Roy snow is suppose to start early morning on Thursday and continue into Thursday night with strong wind gusts, depending on what side of the river your headed 8 to 10 inches on the eastern side of the state, 4to 6 central and 1 to 3 in the south western section of Connecticut. Have a safe trip remember here in Ct snow clearing isn't as good as up north.

Fortunately, we postponed the trip until next week (due to the weather).

132018 is getting off to quite a start. Yesterday, my wife saw her pain doctor and he removed the wires that were inserted in her back a week ago, and the controller (or whatever they call it). The doctors had said that IF this didn't do more than a 40 or 50% improvement in her back pain, they wouldn't proceed with the permanent one, but she says it was a 60 to 70% improvement, so now they'll wait 3 weeks to make sure she heals up with no infection, then they'll go again, but install everything permanently under the skin at least.

Compared to some of the other problems some of you and your wives have suffered lately, ours seems so minor I was hesitant to post it. After 52+ years, I consider us to be very lucky.

12 years ago, one of the two faucets in the bathroom lavatory was leaking. I could not find a brand name, model, or anything like that on it, but I took it apart and found a "cartridge" (I think that's what they call it) and I went shopping; Home Depot, THREE plumbing supply companies, and finally found an expensive replacement; not exactly the same, but it worked. Those faucets were probably OEM in the house. Well, lately, that same faucet was leaking a little bit by the handle, but only when it was turned on. And then on New Years day, the other one started dripping, even when turned off. So this time I called a plumbing company that I'd used in the past, and we now have all new faucets, water lines from the shut off valves, etc. at a cost of $897.20.

My Kitchen faucet was broken, but useable, for 3 yrs before i finally crawled under and replaced it. Also did bathroom one recently, and a yr ago had to replace a shower valve.
I dont like plumbing.

I absolutely hate plumbing. About 90% of my experiences with repairing pre-existing plumbing has ended poorly for me. That's why we replaced all those garbage plastic lines in our house with new copper (well, we actually paid someone else quite handsomely to do the work). I don't mind replacing faucets when there are solid pipes to connect to, but I'm all done with pvc. That stuff may be the worst idea ever.

Just getting over a bad cold that kept me down over New Year's weekend.. Wife had it, then daughter and then me... we're hoping it will not start another round. It has been in the teens at night, 20s in daytime here for a few days, thankful that we are not in the deep freeze so much of the country is experiencing.

Regarding faucets, when we build our house (started in '93), we put in Peerless faucets with lifetime warranty... but Moen bought Peerless. I emailed them about a leaking faucet with a picture attached a few years ago, they sent me the parts to fix it.

Put in Moen when we put our master bath shower in, cartridge failed (leaking). Replacement $78 online, emailed Moen, they sent replacement free.

Yeah, we put in all Moen faucets this time, hawkeye. They seem pretty well-made.

When it comes to dealing with back pain, I assure you.... NOTHING is minor.

Good for your wife to get relief. Hope for the best!
