Good evening to all! The high for today was 26, going to a low of 0 tonight. The snow finally stopped at around 4 pm. The 'official' report from about 7 miles away was 18.5 inches. I would bet we got at least 20" at the base of the mountain here.
I started out this morning getting the snowblower out, started up good, went about 5 ft into the snow, and the auger wouldn't engage. Pulling the cover off, I found 2 torn up belts. None to be found locally. Ordered them online...won't be here until next Friday...
So spent most of the day intermittently manually shoveling out the walkway and an area off in the yard for our little one to go make her business. Snow was coming in heavier waves, dumping 2-3" in an hour sometimes. There's piles 3-4' high on both sides. Some areas have drifted over the top of the fence by a foot.
Tomorrow is going to have a bunch of tractor seat time. I don't have a plow, so bucket by bucket is going to be slow going. I thought about just doing "a path" just wide enough to get out, hoping the sun would melt a lot of it. Well, the temps are only going up to highs of 26-29 for the next 7 days, so not much help there. I'll start with the path, then maybe enlarge it as time permits.
I hope everyone continues to heal, those having weather stay safe and are careful, and those just conserving energy, are able to do so without issue.
Everyone have a good night. Prayers sent.
