. Normally for plowing or subsoiling type implements.

The mild weather continues, each day taking us to double digits of Celsius. Apart from Christmas day, when we needed the kitchen range for cooking, only the woodburner in the living room has been seeing any action.

Yesterday as the light was starting to fade I went to bring around a few pieces of firewood and found this barn owl. Not a mark on him that I could see, but he weighed 3/4 of nothing, so I guess his energy reserves had all gone.

May have eaten a poisoned mouse? Or a pellet gun from a chicken farmer? Or maybe his owl wife just nagged him to death? Beautiful birds.

CWB, I'll bet there are some happy kids. My 13 year old is due to go on a day trip to our state's Parks and Wildlife headquarters for some safe shooting training. Her history teacher at school has scheduled this. They were rained out on the originally scheduled trip.

Ron, nice lift setup.

Need to go get my farm trailer's license renewed. Cost= $9.75
My car's license renewal comes up next month Cost= $74.00 (People in our state abuse the temporary paper tags issued by dealers) Often on junky old used cars. Avoid them because they usually have not insurance either.

We actually had to turn on the A/C for a couple days...Not today. Wind chills in the low 30's F. The storm dumped 3" of rain

LS and Ron, hope the PT goes well.

I had a one day tummy ache that prevented me from eating Christmas eve and day. So, I still weigh the same fortunately. Now I have a persistent tickle cough.

Also going to pick up a pair of Bush Hog blades that a welder had scabbed on some new edges made from grader blades. Hopefully last longer. I had just put new blades on it so it will be a while until I utilize them.

Have a blessed day all.

Feel better Kyle. Good thing not all of us have tight belts right now.

When raising and lowering the three point hitch with the external push buttons, I had intermittent action on one of them.
Also thought I smelled something electrical burning, just a little. Never a good smell....
Tech is coming out next week to test steering pump pressure. If under spec, a new one will be ordered. Ratchety not very smooth
power steering. I found another online post about it, and they said new pump fixed it. Showed that to dealer, and factory said fine but
test the pump first. Makes sense. Ran it at 2000 rpm while disc'ing, top rpm is only 2200, old fashioned low rpm style.
Now that it's been run hard and put away only slightly muddy, the tech can go over the whole thing. He's going to install the hydraulic top link also, though that's easy to do. Sure would have liked to have had that while hooking up the disc.
round and round and round goes the top link...

Need to work on tax paperwork and go over a year's worth of receipts. I think I wouldn't mind so much if it was pouring down rain but it isn't at the moment. Looks like another round of heavy storms, question is always whether they fizzle out or go North before they get here.
With about 90 inches of rain so far this year, don't think I've missed many of them. Except for the hurricane thankfully.

Anyone working today, tell your boss Roy said you could go home early.

I'll head out and salt the walks in a bit...not sure if it'll be worth running the tractor over this slushy crap...plus, it's to be well above freezing tonight.

Boy, it was really icy and slick!
I cleared the walks with the EGO snow blower....worked quite well on the inch-inch and a half of very wet, slushy snow...
Also, did clean the drive with a combination of the 3PH blower and front blade...also got the road we live on as well as my neighbor's drive...

Now, Bella and I are watching some episodes of the Sherlock Holmes series that starred Jeremy Brett (was on TV in the mid 1980's). If you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you'll want to catch this series (on YouTube). It's the best adaptations of the Conan Doyle stories made (IMHO) while indulging in a glass of red wine.

Think that'll work?

Actually, my boss popped in last Friday afternoon and found just me and the CAD Engineer still here. He said, "What are you guys still doing here? Go home already." I suspect today will be an early out as well.

Roy, glad you didn't slip and fall, enjoy that glass of wine and give Bella an extra dog bone from all of us.

second batch of rain coming in now. I need to work on putting old family photo albums in archival boxes I bought.
I scanned a bunch but way too many to deal with. Another generation can scan them all before the pictures fade.
I have a bunch of 100 year old family photos here, some enlarged, that I need to get frames made for.
Am told repeatedly I can do it myself.
Frame shop would bankrupt me.

From the looks of radar it appears that I will see a break in the freezing rain/rain until rain returns later this PM. A foggy 33ºF presently everything is still iced up. This is stay at home weather.

Drew- Good luck with the tractor.

PJS- Enjoy your early release:cool:

Roy- Enjoy your wine and afternoon with Bella watching TV reruns.

We watch "Perry Mason." I am happy if I can stay awake long enough to see the end of both episodes.

Hard to complain about today's weather. 52° with sun shining. Those who are in the line of bad weather. Be safe. No more falls or cuts this year.

About .6 of rain so far, second round just moved in an hour or so ago, hit a high of 66°, 63° now.
Nursing home visit, mom thought I hadn’t been since Thanksgiving, I was there Tuesday.

Looked at a Kubota and a MF, not really itching to pull the trigger on any. Also looked a complete 6.0 liter motor, transmission, wiring harness setup for the Monte Carlo. In other words I’m browsing.

Have a good day all, God bless y’all.

Dozer decided today the bucket was the perfect solar-oven-wind-break. Feels like was in the twenties until lunch and never got out of the lower thirties today

The welding/blacksmith shop is coming together. The main door is on the north side so I went with a sliding door. The lock will be a Master hockey puck lock on the left side.

Anyone casing it will be a little confused with the lock there. And the hockey puck lock will make them want to go somewhere else.

Good evening to all! The high for today was 26, going to a low of 0 tonight. The snow finally stopped at around 4 pm. The 'official' report from about 7 miles away was 18.5 inches. I would bet we got at least 20" at the base of the mountain here.

I started out this morning getting the snowblower out, started up good, went about 5 ft into the snow, and the auger wouldn't engage. Pulling the cover off, I found 2 torn up belts. None to be found locally. Ordered them online...won't be here until next Friday...

So spent most of the day intermittently manually shoveling out the walkway and an area off in the yard for our little one to go make her business. Snow was coming in heavier waves, dumping 2-3" in an hour sometimes. There's piles 3-4' high on both sides. Some areas have drifted over the top of the fence by a foot.

Tomorrow is going to have a bunch of tractor seat time. I don't have a plow, so bucket by bucket is going to be slow going. I thought about just doing "a path" just wide enough to get out, hoping the sun would melt a lot of it. Well, the temps are only going up to highs of 26-29 for the next 7 days, so not much help there. I'll start with the path, then maybe enlarge it as time permits.

I hope everyone continues to heal, those having weather stay safe and are careful, and those just conserving energy, are able to do so without issue.

Everyone have a good night. Prayers sent.

Good evening all. 31F for the start, clear, calm wind. Wind was moderate for the day, sky was mostly clear and high temp was 45F. Working on trip prep, one trip to town, and one bike ride. Likely last ride for the year, 6,184 miles for the year. Did check weight, only +1 pound, I'll take it.
Mike, here is to a better 2019 for you and your family. Great story on the ice fall!!
Ted have fun with your snow and tractor time. No falling on your knee!!
Harv, looking like good progress.
Drew good luck and have fun with your tractor, sounds like you are off to a good start.

Not sure how much I can check in while on the road so Happy New Year you'all :D
