His driveway is shown as Hog Ave on the map. In a word, no...cleanup would be huge and I already have enough farm land to keep me tired.
I keep telling my younger fireman neighbor he needs to save money to buy this place, his family's property is across the street, this is his ancestral home, not mine.

Flushed a lot of small animals while mowing five foot tall weeds and Momma hawk was patrolling above, what was fun was she had two small chicks flying with her, whizzing around behind her.
Thankful I didn't hit any deer in there or anything large, never heard those awful "thumps"...
I kept the mower at about 8 inches to give the rabbits and snakes a chance, and several rabbits and lots of moles ran around.
Was waiting for Momma hawk to whisk one away but never saw it happen. When I got too close to her way up in a very tall tree, she would move to the other side of the field with her chicks, away from me. Maybe she didn't know I couldn't fly...all I was doing was parading dinner in front of her.

Farmer, thanks for info on pto shafts. The round collar style I have requires both sides pulled back at the same time one is pushing in the opposite direction.
Using one hand never worked for me and clearly using two hands wasn't much better...
Yes to wearing gloves. I just never have. Should just use some cheap semi disposables for that, can't stand putting my hands in vinyl or latex.

Back home after a busy day. $63 for 800 lbs of scrap metal. Was worth the 10 mile drive.
My Aunt that lives over near Irv (300guy) called asking for some help. Cover for her bathroom fan/light fell apart. Could not be saved. Did a Google search. $15 for 40 year old fan from Broan. She got a 25 gallon Fimco sprayer. I hooked up and tested it. Seems to be a nice unit. Since my Uncle died she has been maintaining her kennels and 10 acres by herself. She has a good line of Labordor dogs. Her kennels are called
Lubberline Labradors. I am sure Drew will know what their other hobby was. Like others it feels good to help others.

Right now, the Dark Fire, about two miles to the southeast. Water bombers are on it, it seems like the sky is full of 'em.

Man I hate the sound of those airplanes, but I'm sure glad they're there.:fiery::eek:

Country dancing and no boots? She has to be kidding. Right? Maybe you could talk the little old ladies form the sailing club to talk to her. :) Ed

Farmer, good writeup on pto attachment. They are only a problem when things arent lubricated.

Actually, the PTO shaft ends are well lubricated and it slips on the tractor's stub shaft easily. The problem is the retaining balls don't retract enough. I've read online that sometimes the connector end is packed with grease...too much grease. The fix is to disassemble, clean out the excessive grease and re-lube. This isn't my first PTO shaft by far but it has been the most frustrating to hook up.

That could do it, if grease got hard.

Yeah, I've pushed them down with a screwdriver...that, combined with the pull type ring, makes life very difficult.
I have used the chipper, and the first hook up was just as much of a PITA. The chipper is great...except for the PTO shaft hook up.
