Farmer, good writeup on pto attachment. They are only a problem when things arent lubricated.
That could do it, if grease got hard.Actually, the PTO shaft ends are well lubricated and it slips on the tractor's stub shaft easily. The problem is the retaining balls don't retract enough. I've read online that sometimes the connector end is packed with grease...too much grease. The fix is to disassemble, clean out the excessive grease and re-lube. This isn't my first PTO shaft by far but it has been the most frustrating to hook up.
Ok. If I remember correctly this is a new unit. So it might be a tight spring and you don’t realize that you’re not getting enough release on it. If cleaning or disassembly and cleaning doesn’t work. I’d try to shorten the spring for the second disassembly.
