Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #78,621
the heat is back and the nice break of cool weather is over. 69 going to 95 today in sunshine.
was going to mow today but lack of rain has slowed down lawn a little, think I'll procrastinate.

Number one on list today is running water wagon around the property. Then I have more rototilling to do, not too much, replanted cabbage and it simply would not grow in the heat.
grew an incredible patch of weeds though, the airborne seeds/spores are amazing here. Dead spot in lawn? no problem, something will land there and grow...

I don't have good dexterity or strength in my right hand... same here, different reasons. carpal tunnel? been there done that.
now I have carpal arm..... slowly losing my grip.

Farmer, I soak my pto shaft/connector in Kroil, or some spray lube I have with a little teflon in it, nothing thick that will glom up the balls and spring.
Perhaps I've got some overly strong springs too. I'm simply unable to squeeze and hold against those springs for more than a few seconds.
We are still using the same pto arrangment since they first designed tractors and stopped using belts (whump whump whump). After all these years, some inventor
needs to come up with the magic gizmo here. I've seen the bolt on adaptors, means buying a part for every implement. Might be worth it.

Sure would help to be young and strong....

let's be safe today and enjoy the day

Poured first cup of coffee. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with mostly sunny skies. Now that I have cleared out more stuff from animal barn. I can organize other stuff so I can store chipper in there. Going to start that today after taking dog to vet for operation to remove growth from her eyelid. Then PT.

Spend some time on back porch enjoying the summer weather.

Good Morning All. Prayers for all.

my friend in Milton DE took this picture off his back deck yesterday. He said the plane was no more than three feet above the corn.

58 right now...bit cooler today with highs in the lower 80's.

Audit is going OK...no findings yet, but it's early.

Y'all have fun today!

Good to hear about the audit. Like someone said, they will dig until they find something to justify their jobs. Hope it keeps going well.

Good Morning!!!! 71F @ 5:15AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

The PTO shaft that came with the flail mower was one of the push button types, and in addition to being too short, the bore that the button ran in was machined so roughly it was almost impossible to push. When the replacement shaft showed up, I went from thinking the push button type was a horrible idea to liking it much more than the collar type because the new one worked so easily. As Farmer pointed out, neither type will work with out being clean and well lubricated, but if they are badly made from the beginning, neither of those things matter and you just need to bite the bullet and replace them.

From the looks of this image, The wildfire yesterday may have been started by someone that lives in this house. Adequate fire clearance kept the house from burning, but only a very rapid response from the water bombers kept all the neighbors from losing theirs. People still do not understand just how dry and flammable things are, and try to mow, run a chainsaw, or drop a lit cigarette but like it was winter or spring time. Last night the TV weatherman showed a graph comparing typical fuels dryness over the year with what they are this year, and we are already much drier now than usual. Gonna be a long fire season...

Managed to get the forks mounted to the old motorcycle yesterday, a task which by itself would have been very straight forward. But first I had to find the correct parts, then figure out what state of repair they were in. Not so easy with failing memory and work that has been done over the last several years. The big springs that go inside the forks were a case in point. It turns out I had replaced them with upgraded springs, then put the originals into the box the new ones came in for safe keeping. I had done such a nice job cleaning the old springs I could not tell new from old when I looked, and did not remember doing the swap. Finally figured out that the new springs had the ends ground flat, and the originals threaded into plastic fittings which I had mistakenly left in place. So Yes, I had made the swap, but had not got it right, and No, I had not left a trail for myself by marking that box so that I would know what was inside it. That is fixed on that box, but there are a whole bunch more, each with its own riddle to solve...:confused2:

More of the same today, sorting out the front brake and wheel bearings:laughing:

It would appear that the iPad and Apple’s Safari browser running on it do not like apostrophies or quote marks. If I try to make a contraction, such as for do not, and try to write don’t, you see what happens. Sounds like a case for the admins, but if your posts come out looking funny, this may be the reason. But this time the apostrophe came out fine, and in the original post, I had to go back and take them all out because the result was unreadable. This one is gonna be hard to find...

Happy Hump Day folks!

Was supposed to be cooler today, but now they say 91 and humid, that ain’t cool.

I dance like a drunken baboon with a blindfold, and that is slow dancing!

Had a great lunch with my daughter yesterday, nice talk as well. We’ve decided to make it semi regular.
I’m working on a chair Upholstery job today, gotta keep my skills up.
I hope you all have a great day, prayers to you all.

The warmest morning so far this season 60*. Yesterday was in the low 90's and sunny all day with some wind. Today is going to be in the high 80's and a 50% chance of thunderstorms.

I got the days wrong, today is the day we need to go to town.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Got a no burn notice for my township this morning. In less than a week it has gone from solid green to almost all brown. At least we get dew on the grass most mornings.
Will not have to cut grass this week.

73°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 92° today. Humidity has dropped to 44%, so that may help a bit as well.

Wife has been nursing along a rabbit hole with four kits scratched into the back yard under the swing. She put a small plastic fence around it to keep the dogs from constantly sniffing around it. She went out yesterday afternoon and found them all dead. Guessing the heat got to them, as that part of the yard gets sun most of the day. She found a decapitated rabbit near there a few days ago, and we're guessing that was probably momma.

His driveway is shown as Hog Ave on the map.

Looked that up on Google Maps, and ... wow. Yeah, there's a lot of cleanup involved with that place. That will be a mighty chore.

Stay cool today, fellas.
